I and my gal are planning settling down despite genotype not matching , she's AS same with me, but because of medical technological advancements, we visited a specialist who told us that we can still marry if we so desired to be together.

Just that If we can afford the cost of going for foetus testing whenever she's pregnant so as to ascertain the genotype of the child. According to him if the test is conducted and it turns out to be AA or AS, we can keep it, but if it's SS we determate, I have spoken to my gal and we are yet a decide despite this seeming goodnews that we can still be together if we choose to, she really wanted us together same with me.
On my part, I have been in terrible and toxic relationship for the past 4years that almost claimed my life but God served from her. And this my current gal came along and she's exactly what I prayed God for, she's really like a gift to me, since she came I have had peace of mind I don't want to loose her because of genotype but thank God for this technically medical advancement , please I want to know if anyone have undergone this treatment before , what's your experience or experiences

Secondly, you said she's 18 and learning "Chemist". Please let her concentrate on her studies for now. If she start University education by 20 (considering WAEC and JAMB) she can graduate by 25 which is still a good age to start life. You can't say what tomorrow holds, being a medicine vendor without quality education is not the best way to face the future.

Seems like the script of THE BRIDGE (Yoruba movie).

The couples went against everybody's advice and got married - because they are dunk in love for each other. They did lots of genotype testing for the fetuses, and they kept aborting each time. The woman was taking it in until one day, she got tired of life and the whole abortion trauma. As fate would have it, they were lucky to get an AS at their 5th attempt or so. The woman, being a career woman, she was working from home and out of tiredness, she accidentally suffocated the baby at 2 months or so. All hell broke loss.....

Well, as for OP, I don't wish you eveik but if you can do away with getting married, for the sake of your conscience and extended family (in-laws inclusive), you need to let go. Go and find another lady. But if you insist, you can try getting either egg/sperm donor for yourself/wife (from an AA donor of course) then followed by IVF to transfer the developing baby into your wife's womb each time you want to have a baby. It sounds crazy though and it will cost you lots of money - I believe your love is worth more.

Nowhere in the entire context that is the Bible is it written or stated that what Jesus Christ said to the Canaanite woman only applied before His death. As a matter of fact, Jesus Christ, when He threw the gates open sending His disciples into the world, He urged them to wait for the Holy Spirit, the Helper from God, to arrive before they proceeded for that very reason. He, the Spirit of Truth, is a guide to lead His followers to those who Jesus Christ was sent to, the lost Sheep of Israel, who are in also among the gentiles. Jesus Christ sent His followers out into the Gentile world, to be fishers of men who are descended from the lost sheep of Israel, the ones who He, the good shepherd, was sent to gather back to God. undecided

Jesus Christ's word is the subject of this post. Now, there are foods that are meant for dogs and those meant for the children. The Canaanite woman prefer the latter abd that was what prompted the statement of Jesus Christ.

As you rightly said, Jesus sent His disciples to the last sheep of Israel. But, as soon as the Holy Spirit came, the Children's food became available to us all.

One of the signs was the tearing of the curtain covering the Holies of Holies in the Temple when Jesus Christ breathed His last on the Cross. Did you know that the curtain was ripped from top to bottom? That can only happen in one way: an individual "held" it at the top and tore it apart..so that What was "restricted" can be "accessed" by all.

PEACE.

Your claim that the verse signifies some shift from Law to grace is bullsheet! undecided

Jesus Christ is God's New agreement of Peace, a Law promised by God through the prophets with which to bless the Nations with. He is God's Law in the Kingdom of God and pretty much told you this when in Matthew 11 vs 28 - 30 HE explained that He offers you both a yoke and a burden to bear, albeit better than the old. undecided

The violent referenced are not those who are of God but the enemies of Jesus Christ- John 15 vs 14.

Just reading this today.

Okay, if you read up Matt 11:28-30 in a version such as The Message, you will get a clearer perspective of what Jesus mean by light burden - which is simply a different way of life which is different from what Religion has placed upon many of us as a yoke. If you're saying Jesus is a different version of God's law, you're not wrong, however, the coming of Jesus fulfilled all the Laws of God...and purchased for us what it takes to be in right standing with God - with His blood. John 15:13.

You will agree with me that none of the Holy Spirit's commandment is grievous please.

Hello guys. Please I'm not sure if this is new on CGI. My F1 visa was delayed about 3 weeks ago ,so while filling a new VISA application, I came across this page below. If I select No it will take me to document pick up location page and lastly payment page. However, If I choose YES, it will take me to the second screenshot.

Is this normal as I haven't been issued a Visa before let alone having an expired visa? Will this have any implication on being able to see a date .. just worried! Has anyone encountered this before? . Contribution /input will highly be appreciated .Thanks.

Seems you're trying to rebook a new appointment after making a new payment. You have to pick No so you can go to the oage where you will upload your payment details.

If you have done that, pls confirm if you are able to get a favourable date.

Thank you.

It’s been four days now and I haven’t gotten any mail to know my stand. Please, is there anyone in my shoes. And what exactly am I supposed to do? Thank you. I’ll be waiting for response.

Send a mail to support@ustraveldocs.com stating your request and your Profile number for them to approve your Emergency request. Or else you might keep waiting.

@farggie, I couldn't respond to your advise (about not going to the visa appointment separately from my spouse) on the last thread because it has been closed.

Pls, can you shed more light around how the interview was conducted? Did they assign different VOs to you and your spouse or you interviewed with the same VO at the same time?

I don't know if your spouse was asked what she will be doing in the US during your program, what was her response?

Can you also please share your transcript, you and I have certain things in common.

Thank you in anticipation.

Welldone for the good works.
Please I need your input on my case:

As an F1 visa applicant, I indicated I will be travelling with my family (of 4, myself inclusive), and in the DS-160 application, I quoted it there that I will be sponsoring their trip. Even though the school did not object to this (base on the balance on my statement of account) I have concerns in the following areas:

Will it be advisable we all go for the visa appointment together or should I apply alone and let them apply for their F2 separately?

If we all go together, I plan on using landed properties, business, and parents as tie to Nigeria, will this be acceptable??

OR can I simply tell the VO that the essence of their coming was for them to obtain their visa so that they can come around during vacations?

I appreciate every responses I can get to enable me scale through.

Thanks

Hello people.

I'm actually in some kind of dilemma at the moment and need help and advise.

I got admitted for a Master degree in Public health against Fall in 5 different US universities. Trying to secure funding In form of a graduate assistantship has been very difficult. All effort yielded to nothing.

I then decided to go for a student loan (Mpower) of $30k with financial support of $10k from a friend. My loan was declined just before I attached my financial support letter and statement of account. The reason was that "Your projected debt burden at the time of graduation exceeds our risk limits". This loan was supposed to be for a year/session. The estimated cost for a session study was $40k.

And I was really banking on this loan. At this point, I really don't know what to do. Would my loan have been accepted if I had attached the sponsor letter and bank statement on time? If so, I could file for an appeal.

Did I make any mistake while applying that worked against me? I need advise.

Thank you

Crime / Re: Nigerians Blame Banks For Negligence As Robbers Visit Homes With POS Machines by damilarelr(m): 6:40pm On Apr 22, 2020
POS machines are wired to take in PIN as the last information to input before the fund in the cards account will be moved to the account linked to the POS. The issue here is that for a POS to be able to verify PIN, it shows there's been a modification of its software..and that's a serious issue. Such POS should not be allowed into the Nigerian financial atmosphere.

CBN should direct all Banks with such POS to withdraw them from circulation and equally deactivate the lost ones with immediate effect. The truth of the matter is that Money can never be lost..even when it has been converted to airtime like what most of these fraudsters do, the telcos should help in identifying those who registered for the phone numbers.

Our NCC should direct all telsocs to maintain a single database for all of their Customers such that an individual can only have one number on a network per time..so that even when you misplace your number and welcome back is impossible, your information must be delinked from the lost line before you can be issued another one while the lost line will be deactivated.

A lot can be achieved if we have the right set of leaders who, if nothing else, can copy/replicate what other country does.. With full cooperation of the telcos, and armed forces, just any crime can be curbed.

If a wall is cracked and your solution is to paste another layer of plaster over it, that does not mean that the crack is gone. Changing churches does not solve the Op's underlying reservations about the bible.
I dare say, you may not even need religion to understand that a "God" exists. On the contrary, the past recorded accounts of events attributed to religion most definitely leads to a conclusion that a GOD like nothing in the holy books exists. I cannot understand a god who would sanction the numerous wars, genocides and rapes of the "enemies of Isra-el", or support the enemies of the Isra-elis when the tables are turned, and allow "his own people" to be raped and pilloried.

Help explain this!!!

Firstly, my response was directed at the Op - because his reasons for wanting out stem from biblical confusions. What you hear your Pastor preach has a way of establishing you and prevent you f dry om wanting to become an unbeliever.

Definitely, you don't need th he Bible to know if God exists. Everything around us speaks of His glory and majesty. I don't think I need to explain more than that.

As for the wars and retaliations recorded in the Bible, they are historical events of what happened to the Jewish nation - recorded for our own profiting today. Not that God hated/loved some people than the other, He's just being Gid when he allows it s as human to use the freewill given to us.

Why do we have good people and bad people? We are humans and we dominate this earth either by our own freewill or by being influenced by spiritual powers - good or evil.

1.Jesus is the only way to God, John 14:6
This invariably means those who don't believe in Jesus have no business in heaven.
Christians worldwide have an estimated population of 2.4billion people
Islam records an estimate of 1.9 billion adherents, Hindu has an estimated 1.1bn adherents. The remaining world's population have their own beliefs which includes atheism.
If Jesus is the only way to God, what happens to those who don't believe in him? Hell? Well, the Bible suggests so.

2. There are a lot of complications and contradictory remarks in the Bible- a verse says don't drink, another says "Drink for your stomach sake", or "Do not drink wherein excess."
Malachi 3:10 a famous Bible verse on tithing speaks about bringing your tithe to the storehouse (church, maybe)
Deuteronomy 14:22-26 says otherwise, it says "you should drink and be merry with your tithe". I'm seriously beginning to doubt the credibility of the Bible. Maybe the translators' fault or God told writers different stories on the same issue. Read Matthew, Mark, Luke and John's account of Jesus and see real contradictions.

3. Does God answer prayers? Well, I'm not really sure about that. Someone might be suffering from malaria, the person takes drugs and still prays, the drugs work, but the person thanks God. Or a successful surgical operation, instead of thanking the doctor, they thank God. Some illnesses that would have been treated led to deaths because a certain congregation who were supposed to take the ill persons to the hospital, circled around praying. Faith without work isn't it still dead?
I remember when I had stomach ulcer, it was really terrible, I prayed and made several promises to God that if He took away the ulcer, I'd drink no more alcohol and will be more devout in worshipping Him. That didn't solve anything though, I stopped drinking and took to taking my drugs more seriously. Weeks later, I was well. I returned to drinking and after a few months, the ulcer resurfaced. That was when I realized I really needed to quit drinking. Prayers wouldn't have solved that issue.
I spent 80% of 2019 at home because of my misgivings about God's existence.
I really wish I could be convinced about God's existence because I'm not even happy to be away from Church because of the views of friends and family.

4. Children of God, or so called children of God tend to suffer more tribulations, hard times and desperate moments, a lot of them scream "Vanity upon Vanity" when secular people live in luxury or spend extravagantly. God tends to turn his back on those who worship Him especially when they need Him most.
The 1933 Holocaust and mass murder of Jews to the tone of 6m was a clear indication that God turns His eyes against His people
Repulsive comments are highly welcome

Hey, I usually don't make comments here but this is important to me.

From your post, I can see it's time for you to change your church to a more enlightened one - the one where you can get answers to thousands of "why" about God, the Bible, your life etc. You need to hear deeper truths and revelations that will dispel all these thoughts in your mind before they even occur to you.

God is real. I leave you with this 3 movies for now - The Perfect Stranger, Overcomer, and The Shack.

I hope you find peace with God.

Religion / How To Pray Earnest Prayers by damilarelr(m): 9:34pm On Apr 01, 2018
The New Testament recorded two major prayers which Elijah prayed in the Old Testament.

'Elijah was a man subject to like passions as we are,...and

he PRAYED EARNESTLY that it might not rain: and it rained not.....and

he PRAYED AGAIN, and the heaven gave rain...'!!! (James 5:17&18 )

Wow!

Take note how the Bible defined the prayers of Elijah at the 2 different scenarios.

When Elijah wanted to stop rain from falling....the Bible said he PRAYED EARNESTLY!

But when he wanted to pray for rain to fall, the Bible said he PRAYED AGAIN (i.e. not earnestly)!

Now we have 2 kinds of prayers:

1. EARNEST PRAYER
2. SIMPLE PRAYER or ORDINARY PRAYER

Keep following..

Now let us visit the Old Testament to see 'how' Elijah actually prayed these 2 prayers: You ready?

When Elijah wanted to stop rain from falling, see what he said:

'...as the LORD God of Israel liveth, before WHOM I STAND, there shall not be dew nor rain these years, but ACCORDING TO MY WORD'! (1Kings 17:1)

Hmm....

When Elijah wanted to "pray" for God's judgment....he was only DECLARING based on his STANDING before God!

He did not go to a mountain to pray this prayer!

He only declared it with full assurance that it must come to pass!

This is what the New Testament called...EARNEST PRAYER!

'...and he PRAYED EARNESTLY that it might not rain: and it rained not...' (James 5:17)

But when it was time to pray for God's blessing that rain should fall, Elijah 'forgot' his standing before God!

The Bible said:

'...Elijah went up to the top of (Mount) Carmel; and he cast himself down upon the earth, and put his face between his knees,....' (1kings 18:42)

Aba!!!

In fact, he retained this posture while he asked his servant to go and check if there is a sign of rain SEVEN times!

Hmm....

Now listen carefully: The New testament did not term this second prayer as an EARNEST prayer!

Instead, it was simply termed 'prayer'!

'...and he PRAYED again, and the heaven gave rain...'!!! (James 5:18)

You see, under the Old Covenant, people had more faith in God's judgment than in God's blessing!

They make declarations to enact God's judgment but they believe they had to pray 'long' prayers to call for God's blessings!!!

Hear this: you are no longer under the Old Covenant practice! (Romans 6:14).

Start having more faith in God's blessings than in God's judgment!

It is NOT how LONG you pray....that guarantees answers to your prayer!

It is WHO you are praying to that guarantees answers to your prayer!

Elijah simply declared that ...'As the LORD God liveth...BEFORE WHOM I STAND...there shall be no rain'!

And God honoured his words!

Listen: You are the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD IN CHRIST and you are also STANDING before God...through the finished work of Christ!

See this:

'...by faith into this Grace wherein we STAND...'! (Romans 5:2)

So when you pray, simply declare your STANDING before God via the blood of Jesus, and command that situation to change!

This is what heaven calls EARNEST PRAYER!!!

You don't need to go to a mountain before God will hear your prayer!

You don't need to take a punishing posture like Elijah before God can send you rain!

Or else heaven will record that as 'praying again' instead of 'Earnest prayer'!

Simply declare what you want based on your STANDING in the finished work!

Did you know that what you have today Elijah never had it then??

Elijah was standing in his own righteousness!

You are standing in Jesus' righteousness!

Elijah was a servant of God!

You are a SON of God! (John 1:12)

In conclusion: please note that John the baptist was 'Elijah' in the New Testament. (Matt 17:10-13)

But the Bible says something very important about the status of a believer in Jesus!

'Verily I say unto you, among them that are born of women, there hath not risen a greater than John the Baptist: notwithstanding HE THAT IS LEAST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (a believer) is GREATER THAN JOHN THE BAPTIST'! (Matt 11:11)

Wow!

You are GREATER than John the Baptist!!!

You are GREATER than Elijah!!!

Stop begging God to send blessings to you!

Rather, start declaring your STANDING before God....and place demands knowing you are the righteousness of God in Christ...and you are God's beloved!

This is what the New Testament refers to as EARNEST PRAYER!!!

It works like fire!

Hallelujah!

Amen.

drstan:

Luke.16.16"The law and the prophets were until John; since then the good news of the kingdom of God is preached, and every one enters it violently.

Bros the verse is still saying thesame thing, during the law (moses time) and the prophets, nothing about the heaven was preached, but during john the baptist and even now,the Kingdoms is preach and people are rushing in violently, earnestly.

Is just that Jesus brought grace in the struggling and this make it now easy for us, is by the grace of God we are saved,

Philipians 2.12 International Standard Version
And so, my dear friends, just as you have always obeyed, not only when I was with you but even more now that I am absent, continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling.

How can you work out your salvation without contending violently against sin? One need to be violent with his self before he can work out his salvation,
The grace factor now come into play, by making it easy for us to contend.
Some time i will be contending violently with my self not to sin, but when the grace factor is there, I will just here it in my spirit, my Grace is sufficient for you to overcome this sin, and immediately I will overcome it,

Now those that don't contend violently with their self before grace speak, are those that fall into sin easily before realising, because they believe grace will speak for them when they ask for forgiveness, that why paul said In this romans

King James Bible
What shall we say then? Shall we continue in sin, that grace may abound?

Holman Christian Standard Bible
What should we say then? Should we continue in sin so that grace may multiply?

So bro, Grace is a factor in our struggling. Just like some one will say I need the grace of God in my exam, and yet the person fail to read,
So bro in as much as we struggle violently to enter the Kingdom we need the grace of God to stand firm.
Unlike those in the days of john, they were unable to stand firmly because grace was not there,
There were just violently forcing there way in

Luke 16.16
Amplified version
Until John came, there were the Law and the Prophets; since then the good news (the Gospel) of the kingdom of God is being preached, and everyone strives violently to go in [would force his own way rather than God's way into it]
So bro that the grace factor jesus brought into place.

Paul really contend for the faith violently preaching without fear, because of the grace factor that always speak for him when ever he is in danger,

hey Bro.

From your submission, the fact that we have to wrestle or work out our salvation doesn't mean what Jesus was saying the same in Matt 12:11.

Please read the post again with no preconceived idea. Open the scripture as you read. I'm sure you will get it.

Op, you have a very sharp brain. God bless you for this. If this is so, why then all the fire prayer everywhere in Nigeria?

My brother, there are many factors responsible for those "fire and brimstone" prayers. Some times people are affected by culture: they liken God to god thinking they can be served same way. Another factor is doctrine, some don't believe you are praying a serious prayer until you "take it by force" getting physical about it in shouting. God help us.
