PoliticsRe: Power Improvement Talk Is A Ruse - David Mark by DaLover(m): 4:02pm On Oct 09, 2011
abeg, the problems are too much ooo, gej is trying, appearantly people prefer someone who goes around shouting and making noises like ribadu,

gej is working, may not be getting it 100% but he is working hard to ensure that power improves,

I have been to the power committee website to see their plans, they seem in the right direction, even gbawe submission on the june 2011 promice shows they are working a plan, a plan that includes privitisation and efforts to create conducive environments for potential investors, plans dont always follow the allotted timelines.

So if the hatred of GEJ by people like Gbawe and kobojunkie will allow some objectivity they may be able to criticise gejs plans instead of his personnality.
Then u may want to say any of the following,
*the plan is faulty
*they are not sticking to the plan
*Not enuf creativity in getting investors. etc

demanding that almost 40 years worth of damages should be resolved in 2 years is childish to say the list.

Too often we relate strong leadership with vigorous actions and loud mouthness, like ribadu but after all the dust is cleared nothing really is achieved.
for instance GEJ has shown strong leadership in handling the perennial fuel queues, as a first step, and now pushing for deregulation of the downstream sectors via removal of subsidies to allow private investors.

if you say he is weak due to the sensitivity in handling the boko haram situation, would you say Obj is weak because ND militants brought him to his knees or fashola is weak becos Of the albatross tinubu, he has left hanging round his neck?

dont hate the player guys, hate the game

Guys common,
This guys has some negatives, in fact a lot, but if you critisize unrealistically everytime, then you run the risk of not been taken seriously everytime.

he celebrates-then we say he is blowing away money
he doesnt celebrate-then we say he is afraid

and the funnest one yet
he responds to a question he was asked-we say he is declaring his stance in a far away country,

Just imagin this dialogue with GEJ in kigali
Journalist: Why didnt nigeria celebrate the independence this year?
GEJ: To save resources, bla, bla
Journalist: Will this same thing be repeated in subsequent years?
GEJ: I have to wait to get to Abuja before I answer that question!!!

like some have said, there a difference between haters and critics

This is serious headache o. Sounds like you are about to commit suicide if you no see Tinubu inside your dream for just one second.

Relax, regardless of lairs and raging lunatics like you clogging the Internets with your madness and baseless stories that you clowns are either too incompetent to produce or just completely jobless nuisance, Lagosians are the most educated people and sophisticated electorates in Nigeria. They voted for Tinubu twice, they voted for his anointed assistant twice and the second time, it was a landslide victory with 82% of the votes, they voted for his wife with a huge margin.
Do you really think Lagosians are silly and dumb like you clowns? You clowns are really taking yourselves damn too seriously, especially you the resident degenerated liar.

Don't you know that everything that comes out of your mouth is nothing but lies? What lies have you proved? Nothing, just more mindless rubbish after more and more rubbish,

How long have you been regurgitating the same nonsense? Why not just take some time to show us what he stole from you? It's not hard for you to yell thief so it shouldn't bee too hard for you to show us what he stole.

I do feel sorry for you losers because your madness is limited to the political section of NL, and not the streets of Lagos.
@bolded
80% lagosians voted for Tinubu, we classified it as the result of an educated people and sophisticated electorates
if 80% of Nigerians voted for GEJ, we say it was rigged or dumb electorate,

definately Lagos will not be crippled or want that, but I guess most non yorubas looking at the way economic activities are structured over the years would find that almost everythking has to go tru Lagos, this is most annoying especially when other alternatives can exist, seaport, airports, fuel etc, only recently GEJ had to open fuel depots in the east after they had been deliberately left idle during the obj administration, then fuel for the entire nation was being supplied from Lagos.

I dont like the over centralisatgion of activiies in one place, its bullshit as far as I am concerned, oil center, financial center, fashon center, entertainment center, technology center, IT center, etc all being located in lagos

Akanbi_edu:
The greatest strength of the Yorubas is TOLERANCE. Though I personally believe it's a weakness in a jungle country like Nigeria. This particular attribute, coupled with competent administration that has kept the residents of Lagos secure, have been taken for granted.

Let the companies try other sides, they will definitely MISS us.

Now major oil companies have their hqs in lagos including napims, since 1980s before militancy started in 2006, but SW pple in trying to justify this rediculus situation come up wih all kinds of foolish reasons as if they are talking to dummies.(they propable think they are)

So, shouldn't you have shut your mouth and move on to your next silly post or thread instead of all the lies and dishonesty? Why keep making the same silly assertions and spewing lies?

Don't blame me because you are too dumb to know the difference between support and basically asking you to show us any proof of wrong doing against the man that you are trashing. Or you are just doing it for no reason like a mad man. You must have a reason, show us that reason, that's all I ask and that's not in any way the same thing as support. This is basic English so stop tripping all over yourself.

Who is we? I hope I'm not part of your we, I also hope you are not the sharpest guy in your village because with the way you reason and put your thoughts together, they are in trouble. I just told you I'm not responsible for the dumb lies and trash you clowns throw all over the place, I'm only responsible for myself and my quotes. Keep your "we" to yourself.

Only ignorant and callous people assume other people's guilt and trash them based on the same assumed guilt, not sensible people and so far, you are on the not sensible side. You don't even have to keep proving to me that you are a very insensible and irrational person.

You really are boring me with your senseless and mindless post,

Why do you ignorant clowns equate your lies and baseless accusations with truth?

Is truth not facts and  documented evidence that you can take to court to obtain conviction?

Have you provided that truth and facts? So what's there to hurt me in the first place? Your lies, rumors, innuendos and and baseless assertions?

You people are really competing for the best and the most qualified slowpoke on NL. It's even hard to make any sense of the things that obviously, you clowns don't understand, but just spew anyways.

By the way, the post you quoted did not say anything about Tinubu and the rest of your rubbish, you make false accusations against me about Tinubu based on your perceived and disgruntled Tinubu sentiments. You falsely created the impression that I was defending Tinubu with your quote when in fact, I said nothing, it was a whole different argument and line of thought.

Common sense and rational reasoning is not what's driving your arguments, it's basically hate and dislike for another man. You are so consmed with the same hate and dislike that you are willing to thrown anything out there and accuse other people with baseless accusations even when they didn't say anything about Tinubu.

You see now how hate and dislike consumed you and took over your basic sense of judgment?

Again, I don't know why you keep bothering me these ridiculous rubbish that I never said or even have time to debate with you.

Below is my post and the same you quoted and now bastardizing with your re.tardedness, ignorance, stupidity and lack of ability to read and comprehend.

Show us what your dumb rant has to do with what I said and how they relate.

Show us where I made any comment about ACN and PDP.

Would you like to show us where I made all the lies and silly assertions you are rambling about like deranged headless chicken.

Like I said, you people are a sad reflection of everything bad and disgusting about Nigeria, many are too clueless, uninformed, naive and unexposed which ultimately equals lack of basic knowledge about anything and everything.

You function on lies and dishonesty.

It's ok to have your paranoia about what I say or didn't say, but why let it turn you into a despicable liar?

I hope this is your last lie or any attribution to me about what I didn't say or do. If you have any gripe against Tinubu or ACN feel free to express yourself, that's your given right, but you have no right to lie and falsely accuse.

You can not even question other people's morality when you are morally bankrupt with lies and dishonesty?
eko ile, u r on a thread that is talking about the relationship between fashola and tinubu, and the curruption level of tinubu,
Someone as dumb, ignorant, stupid, idiotic, foolish and all round naive as me would like to know what you think about tinubu?
Such an easy question should not be too hard for someone of your standing in knowledge and analytical thinking,

I have to admit you did not mention fashola, tinubu or any other politician or political party in that particular post, i just foolishly assumed you were blindly supporting tinubu,

Please kindly clear the air, so that we the dumb ones would understand were you stand on this thread?

Please keep it simple, keep in mind that while you r right to ask for proof, we have stupidly accused Ibori, Ibb and others without proof in the past, we usually assume it common knowlwdge in the public domain that pple like odili, akitu etc are thieves,
Appearently this same common knowledge will not apply to holier then thou ACN god fathers.:,

I really don't understand your post and it's even hard for me to relate it to what I said in this thread .

My post did not say anything about Tinubu or any politician, but you still find your own crooked way to link it to Tinubu. Who is really fond of Tinubu? You? Me?

'Obviously you. It's obviously your misguided mentality that everything got to be about Tinubu even when his name is not mentioned or even referenced.

It seems you have some kind of point to prove, but you are following the wrong trail.

1. For your post to have any sensible affiliation to my assertions, we both must have said the same thing or I must have given you a reason to debate with me issues regarding conflicts of interests.

2. There must have been some kind of established facts that the former governor is in some way related to the companies which you and I don't know or have any clue about.

3. For you to make a substantive judgment about conflict of interests and personal enrichment, it means you have iron clad evidence that  these individuals are the owners of the companies you attributed to them.

4. Obviously, you don't have any proof to support your posts and needless accusations, you are just another poster running around NR with rumors and innuendos. Yours is even worse because nothing is more sinful than false accusations and destruction of other people's name based on nothing that you can proof or have any evidence to support.

You said that my post was about sentiments which I don't see since I mad no case about anybody's guilt or innocence, but you still went ahead and paint it to suit your own fantasies. My post was about Alpha Beta and it's contract with Lagos state, the company's effectiveness and people's lack of knowledge about the company and contract laws. I never said anything about Tinubu or any politician.

Obviously, the fact that you posted this little essay about conflict of interests and personal enrichment with zero proof to show us that the people you just blasphemed are guilty of what you just attributed to them ultimately shows you as the party screaming and yelling on sentiments.

On NL several politicians have been accused of being curupt, Ibori, Alams, Ibb, Atiku and i never saw you ask for proof, or irrifutable evidence as people of ur superior intelect like to put it, why must i now supply the kind of proof you want for Tinubu's issues.
Have u ever supplied irrivokable evidence that pdp is corrupt?

'your post did not mention tinubu' so therefore i should not accuse u of being biased towards tinubuhuh Very funny indeed, i support GEJ, not ashmed to say it, when when people truely critize him, i dont defend him blindly, since u say u didnt mention tinubus name, let me ask, from what u havfe heard so far, is he currupt or not? Did he abuse public office to enrich himself??
Pls dont tell me about needing evidence because we never asked for such for others, please try and be objective,
These holier than thou atitude is what is painting most ACN suppoters as hypocrites,

I have asked some important question on this furom before and i will ask again, if ACN is performing because fashola is performing, can we also say PDP is performing because of Rotimi? How can you accuse PDP of being run by a cabal and ACN is not?

Both same currupt parties but some pple still insist on replacing a currupt party that has national spread, with a currupt party that is run by tribal leadership,

Excellent Post.

Many of these people are too mentally corrupt to make intelligent decisions about contractual laws and fiscal public administration. Alpha Beta is the most sophisticated and efficient taxing system in Nigeria based on what they deliver to the state month after month. Lagos state is able to do so many things with tax money based on Alpha Beta's ever growing returns for the state, even the federal government is trying to hire the company.

Well, these folks are a sad reflection of everything bad and disgusting about Nigeria, many are too clueless, uninformed, naive and unexposed which ultimately equals lack of basic knowledge about anything and everything.
@Eko Ile,
i understand that u love tinubu and naturally would  want to defend him against percieved detractors in any way possible, but when ur guy is messing up, you should rise above sentiments to defend the truth,
If it is wrong when PDP does it, its also wrong when ACN does it, admitting the truth doesnt reduce ur love for your guy,
The contracts u are talking about were writing by the same people on both sides, how do you expect them to write this contracts btw the lagos pple and their private companies? In favour of themselves or the lagos pple,  Conflict of interst is the issue here, some financial benefits will definately get to the state, but there are deep rooted reasons why we complain about comflict of interest and abuse of office for personal enrichment, if we complain about dangote controling the cement industry with his connections in government or atiku using his advantage of previous office as a customs officer to control our nations ports with his private companies, and we see it as bad, even though they generate income for the national coffers, then we should see tinubu actions as bad, a spade should always be a spade weather its pdp or acn

Look at this case, a pastor was mistaken for a robbery suspect and he was paraded. It was later the court discharged and acquinted him after the church congreation has deserted the church. What I am saying is that anybody that concluded during tje trial of this man that he was an armed robber has commited a sin against him and God.

Burahi and Ribabu were really just a waste of political space, I have listened to both to try an get substance from what they intend to achieve and I dont think they really had much to offer.

My main problem with GEJ is same issue 99.99% of nigerians suffer from.
Believing that Govt will do it all,
build roads,
build universities,
Educate everybody
Build houses etc

We do not have the funds or resources to do all this, GEJ needs to cut down on what government is carrying,
Reduce the work load to to say 10%, concentrate on policies and and incentives to enable private investors to the remaining
else he will spend 4 years carrying all this load and achieving very little.

In the mean time Buhari should just shut up since he has nothing constructive to say.

@ Dalover,

Ecological Fund is a statutory allocation purse dt has nothing to do wt your national budget. It's just like your PTDF, ETF, et al. I honestly don't know how much it is worth currently, but its should be in tens of billions of dollars because its directly funded from oil and gas, mining and other ecology related economic activities proceeds.

Govt intervention doesn't always mean instant shelling out of money. Critical emergency r attends to first and a program is developed to solve d problem, wc could b multi-year. Then, funding Is arranged appropriately and committed to the fund. Thus it becomes a project for d fund.
I quite agree with you but there still needs to be some prioritization, abi?

Arguments from points of prejudice kill objectivity.

Coastline belongs to d FG.

Accessing d ecological fund is through standard protocols. Once d protocol is initiated, d FG is obliged to respond appropriately.

Now, there r emergency and disaster situations.

Emergency is when certain accident is beyond a state capacity to handle. It sends an emergency call to d FG and FG is obliged by same protocol to respond immediately to assess d situation and take over remedial action.

If during assessment, FG feels dt d damages is of great proportion, it declares disaster. When disaster is declared, certain other mechanisms r by dt activated.

Between states of emergency and disaster is d process and mechanism for accessing ecological fund. It's purely systematic and "NORMALLY" has nothing to do wt political nuances or geopolitical location.

It's purely irresponsible for anyone to assume and argue dt d FG is not obliged to respond to emergency calls from state.
*********************************************

Ocean body level rising might be a global phenomenon. Lagos beach line challenge is accentuated by man made activities wc d FG is inexcusable from.

Bar beach erosion was caused by d construction of a barricade at d apapa port inlet to prevent silting/sand deposition by cycling waves sweeping across d face of west Africa coast into Gulf of Guinea.

The interruption of d natural flow led to erosion problems downstream, wc is bar beach. FG actually solved d problem by sand filling d beach head, but dt in itself only pushed d problem further downstram to ibeju lekki area, wc is where u have alpha beach. Mind u, bar beach was sand filled to save VI. The environment effect of Eko Atlantic City will b very minuscule and if any at all, b further downstream. Someone is yet tshow me d environmental effect of VI creation. Of course it a mostly sandfilled place too.

So going by ds short explanation, d problem at hand is fully n FG obligation.
Now that you have established that its an obligation, limited resources means that not all obligations can be meet, hence the need to prioritize, we talk as if there is a bottomless pot of money somewhere,

for more the 50 years Lagos was federal capital and you ncannot see the underlying infrastructure placed there by various federal government that now provide the economic spring board on which Lagos is standing, maybe like other boastful lagosians u feel that growth in lagos is because they are actually the smartest in the country, well sorry if u feel that way.
Bar beach or else where, coast line is coast line and lots of FG money has been sunk there.

alj_harem:
my brother rubbish talk

lagosians boast because the LAGOS IS TRANSFORMING TO AN ECONOMIC HUB OF AFRICA

who told u fashola and tinubu are smart ?

even the EKO ATLANTIC is not for SG or fashola but banks in lagos

Now if rivers, cross river etc are sinking would it not make sense for the FG to do something about it before it becomes worse

NOT ONLY LAGOS

do not defend FG on this just because it is not the your state. This is a national issue, and as such from lagos to cross river, balysea, rivers, delta etc then FG needs to do something about it

chekena
well thank God it is been transformed into an economic hub, please tell them carry along the coastline in their transformation so that the FG can spend its money on those of us that dont have opportunity to become international economic hubs,

now i tell u are a really re.tard. so bayelsa that is relatively inland and is above sea level when compare to the world unlike lagos that is 2 meters below sealevel. bayelsa is above sea level

really u are indeed a re.tard
Guy have u bin to bayelsa at all? Making the loudest noise does not meen u have the greatest problem,

Ordinarily, there sould be no problem with the FG pitching in to assist the Lagos govt, but considering that so much has been poured into Lagos on this same coastline issue, the scarce resources at hand and the fact that other states have more pressing issues means that it be very umreasonable to commit another FG kobo to Lagos coastline,

With the way the lagosians boast about lagos, revenue should be flowing from lagos to the national cofers. The smart Fashola and Tinubu should be able to generate revenues from the coastline that can be ploughed back to regenerate or protect the coastline. to the national cofers. The smart Fashola and Tinubu should be able to generate revenues from the coastline that can be ploughed back to regenerate or protect the coastline.

It good to critisize but i think too many people are focused on his personnality than what he is doin

Generally, i have noticed that people are more comfortable with someone who plays to the gallery like Ribadu, making noises and shouting from roof tops,

For instance, GEJ's handling of the top brass of the security structure would be to subtlely ease out the top brass, people are more comfortable if the IG sack is announced immediately,

Take the case of salami, where the guy simple move to fill a void left by the suspension of salami, without waiting to see what the constitution say, haters jumped on the opportunity to slander his image more, now the dust has settled and people have realised that GEJ was calm and collected in his tots when he nominated a substantive replacement for salami, till court case is settled,

The hatrade issue has a lot to do with where is form, his personality, d fact he dared go against d northen power brokers, Not playing to the gallery for the southwest. Etc

GEJ is definately a man of his own, right from time, he has never been known to make brash decisions, he consults widely before making his mind up.

I don even agree with all his decisions but he was definately the best of the options that we had.GEJ was calm and collected in his tots when he nominated a substantive replacement for salami, till court case is settled,

I dont even thing the money exist with the FG, with the amount of national problems at hand,
in the past so much money has been spent on Lagos, by now we should be reaping the dividends of those monies and not be entertaining request for more money
CelebritiesRe: Nigerian Accent Ranked Fifth Sexiest In The World By CNN by DaLover(m): 10:42am On Aug 20, 2011
This tread has acually brought out the fact inferiority complex is big issue with a good number of nigerian, it tend to drive the way we approach issues when dealing with the outside world, and internally within nigeria.

CNN have announced what they feel their list is, an pple are argueing seriously against it, dont CNN have their rights to determine what ever their sexy language is? The fact that CNN released a lit does not make international standard, so it is very funny when pple ask how 9ja can take 5th position, CNN have simple list things the way they see it and inferiority complex have driven most 9ja peeps to c it defacto international standard, forgeting that NTA, BBC or AIT can always come up with their own list,

Another way inferiority complex has affected this discussion is the way we try to force our selves to speak like british or americans, wheneve we travel abroad or when we work with expert locally, y must we force ourselves to speak limes them to get them to undertand us?? I think it the subconcious inferior feeling that comes to play when ever we encounter white skinned people, e go bettger one day, some pple even when to the extent to show that we cannot be the 5th sexiest language because of our fualty pronounciations, forgeting that there is a clear difference between accents and pronounciations.
Someone like Babe believes speaking Good is when u can speak like an american or british,
others are argueing that there can be no nigerian accent becuase we have 200 different groups in nigeria, those pple should find out how many groups india has, and how we only know on one indian acccent, do u think nigeria is more diverse than india?

I think its also important to mention that CNN would probable have drawn their conclusions from interactions with several hundreds of pple from each of the listed countries, hence yoruba cannot be the language being refered to by mentioning sunny ade and omotolahe way they see it and inferiority complex have driven most 9ja peeps to c it defacto international standard, forgeting that NTA, BBC or AIT can always come up with their own list,

Nothing really,
the underlying foundations necessary for her to create something substantial do not exist,
I can mention many but here are 2,
The political structure of the country is still very wrong, it encourages lazyness at all levels,

And secondly, the industrilization necessary to start creating jobs, creating depth in the economy is still quite far off,

If you put the two resons together, you find out that we are not productive right now, hence it will be difficult to forge any resonable economic targets for now,

The best she and GEJ can do for no is to steer 9ja to a position primed for poductivity, tear down all the laws encouraging lazyness via bills or constitional amendments
