The problem with Nigeria is that we have too many fools as human beings for political deception to work easily. The day we know we are indeed the wretched of the world is the day we will begin to work toward our liberation. All these things our political leaders are demonstrating as dividends of democracy are things that some societies achieved more than 200 years ago.To construct a few kilometers of roads and begin to advertise them as dividends of democracy in this century only shows how inferior we are as a people. 1 Like |

[quote author=dotunbidemi post=84698060] Ukraine was in a Waring state at that moment Crimea took advantage, Nigeria is in another state. We need a serious revolution in this country, I also have lost fate in this country, I just want to part with my tribe.[/quote Do you know what revolution means? I don't even think Sowore himself understands the meaning of the term. In my opinion Sowore doesn't look like a revolutionary. I will urge you to read what Mao Zedong wrote about revolution. |

valentineuwakwe: That tells you that Nigerian politicians are too backward to govern. Have you ever seen any of the political parties engaged in profound political discourse regarding national issues? You see Nigerian politicians behave as though they are children which tells you why Nigeria is such a backward country without any semblance of progress. These people are ill equipped to govern. 1 Like |

hisgrace090: Equatorial Guinea is not poor in terms of natural resources, especially oil. The country is a typical example of the failure of black people as regards development. With a population of less than a million people , Equatorial Guinea has huge oil deposits which ranks the country in the top ten oil producing countries in Africa but with little to show for it in terms of development. 7 Likes 3 Shares |

johnmattew: That is not true. No nation has built anything in Mars. Mars exploration is still new and open and no any major country has been able to explore it. The only place why where America and Russia are more dominant is moon exploration. During the early days of space exploration, China was very poor and technologically backward relative to the other two,so naturally its priority could not have been space exploration.Space exploration is expensive and that's why only a few countries can afford independent space station. As rich as Germany, UK, Japan and France are they could still not afford independent space exploration because their GDPs are low compared with either China or America. Even now Russia is struggling with its space program due to its economy. Much of what Russia achieved in space technology was during the Soviet Union era when the economy was good. The Russian lead in space technology was the reason America also began to explore space which led to the moon landing in the 60s.China has no any inferiority complex whatever. Their space exploration is as a result of their economic development and technology. If they don't have the money and the technology, they wouldn't have ventured into it. Concerning the released pictures of their space station, it is normal as every other country with space program does it. I have seen pictures of both American and Russian space programs.I have also seen a documentary of the Russian satalite launch site in Kazakhstan. |

franchasng: China is responsible for much of the reduction in poverty in Africa. Without the Chinese you will probably not have heard of innoson in Nigeria and Afrione phones. The Chinese allow their business partners in Africa to rebadge their products which is why you are all seeing made in Nigeria phones and cars. The Americans and Europeans whom we worship like gods will never allow that to happen. 5 Likes 1 Share |

helinues: None of present Nigerian politicians has the intelligence to lead a town in china. Nigerian leaders are low IQ people. China doesn't follow the fake democracy of the West which gives room for crooks and nonentity to be elected in the name of equality. The communist party of China selects its leadership based on merit. In china, people like Trump, Macron and some other western leaders cannot be president. 1 Like |

Stevecovey: The Chinese manufacturer is not to blame for the price. You should blame the conspiracy of Nigerian entrepreneurs for trying to rip off Nigerians in the name of local production. It will interest you to know that the same vehicle when imported in finished form does cost as much. Part of the arrangement of Innoson with BAIC, the supposed Chinese manufacturer of the said SUV,is that the finished one from China will not be sold in Nigeria, thereby giving Innoson price monopoly. Last month BAIC of China opened a retail outlet in South Africa with the original GL8 series conspicuously seen. 5 Likes 1 Share |

SoNature: The trade war was as a result of the huge trade deficit America has with china, for China exports more goods to America than what she imports. As regards China taking over from America, if you do really know how poor and backward China was before the reform and opening up, then you will appreciate the Chinese for having worked out a miracle. In the early 50s the poorest American state was richer than China. From 1978 upwards, China achieved extraordinary economic growth that in a little more than 30 years it came the second largest economy in the world. China might not have taken over from America in terms of nominal GDP and GDP per capita, but surely China is the world's largest economy in ppp terms. China is the largest trading nation and the largest consumer market. China also manufactures more goods than America. |

Nuzo1: Of course Lee Kuah Yew was young when he went into politics. What you should know is that Lee knew what he wanted to do having being educated in England. He hated the British rule in Singapore and was determined to make Singapore a great place. It is not the age that really matters but the knowledge of what you want to do as a leader. Let me tell you that the average age of Chinese communist revolutionaries who fought to create a modern China was 23 as at the time of the revolution. These young Chinese communists understood that china was backward relative to Europe and America and that they needed to do something to develop China into a modern country. In Russia, the older brother of the Russian revolutionary,Vladimir Lenin, was 17 years old when he was executed for attempting to overthrow the Russian king. What I am trying to say in essence is that you cannot compare a young Nigerian with little education and zero knowledge of history as to why Nigeria is underdeveloped with his counterpart in a more developed country. 1 Like 1 Share |

Earthquake1: What are u saying? Without government patronage Innoson would have folded up.many of you are talking as though the company belongs to you. Nigeria cannot manufacture vehicles for so many reasons, so the best we can do is assemblage of imported components. This is the reason assembled cars in Nigeria are not cheap. Even with that, assembly plant owners in Nigeria are ripping off Nigerian car buyers. They get a lot of subsidies for the components imported through low custom duties and still sell at exorbitant prices. The day Nigeria has the technology and infrastructure to manufacture cars that day will mark the end of expensive cars in Nigeria. 1 Like |

AZeD1: The problem is not the cost of doing business in Nigeria. The problem is we don't have the technical know-how to mass produce that could lower production cost. In addition to that we don't have knowledgeable entrepreneurs who are ready to invest in production in Nigeria. |

Nigerian politicians are very smart while the youths are very easy to manipulate. Commissioners do not perform much function as far as I concerned and they are meant to carry out whatever the governor deems fit. In a state, the ultimate power to change anything lies with the governor and not the commissioners. So appointing a 26 years old woman without any experience is just to give the false impression of good governance and to get the gullible youths excited and nothing more. The problem of Nigeria is not one of youth appointment, the problem Nigeria has is one of not having an agenda for development as Claude Ake wrote in his book,'Democracy and Development'.An average Nigerian politician, and by extension an average Nigerian youth ,knows nothing about development and how to approach it. Nigerian politicians are experts in fooling largely uneducated Nigerian youths by raising their emotions. |

Fallenhunter: Dubai is a city state while China is a country and also a continent on its own. Beijing alone has an economic output that is bigger than the whole of UAE. U can only compare Dubai with a district in Beijing. Saying that Dubai has better infrastructure than China is just as fallacious. Dubai can be covered in a day but u cannot cover China on a single visit. China is diverse and some places in the west are less developed than cities on the east cost. Shanghai alone is bigger in terms of economic and population than the whole of UAE.There are well over 700 important cities in China and you will have to cover those cities to really grasp the depth of China's sophistication. Another fallacious argument u made is about tech companies. China has more companies on Forbes 500 top companies than America and so many of these Chinese companies are hi-tech companies, so how come you said Dubai has more tech companies than China?I understand that Dubai is a great place, but you should also understand that UAE derives most of its revenues from oil with little or no tech innovation. On the contrary, China is an industrial superpower that manufactures almost everything. Shanghai has the world largest and longest subway system and the maglev. These are modern infrastructures by any standard. 16 Likes |

Fallenhunter: GDP per capita is not the only measurement of development. For instance Qatar has a much higher GDP per capita than China due to the fact that Qatar has huge deposit of petroleum and small population, will you say that Qatar is more developed than China that manufactures almost everything in the world? China has a space program that Qatar cannot dream of. China has the technical know-how to manufacture all kinds of advanced weapons, including of course the advanced fifth generation stealth bomber.China produces more engineers than the whole of Arab world .China owns some of the world largest multinationals such Huawai, Lenovo, ZTE, Haier, Hiense,Tencent,DJI,UISee,and several others.I don't think Qatar has any of these despite having a much higher GDP per capita than China. So, development cannot be measured by GDP per capita only. 1 Like 1 Share |

urahara: If Nigeria can achieve 5 percent of what China has achieved we will call Nigeria a developed country. China has decided to reject the 'developed country ' status because it will erode some of the advantages they currently enjoy from World Trade Organization. Mind you china has a population of more than 1.4 billion people ,so definitely it is going to be difficult to achieve balanced development across all the provinces. Taiwan is a breakaway province of China with its own political and economic system but without full independence because the government in mainland China still claims it as part of its territory. The population of Taiwan is around 23 million people with a GDP per capita of 20 thousand dollars. This island province of China has the same population as the the largest city in China, Shanghai, and roughly the same GDP and GDP per capita. In essence, there are many Taiwan in China with roughly the same standards of living and infrastructures . Cities such as Beijing, shenzhen ,Suzhou,Yangzhou,Xiamen,Guangzhou,Tianjin, changzhou,Nanjing, Qingdao, Harbin, Hangzhou and several others are as developed as Taiwan. The problem China has is its population and land mass which has made it difficult to have a balanced development. For you to have an idea of how wealthy China is, just take a look at the GDP of China in relation to the combined GDP of Africa. China, with a population of 1.4 billion people, has a GDP of 14 trillion dollars and GDP per capita of 10 thousand dollars. Africa on the other hand has a total population of 1.2 billion people and combined GDP of 2.2 trillion dollars. From the analysis above, we can see that China is almost seven times as rich as Africa. China is aggressively putting forward a measure which will see the country eradicate rural poverty in 5 years time. China has a lot resources to deploy to its underdeveloped parts to end poverty and the Chinese government has taken the right step. Neither of these large scale poverty reduction efforts can be undertaken in Africa because we have neither the resources nor the technology to deploy. So I think the poor Chinese have more hope than the poor Africans. 1 Like 1 Share |

efighter: They are crazy. They are in essence proving their slavish mentality. What do they expect the Americans and the British to do? America and Britain are countries just like Nigeria with tons of internal problems. When I was in primary school the impression created in me was that Americans and Europeans were super humans. Having read and become more exposed, I came to understand that the difference between these peoples and Africans is not that great. The difference lies in the ability of Europeans to use science technology to control nature, something we are yet to understand. Our backwardness has a lot to do with our inability to develop scientifically. It is not democracy that we should be fighting for, what I think we should be fighting for is science and technology. With science and technology we will able to transform our country in a more meaningful way and also earn the respect of other countries. Without having the ability to leverage science and technology to harness nature for the benefit of our people we will always be seeing others as super humans. |
