Asking that Oil companies move from lagos to ND has turned to Lagos bashing, Haba I tot u were going to explain how to attack my LG, so u haven't even attacked ur LG and u want me to attack mine, The funny thing is I wasn't even attacking the FG, I have just asked that Goodluck move the oil companies from Lagos to ND and provide conditions for credible elections so we can hold our leaders accountable, I don;t think we are communicating, lets rest Doo!! |
KnowAll:I am pretty sure he will peform better than OBJ who has ruled nigeria for almost 13yrs, remember that pple are always underating him Kobojunkie:I am fast losing the initial respect I had for you kobojunkie, I just hope that looner becomrich has not taken over your profile, he tried and failed to derail the topic of this thread by diverting it to a senseless thread(80% of Oil is not produced in ND) lol. I tot I had settled this issue of Government at any level. Ok lets go along with your line of reasoning. I would like to attacke my LG chairman, How do I go about it? Keep in mind that he was not put there by majority of the people in the LG, faultion electioneering (which we hope Goodluck will correct) made him chairman, Police and Legal authorities are currupt and are controlled by FG, Please kindly site examples of how you achieved this feat in your LG, and how your LG is rapidly developing, I am all ears |
Kobojunkie:Kobojunkie, This is really becoming boring, I have stated the roll of governments and how they can be held accountable, I have even asked for suggestions on how to hold rogues inposed as governors from abuja accountable, Maybe you are succeeding in your state, Please share your experiences. I promise you that we in the ND will do it, for now the only thing we can think of is credible elections, I have even gone further to express what an accountable Governor is expected to deliver to his people (An economy built on the foundations of resources you r blessed with). Just the way we expect a responsible FG to ensure that companies exploiting our resourses for their profit, engage in human capacity development, spur other industrial and economic activities will be the same way we will expect ND governors to do the same?? If left on their own, Shell for instance will prefer that all technical developmental efforts are carried out in holand while lesser important activities are done in Nigeria, Napims is trying to put a stop to this, I hope this lays this issue to rest, Kobojunkie:Can you imagine this, i should provide proof What do you think gave rise to militancy, what do you think Issac Saka Boro and Saro Wiwa of blessed memories were fighting for?? Chicken and Beaf Stew??For your info, rolayties come in many forms and cash payments to idle natives to keep away from the oil sector is the worst form of it (unfortunately this is what Ol industry in Nigeria would rather practice). Kobojunkie, please it is not by force to contribute, I think the point I am trying to show has been throughly trashed, I just need to see some action from Goodluck, |
Pifa:I heard Awolowo was Gowon economic adviser?? apart from giving the advise on the blockade of biafra and striping the Ibos of their economic rights after the civil war, tru the indigenisation decree and the pantry sums given to Ibos after the war, I would like to know his other contributions during this ERA |
Please do not add Edo and Delta to ur useless Benin or Oduduwa contraption, we do not want you!!! Or is it by force now?? The nigerian supreme court has decded that the continental selve belong to the litoral states and you are saying something else?? then who owns the seas?? If u say that state collects tax frm companies operating in them, where do u think the tax fr the companies operating in the seas will go to first? |
^Knowall, Please throw more light on how this focusing and search lighting can be done?? So people are dying in droves in PH and ND ab? Hope you know that Lagos is not as safe as Aberdeen or Huston, yet because the FG insist tru Napims that deep off shore construction is done on Nigeria, and the Oil companies have selected snake island lagos as the construction hub, My argument is: If the FG can insist that the Oil companies leave a very safe place to a less safer place than y not ND?? I sure you don't want to know, instead you prefer to provide excuses, You know quite alright that the governors in most of the 36 states are not put there by the people? Please kindly explain how someone who is not put there by you is accountable to you?? Or r u trying to say that Iwu has been conducting credible elections in ND only? I said b4, we are very happy with what is happening to Ibori, we are eager to see such happen to Odili and Igbenidion, but these pple are not accountable to us, the only way is tru credible elections and that is why Goodluck is actively pursuing this, And when we have accountable governors in ND they will definately not allow ND economy to be run from Lagos. |
oko-omoge:But in Nigeria it is the other way round, people will trow all sorts of reasons to support it, a lot of people are inately evil, but they don't know it, Someone boldly wrote here that ND pple are not good enough for the oil companies, only their oil is good, shame on evil perpetrators and those who continue to support injustise against ND. |
For more than 30 to 40 years, The decision makers of the Oil producing majors decided that they would operate the Oil industry out of Lagos, and some people attribute this to the recent militant activities?? Like I said I work in the Oil industry, so I know what injustices I am talking about, I know what injustises we NDs suffer in the hands of yorubas every blessed day. When I talk of relocating from Lagos to ND, I am not refering to head offices, I am refering to operational aspects of the business, let me give an example Chevron based on Lekki express way, operates escravos fields, all engineering, operational decisions, contracting, designs, recruitment take place in Lagos, This is the set up long before the militancy issue. Those at the helm of affairs in Chevron are yoruba, so they strategically position chevron there knowing fully well that they are denying the ND of these benefits, The same goes for snepco, Mobil, schlumberger, The most painfull aspect is recruitments, for a long time they were done in Lagos, I served in PH in the late 90's and I observed that while we were hustling for job spaces in PH, the Oil companies were recruiting young yoruba youth from Lagos. I suggest that Goodluck start by moving Napims to Yenegoa or warri, I don't see what they are doing in Lagos?then allow 2 or 3 yrs for the private Oil companies to move fully because thats the normal way thing should be, I have said be that if the economy of cocoa was being controlled from kaduna during the cocoa era, how would you people supporting the present status quo feel. Truely we need to hold the Govt of the ND responsible as do all states, and when we start the first questions we will ask is where are the Oil companies operating? If you are governor of a state and you want to boast your economy do you allow small and medium scale industries selected in Lagos, being taxed in Lagos execute all the contrats in your state? You need to be in control of your resourses, your citizens need to be empowered, and the first steps is using what you have to get what you want, I have given example of UK (London and Aberdeen)(NY and Texas) The oil companies do not operate the scotish oil field out of london, nor NY, only in LAGOS NIGERIA do we have such. I am not a Lagos hater, i don't care weather they are the best or worst in the world, I just want control of the resource I am blessed with. Is that asking too much?? How does that amount for asking for lagos to fall or fail?? Again I ask the question, if coal is being mined in enugu and all economic decisions affecting coal are being ocstrated from sokoto, how does that sound to you? does it sound right? ND pple need to be in control of every aspect of this resourse, from exploration, production, transportation, small and meduim scale set up etc, this does not mean other nigerian will not be engaged but Nigerdeltans should have right of first refusal. The reason? They are blessed with the resourses To ask them to ignore that resourse and engage in other developmental programs is total foul because that resourse will form the bedrock of any developmental programs, |
Kobojunkie:This is the context in which I wrote According to FG can force shell deep offshore design office to leave huston and come to lagos but not to ND. He 4gets that the argument that Lagos has more and better qualified graduates than ND also applies to Lagos VS Huston The word "become" was a typo |
Hatch please which of my claims are baseless?? |
hatch#:I have not said they are not accountable, I am very happy with what is happening to Ibori, but the topic is on relocation of Oil Companies to ND, I hope that dos not translate to praising ND leaders in your book?? You see for every action we take or want to take, Once we blind ourselfs to facts and reason we will see no other way, In some of my other post I explained that the reason for this topic was to improve the economy of ND within our present situation, when president abdul salem moved the NSL hq to Abuja, The westernerns were up in arms, their argument was that Abuja has no sea, OBJ came and moved it back to lagos to satisfy the west, That was power talking, This same lagos had held NNPC hq for so many years before it recently moved to Abj, but because the NigerDeltans did not have the political power to move it, The numerous economic benefits were all enjoyed in Lagos, According to become Kobojunkie, what is good for the Geese is not good for the gander, FG can force shell deep offshore design office to leave huston and come to lagos but not to ND. He 4gets that the argument that Lagos has more and better qualified graduates than ND also applies to Lagos VS Huston I talking about a situation that has persisted for over 30years and people are saying a 30year situation has been like that because of what fashola is doing in lagos and MEND are doin in the ND. Imagine "The Oil companies don't want to come to ND because Lagos is developing and MEND is in ND". Kobojunkie is of the opinion that you can't force companies because it democracy, Have you forgotten how american spec vehicles came about?? in the late 80's the american govt (A democracy) insisted that japanese companies setup manufacturering plants in the USA, The japanese firms had to comply because US market was the biggest market, now it that not forcing companies? I actually feel depressed reading your write ups because I realise more and more that the average yoruba man will never want to let go of this juicy stuff even though you have been the greaest beneficiary, The owner have come oo Whatever lenght you u go to justify this injustise, the time for them to move has come, |
KoboJunkie, In order words the companies are in lagos because thats where the qualified people are?? The federal government says they can't find enough graduates in the Nigerdelta?? The yoruba are producing the best graduates in nigeria, Its really sad the extent someone would go to blemish an injustice, I beg u win, let them be in lagos and employ, and develop the economy there, they should just come for the oil and go, when it is dried up like Oloibiri you laugh at us like Becomerich did, They will not employ us because the senior yoruba leadership of the oil companies says that Lagos graduates are better then ND graduates?? Time will tell, |
Kobojunkie and Pifa, The ND leadership is fuckin up big time. but that does not mean that the Oil companies should Operate from outside the ND, Its very easy to accuse MEND for the Oil companies operating from outside the ND, but that is very myopic because from time memorial, they have set up in Lagos long before the ND crises started, And if you talk of security, lagos is just as Bad, expats working for the oil companies are limited in movement by the security outfits of the oil companies, I know because I have worked for them, and this is since the 90's, The ND and the whole of Nigeria are backward, but to solve the question, I would advocate for resourse control, every man works and pays taxes to the council, the councils pay taxes to the LG, LG to state and so on, The leaders in the ND for the past 10years do not represent the pple, but that does not mean the Oil companies should operate outside the ND |
Kobojunkie:Kobojunkie for a man who claims to be churning out educated facts let me tell you some thing about training u may not underatand, If are refering qualified university graduates, then ND has enough, almost all the six states in the ND have 2 universities each in addition to Polys, COEs, Technical schools etc Now if you are refering to training you get by letting your graduates work with more technical experienced people in order to ensure technology transfer, it is usually nice to ensure that the technical partner situates such an enviroment in your area, And for your information that is how China and South korea developed, not just having plenty graduates, They forced companies to set up manufacturing, R& units in their countries, They didn't allow american and european companies to use their countries as sales outlets for thier products, that way the graduates are trainned and technology is transfered, After many years they acquire the skills to run such on their own. Do you think these ameracan and european came to china because they like china or its people, Now Nigeria is trying to do such with the local content policy, but my argument is that local content policy should not become lagos content policy, If Goodluck is smart enough is will also start the ND content policy because everything will end in lagos. Kobojunkie:I can also ask u the same question, when you forced shell to bring down their deep water engineering outfit from Huston texas to Lagos did you ever consider what Huston has that lagos does not?? But we decided that the Nigerian economy must grow regardless to we decided to force them to come anyway. It is the same logic that holds in asking them to relocate to ND, with the political will, this can be done rememer that if everybody stays in lagos because it has more faciities, it will continue to grow and other places won't Don't be selfish spread the joy man, the Oil is produced some where else, let them enjoy it, |
For the last time becomerich, the companies I am refering to do not sell oil in nigeria, I wish I could write yoruba, then I would explain in the language, Is your skull this thick and impervious to reasonable data? Do you live near a satelite earth station? Has radiation from the satelite station permanently damaged your reasoning processes? Could that be y u r so much inluv with satellite pictures? I wish I see you on one of these satellite pictures, Lets take it slowly again, Oil marketing companies like Mobil Oil and Elf Oil are different entities from as Mobil producing and Total Producing, they don't even have the same offices, Please try TB Joshua. I you seriously need his touch in your life |
Kobojunkie:I quite agree with you Kobojunkie, that is why a group of people who have held on to economic power for so long find it difficult to let go, so they have to be forced or cajoled or otherwise, Companies can really operate in one place and make key economic decisions from another place, thus bypassing the citizens of the operational areas, but if the citizen in the place of operations can muster the political power they will not allow that happen, let me give examples, For a long while, the oil companies operating in Nigeria, where carrying out their technical design and engineering functions abroad (They are free to do this), thereby denying nigerian this skills development, But the Nigerian government had to bend them to make sure that some of the functions are relocated to nigeria, in order to create positive effects on the ecomony, In the same vain, the Oil companies operating in ND have decided to locate most of their juicy offices in lagos (majority of the nigerians in senior mgt are lagos breed), Imagine that snake Island lagos is where napims wants the oil majors to carry out their major offshore fabrications, Imagine that the biggest ever contract to supply helicopters to SPDC was won by a Yoruba man operating out of Lagos and many more, Like I said, I agree with it, The companies and those controlling them are free to do what ever they please with economic decisions and how it affect those areas they operate in, especially when they persive the operational areas as weak and incapable of any formidable reaction, but they should have it at the back of their minds that change is constant and power is in constant flux. |
Kobojunke, maybe u did not understand me well, I don have a problem with liason offices being located in Lagos or elsewhere, that is not the case here, a liason office is usually a small setup to coordinate comminucation activities, Its like having a company that mines coal in enugu having its major decision centers in kaduna, its just not fair, anyway you look at it, I can see now that becomrich is a looney, I just hope the guy will not or does not occupy. Any position of power becos I can't see signs of an Adolf hitler in the making. The traits are similar, ethnic supremacist mixed mental derangement, very sad |
There is nothing wrong with the BBC program or title, it is the way news media try to get pples attentions, imagin if the tittle was "Welcome to the poor part of Lagos" or "Imagin how lagos poor pple survive" most pple with not be interested because we prefer to bury our heads in the sand and pretend it does not exist, Personnal I loved it because when most lagosians travel or other parts of the country, they run them down acting as though Lagos was heaven on earth, at least this program go make boastfull lagosians shut up for a while, On a more serious note, I really don't know why we are always up in arms against such programs, I remember farienheit 911, a program done by an American on the Bush Administration, Instead of burning energy on threads critisizing BBC, we can start profering way of eradicating such slums, so that BBC will not see them again, For thinking of going to shoot negative places in UK, USA etc, don't even bother, their new meadia have already covered it, over and over again, |
People really need to be pitied The topic of this thread centers on how to imporve the economy of the ND states but your main interest seems to be how to keep the status quo, so that Lagos can be considered as the best place in 9ja, i don't really care if Lagos is the best place in the world, what I am interesting in is how the ND states can make best use of their resourses for economic enhancement and those things militating against them. You have created a parallel thread in order to bi-little the subject matter by creating a thread with a sensational but senseless topic (DaLover: 80% Of Nigeria Oil Is Not Produced In The Niger Delta.). I confess its more likely to catch the eyes but any sensible person should not that ethnic chanpions are propaganda specialist. Hitler has gobbles You tactically avoided the issues I raised, talking about things that did not matter. I was refering to Oil production business and you talked about oil selling, I just hope you know your onions because Oil production and oil selling are 2 totally diferent businesses. Do mobil, Schlumberger, Snepco, Chevron Napims sell oil in Lagos?? I have seen in the newpapers where schlumberger and lagos state government were argueing over taxation isues, please re-confrim what you mentioned about Lagos govt not collecting tax from the Oil companies, But I know that Lagos collects tax from all companies working there. Becomrich0:I am now convinced about what you stand for! Do you think that just any piece of land can produce cocoa productively, or the yorubas are geniuses at turning ordinary land into arable and fertile oil producing land? People are lucky to be blessed with either arable, fertile land that may produce specific cash crop or minerals (Solid or Liguid) Being blessed with arable land to grow cocoa is the equivalant of being blessed with land containing oil. Nobody put it there. Whatevery one is blessed with, he should be able to benefit from it. I like you because you are not like your brothers who pretend to like us, telling you that the North is our enemy while screwing us economically, you spit out your ethnically selfish truth!! |
Becomerich Let me understand your reasoning, Most of the Oil is produced in the Seas, so from your logic Nigeria is made up of Oil producing states and Oils producing seas, the seas do not belong to any one state and even if they do, most are near or bound Ondo state, Hence the need to maintain the status quo of Oil companies operating out of Lagos State, For any nigerdeltan reading this, please take note, the North is not the problem of the Nigerdelta, we know who, They will never want to let go of what they holding, even if deep down they know it is unjust. In two countries we can easily relate to, UK and US, They have ofshore oil also, In UK the oil companies do not operate of of london, scotish pple will never allow that (Aberdeen in UK is where u find the Oil economy, industries, recruitment, research, Oil realated education, Fabrication etc located) In USA they will never operate out of new york because it is the financial capital, you find all the infrastructure about oil industry in Texas where the oil is, But coming home to Nigeria, Geography becomes upside down so pple can justify nonsence, The seas no longer belong to litoral states, The taxes are paid to FGN so it doesn't matter where they are located, if they are located in Nigerdelta, they may not pay taxes to federal Govt.?? Ok lets assume that 80% of Oil is in the seas belonging to FGN (instead of states b4 FGN), You agree that 20% is found in ND, isn't that enough reason to site the Oil Hub in that area?? This is what Nigerdeltan should expect if ND is enveloped in the oduduwa country as proposed by becomerich, |
I am from the Niger delta and one of the main injustices I have cried against over the years is the tactical stranglehold on the economy of the Oil industry by the Lagos axis. I agree that lagos is the commericial capital of the country but I see no reasons for instance why Napims, Mobil, Chevron, Schlumberger should operate from Lagos, I can support them maintaining liason offices in Lagos, but to fully operate out of Lagos is just shamefull, In case you are going to site militancy and Kidnap as the reason, This has been going on since time memorial, only recently SPDC moved its head quarters to PH after so much pressure, What we have to is similar to a situation where cocoa was being produced in the west but the economy was controled from Abuja or Enugu, This is allowed to happen in Oil industry because the NigerDeltans are in minority and are not respected, I honestly wish Goodluck can kick start this process, Lagos has grown to the extent that the departure of these companies should not have a major effect but the states of the ND really need the economic benifits and the ripple effect on skills levels, medium scale industries, technical contracting firms etc. Right now all these benifits are accrueing to thoses from the lagos axis and it just ain't fair, what do you think? and how can this be achieved quickly |
Becomrich I am Isoko from Delta State, and right now we trying hard to contend with the domination of yoruba in Niger Delta, pls do not aggravate the situation by adding us to ur funky yoruba empire, the same for biafra, we will not like to be added to biafra or oduduwa, plan ur future without us, is it too much to ask, |
Becomerich I like your map of Nigeria and Benin Republic, but kindly remove Edo and Delta states from the green section to the yellow one because we will never ever be interested in such a Union! |
Jomo your name will go down in history books as a true hero for the niger deltans. The reply u gave to d selfish ones can only be complemented with a thank u and weldone. Please keep on sabotaging because that is d only voice of poor niger deltans which will be listened to. |
@ilugunboy What exactly is grandstanding? This government(and the rest of nigeria) have proven beyond reasonable doubt that the only language understood is violence, the facts speak for them selves, Maybe you prefer me to write fairly tales about how all ethnic groups will one day dance around a camp fire, clap hands and sing kumbaya The truth is that Nigeria exist only because of oil and not because we love each other. MEND have resorted to use violence to apply pressure that years of patience, conferences etc could not make the rest of nigeria see, I agree that there is a risk Nigeria may end up like somalia, ethopia etc, but it baffles me why people will blame the hopeless youths violently agitating for their rights as the cause of this, instead of those who created the enviroment of injustice and unfairness, Deep down in your hearts we know that the ruling class of hausa and yoruba elite r not ready to change the status quo, the hausa r determining the public sector oil contracts and resourses from Abuja and the yorubas, the private sector oil economy from lagos, In this nation of twisted logic, Someone even had the guts to ask y Asari dobubo should be wealthy from oil in his backyard, when we have people like otedola, obj, sultan to mention a few that have raked in billions from the same oil, Is it fair ? |
I would like to start by saying that the actions of MEND have helped the Niger delta/Nigerian nation in the following ways -It has greatly increased the global awareness on the nigerdelta issues, -Federating units are begining to realise that laziness and dependence on monthly oil handouts is fading is not the way forward -Days where of greedy Yoruba and Northerner domination of large chunks of the oil industry while nigerdeltans are pushed aside are numbered. I am in full support of the strategy being deployed by MEND, Please feel free to bomb where any point you feel would put pressure on the present youroba/hausa dominated federal government, What do the crazy yoruba leaders mean by warning Mend, Lagos was developed with oil money at the same time the ND was being neglected, These so call yoruba leaders have forgotten that yorubas dominate the Navy and Airforces presently bombing the hell out of villages in the ND, Maybe if all the yorubas in the Navy, airforce and Army were to dis-involve themselves from the ND military excecise then oil installations in the west will be left out, as if, NigerDeltans did not at any point in history did not agree to conceed total control of oil resourses to the central government, this was done by a federal government which we all know has been controlled by Hausa/Yoruba domination. Hence if you call MEND people oil thieves, then the FG and others participation in the sharing oil money without the permission of the Nigerdeltans are also oil thieves, MEND fighters may not be men of outstanding virtues, by our moral standards, but who do you think forms the ground soidiers in every army, certainly not those who we consider decent ones in the society, |
Please how much did the Yar'adua spend on these vessels, It would be interesting to know. Could this money have been added to solve the NigerDelta Crisis? Well! from what I know, The major operations of the militants are in the creeks where this boats are useless. I honestly think there is a real need for Yar'adua to refocus on solving the nigerian problem through other means. |
I believe OBJ was the worst because of the expectations Nigerian had, I mean people did not expect much from the likes of Babangida and Abacha. Back then in 99, we had finally gotten democracy and hope were at an all time high. Oil sales were continually booming during OBJs period and the money rolled in. But somehow OBJ managed to dash all hopes for quick progress as a nation, I mean this a man that aspired to lead without a single idea on how the nation would be turned forward (at least "Baba Go slow" get 7 pt agenda) . Under Abacha, The west suffered, and there was constant rioting in the street of Lagos and Ibadan. Under Obj, The Niger Delta was severly punished for daring to live on top of Oil. The idiot even had the gots to attempt a third term. May GOD send that man to erternal damnation |
BecomeRich:I would like to believe that this is a child writing or at most, an adult with a childs mentality. For instance you take objection to the fact that I backstabing activities of the yoruba political class, and insist that the issue is with the yoruba masses. But you then turn around to blame the entire hausa race for the wrong doings of their political class. It is on this basis u r advocating leaving the nigerian project. y Don't you know how awolowo backstabed Ojukwu to maintain one Nigeria. Your childish tots threaten to wipe away all that effort. Or maybe I am the stupid one, maybe the political configuration Benin republic is ripe with potential minoritties to be backstabed and decieved. At the nationak constitutional confab the Obj monkey everybody knew everyone elses position. The positions of the reps were largely in largely in line with people from their regions. The northerners wanted to maintain control and status quo. The south south wanted resourse control, the east cried neglect and magibalisation. Our dear west pretended to support the rest of the south until it was time to play hard ball. After all this a child frm no where will say yorubas should leave nigeeria with the additional insult of adding edo and delta states. Like someone said earrlier IT SHALL BE BLOOD ON THE DANCE FLOOR. You just cant do that. What you should be thinking is how the mass number of intelligent yoruba can create opportunies for us the un inteligent ones, not by carving ijaw teritory into yours not by stifling efforts to locate adequate seaports, airports because they are minoritiess and definately not by ensuring lagos is the start and stop off all things good in nigeria. Shipping headquarters as an adninistrative building can be located any where. If the nigerdeltans allowed NNPC headqusrters in lagos, headquarters of a company controling billions. It that not selfishness at its prime. When nigeria started as a young country Lagos was carved out as special for all nigerian, that ideology lead federal govt into massive infrastructural develoment of the place. It was not considered a state, it was run by a ministery and a minister. Along the line, after so much federal devlopment, the yorubas insisted that lagos should be counted as one of the yoruba states. Today northerners are fighting to convert abuja to a nothern state. How can we then fault them? where is the moral basis? I an oppurtuned to work in the oil industry. It is a total washout here. Yorubas control everything going on here, based on the same claim that inteligence is naturaly bestoled on them. With their influences all the majors have masive operational offices in lagos, please note that this situations existed long before militant issues came into ND. From there contrracts and employnent were awarded froom lagos. LNG LNG requires a massive amount of gas to functionl, but the Obj monkey along with funsho of nnpc and yoruba leaders of chevroon decided to place the project btw ondo and ogun states. A gas pipeeline does not exist now but there are plans to build one as ondo gas alone is too iinsuficient for the purpose. In additio nits location will be too far and expeensive for major deep offshore fields like boonga to supply. But then, I guess this reasons pale into insignificance when there is a neeed to keep yorubas ahead of the rest at all cost. I am just one of those uninteligent nigerian. |
Becomerich, Lets face it, nigeria as we know it today is in a very bad state, but which group enjoys from it the greatest? the answer is the yorubas, they control the ecomony, over the years lady luck has shone on the yorubas in nigeria combined with some political backstabing. Immidiately after the civil war, when their greatest rivals (the Ibos) were down and out, Awolowo sensible proposed indiginalization, Yorubas who were the only ones with money then bought off all the countries assets, and have since not let go. This is also the reason why they will never fight any war or attempt to leave becos the Ibos are lurking around the corner waiting for that first mistake. That is why the hate will never go away. Today all major economic activities are controlled from Lagos, even the ones that ought not to be there, the banking, Power sector, telecoms sector, oil and gas sector etc. The claim is that they are the most intelligent in the country. (that I do not argue). But what I fail to understand is blaming others when things you control fail. For instance NITEL, NEPA, Banking sector. Simple Logic. The ecomony is in the hands of the Yorubas, The Economy has failed. Simple and straight forward. Becomerich, You asked me to name 5 things the OBJ monkey did for you. 1-Accelerated industrialisation of the Ota area (All other industrial areas in other parts of the country were not touched) 2-OK-LNG, for Gods sake, this LNG is located many miles from were the raw material is. (anyway the boys will ensure its failure) 3-Ensuring Yoruba control of Shipping by moving administrative headquarters shipping from Abuja to Lagos based on the claim that Abuja does not have a sea shore (Note Lagos hosted NNPC headquarters for several years even though it had no oil, infact right now napims controls the oil industry from Lagos instead of Abuja) 4-Using boundry adjustment to ensure that Ondo state acquired more delta state lands and justify its status as an oil producing state. 5-He quickly replaced the GMD of NNPC with a yoruba man, and together with the likes of Otedola they combined to put a nail in the coffin of the refineries since they are outside yoruba lands, now petroleum importation into the country is controled and distributed from Lagos So you see why Yorubas will never want to leave this country because they reaping the greatest benifits, a few of them talk about resourse control half heartedly, when nigerdelta reps walked out of the last constitutional conference, the Ibos supported us by joining the walk out, ONCE AGAIN!! the yorubas displayed their usual backstabing and betrayal habits by choosing to remain with the Hausas. YET YOU DEARED TO ADD AREAS OF DELTA AND EDO STATE TO YOUR PROPOSED MAP This alone should tell Becomerich that 1-majority of the yorubas are not willing to leave that Good oil money. 2-the inteligent claimed by the Yorubas is parasitic type that enables them out-manuver minorities and prevents them from enjoying their natural dues, not the type exibited in countries like swizaland, Luxemburg, Japan, belgium were people without natural resourses develope their countries without leaching on others. As for the rest of Nigeria, we are not yet intelligent. Thanks |
[/size]
What do you think gave rise to militancy, what do you think Issac Saka Boro and Saro Wiwa of blessed memories were fighting for?? Chicken and Beaf Stew??
units in their countries, They didn't allow american and european companies to use their countries as sales outlets for thier products, that way the graduates are trainned and technology is transfered, After many years they acquire the skills to run such on their own. Do you think these ameracan and european came to china because they like china or its people,
