Romance / Re: Am I Cheap?? Have I Slept With Too Many Men? by dammytex: 2:58pm On Nov 22, 2012
@OP, firstly you don't bring such topics to NL and not expect insults. You have to understand the rule of the game here first.

I don't think I'm a fan a 15 sexua.l partners in 4 years as a lady but I won't condemn you.
The fact that you think it might not be okay is a good start.

We are not saying you shouldn't be sexually active (since you have started already) but at least, caution the number of partners.

You already told him 5. Well, just move on with that line and hope he doesn't find out himself (altho that would be a little hard).
You are not getting any younger, so try to limit them please.

Reason number 1
He could be pretending for now to earn your total respect and trust completely so that when he starts, its just going to be all the way at anytime, anywhere and anyplace. Maybe he wants you to know he's different thereby requesting for a different service afterwards.

Reason number 2
Maybe he's just a gentleman. He doesn't want to take you unjustifiably so that heartbreaks won't be involved later. Or better still, he wants to achieve "sex after wedding" with you.

Reason number 3
Maybe he's just one of the rare good guys. He has another girlfriend and he does not want to just use you or he doesn't want to cheat on his girl friend.

My best pick. Nice one.

oyeleyemaureen: Pls bros don't deceive us. Where will you see it in nigeria where a download speed will be like 1mb/sec talkless of 14mb/sec or even more. Abeg park well bros. We no be mumu

lol
Actually, these speeds are for the entire site (A base station site just like the one you see near a mast). All users are to use these download speed. If you are lucky enough to be the only user on coverage of that site, you will actually get the max throughput. But this is 9ja, you might be up to 1000 data users on an EDGE enabled site, that's why you get the kind of service you get.
Sorry.
Phones / Re: Differences Between Gprs, Edge, 3g, Hsdpa, Hspa+ And 4g Lte by dammytex: 4:00pm On Nov 08, 2012
Nice write-up xcitedjay.

Taking it back a little;
we started with analog 1G system in the '80s (eg NITEL cellular) which was doing only voice call and wasting resources like frequency channels. We evolved into digital 2G system (GSM) which provides both voice and low rate data (eg sms) and also optimizing frequency resource.
We wanted more throughput for data and we got GPRS. This is good for FTP (File Transfer Protocols) eg email and browsing of text-based files.
We wanted more again and we got EDGE. This is good for real time chats and heavier downloads of almost any file both texts and graphics.
We wanted more again and we had to terminate 2G to migrate to 3G for more throughput and we got UMTS which is a 3G standard based on WCDMA technology as against TDMA that GSM (2G) was based.
In 3G, we could do video steaming and multitask with video, voice and data at the same time.
We wanted more and we had improvement on the 3G platform to HSDPA (14.4Mbps). This gave much higher throughput for higher services like video calls.
We wanted more again and we had HSPA+ (21 Mbps). This was good for higher bandwidth services eg online gaming.
We wanted more again and we got different variants of HSPA+. Bringing another frequency carrier on HSPA+ gave 21+21=42Mbps. Three carriers gave 63Mbps. So, eight different WCDMA frequency carriers gave a HSPA+ throughput of about 168Mbps. (only God knows what this high throughput is to be used for ooo)

And then, the telecom standards bodies wanted a convergent standard for voice, data, video, 2G, 3G, CDMA, on an IP platform and hence proposed LTE. LTE is the next big thing. We don't have it in Nigeria yet but my company has already made trials for MTN and Airtel already. MTN should launch LTE by next year. But for now, LTE is only doing data. Voice will come later.
For now, there is NO LTE standard in Nigeria yet.

Politics / Re: Have You Ever Been Ashamed Of Being A Nigerian? by dammytex: 1:03pm On Oct 29, 2012
NA wa oo
The question is simple enough and the answer is Yes. At one point or the other I had been ashamed.

But then, do you have any choice about where you'd be born. If we were to choose our own country of birth, who will choose 9ja.

Any day any time, I will always try as much as possible to be as proud as possible to be a Nigerian. It's not that completely complex being a Nigerian. If you compete well in school, you'd graduate with top grades no matter what. That increases your chances of getting a better job. Good jobs with a decent lifestyle earns you respect almost everywhere.
I work for a multinational and everytime I travel, I always flash my ID card at borders (trust my 9ja blood na) and I never get harassed.
In fact, I get a lot of attention when I deliver on my job and I also get to answer a lot of questions about Rashidi Yekini, Fela and Wole Soyina at leisure times.

Even in some countries like South Africa, you hear the SA ladies say they hate 9ja guys because of fraud and womanizing. But afterwards, they come running after us saying Nigerian men always know how to treat a lady and how to be gentle on a lady compared to their SA men.

So, work on yourself, stay away from fraud and crime, pray for our country. Also, Try to limit our export of funds in exchange for foreign medication, education and vacation. A lot of Nigerians have fantastic jobs here at home with only Nigerian degrees and we that treat ourselves in Nigerian hospitals are not dead yet.

May God help us.

Na wa oo.

Now you paint me disrespectful, heartless and inconsiderate in front of Nairalanders abi?

Shebi, you had your birthday party recently; only for another guy to be posing around you like Mr Right. You were cutting cake with him and you had a lot of intimidating pictures together.

So much for apology. Its not even up to a week.

It is very obvious you don't need my forgiveness. You moved on fine. And I can also he's rich and cute.
At least me too; I have goodwill even if I no fine...

hmmmmm;

you people were not there when I was calling and soliciting on my behalf..
you people were not there when I called only to hear "I'm very busy at work"...
you people were not there when I called only to hear a guy's voice in the background at night...
you people were not there when I called only to hear "can we talk later, I had a very long day"....
you people were not there when she was making her own yanga...

============ NOW =======================

The bible said the glory of the latter shall be better than the former.
formerly, the yanga was hers. latterly, the yanga is mine.

I have not even asked for a 5 minute apology to be aired on CNN and you are complaining..

By the way, how come its only the ladies that are commenting on this thread now?

Only on one condition;

If you can tell me you are sorry 3 times a day, at every 3 hour interval, on every 3rd day of the week, and on every 3rd day of the month

plus
C-300 Benz – 2012 model.
3 plots of land at Lekki phase-1,
3 million Naira check

Plus
3 wraps of pounded yam and eforiro soup
3 plates of snail, ponmo and goatmeat

Plus
3 tickets for vacations in Tonga, Tuvalu and Tokelau
3 Hilton reservations in the places above.

Maybe if you can apologize well with these, I might consider forgiving you, otherwise, we proceed to stage two of the apology sequence and of course this will happen 3 times…

Wait oo, did I say; "ONE condition"?
