Which violence and threat to life? People are actually free to protest and make it uncomfortable in civilizes climes. Apprending civil right activists isnt a glorious tgin there too especially where their case is true and justified it draws attention to imperative issues. Not where unarmed protesters are used for target practice. What do you gain from being a greedy politician sympathizer? Are you Uncle Tom?[/quot Do you call those attention seekers civil rights activists? There are no civil rights activists in Nigeria. |
This is just the beginning, all those that have hand in killing of unarmed IPOB members will pay the price. All those so called Igbo leaders that sent dirty stinking Hausa/Fulani Yoruba soldiers to kill innocent IPOB members must pay the price. Any Nigerian politician that was directly/indirectly involved in killing IPOB members will face any action any moment. For those dirty stinking high ranking Nigeria soldiers,, you people will face it very soon, IDIOTS, anywhere you are seeing outside Nigerian, God knows what will happen to you. But these individuals are in Nigeria, why don't you attack them instead of waiting for when they will travel abroad? What if they don't live the shores of Nigeria, what will you do to them? 1 Like |

Foolishness. Majority of ipob members are in Nigeria and we are yet to see any attack on the so called enemies of biafra. Why don't they attack them in Nigeria? It appears that Kanu doesn't understand what he is doing. Revolutionary struggle is not for the weaklings the like we have in Nigeria, it is in essence for the brave and committed individuals with sound intellectual prowess. Neither Kanu nor his followers has the necessary intellect to achieve anything. There are just a group of unserious individuals who are trying to exploit their fellow kinsmen in the name of biafra. 1 Like |

Nigerians are funny people. With the level of corruption and malpractices in our education, is it worthwhile celebrating any feat? I have a friend who runs a coaching center in ondo state and he regularly takes his students to edo state for weac exams. I can categorically tell u that 30 percent of students who seat for weac exams in edo state come ondo state. I served in Akwa ibom state and there are thousands of candidates who travel to abia state to write weac. A cousin of mine who stopped schooling when he was in jss 2 entrolled in a coaching center and taken to edo state for the exams.Surprisingly this guy passed all the subjects at credit level. Education in Nigeria is nonsense and nobody should celebrate any feat. All the states of the federation are poor in knowledge which explains why we are this backward. Our university education is also nothing to write home about. Poor and unreasonable graduates abound everywhere. Our poor state of education reflects in our poor reasoning especially on this forum. I sometimes cry when I read what most Nigerian youths write on this forum. Nigerians are poor in thought and knowledge. |

Ayotemide: How are leaders being selected in your state and local government area? Do you think you stand a good of becoming a leader in local government area? What I hate is hypocrisy. You seem to be convinced that the north is the problem while your backyard reeks with rotten leaders. You don't have any moral high ground to condemn any region when your region is also sick. Besides, complaining about this and that will not solve any problems. Human beings have from time immemorial been complaining about death and sickness, have death and sickness gone?Truly Nigerian leaders are bad but complaining about their badness will not make them become saints.Abacha was bad, we had Obasanjo. Obasanjo was bad we had Jonathan. Jonathan was bad we had Buhari. Buhari is bad and whoever is going to succeed him is definitely going to be bad. Don't you think there is something about us that makes every leader we have appear bad? Don't you think our environment is the cause of our badness? Society shapes human beings and Nigerians are definitely products of the environment in which they grow. |

Nigerians are programmed people. Their reactions to any issues reflect their stereotypical programming. Hardly can they engage in rational discurse. If the bear animosity towards you, they condemn everything you say or do even if what you are doing is good. If the love you they praise everything you say or do even if what you are doing is bad. They don't debate issues rationally to arrive at cogent conclusion, what they do essentially is to condemn and insult. This attitude is typical of savages. It is really true that Nigerians are savages? |

EternalYouth: There are three to four groups of higher income earners in Nigeria. These groups are namely; the politicians, the importers of foreign goods, the executives of big companies and those who are engaged in the pillage of our oil. These groups of people altogether earn more than 70 percent of Nigerian incomes, while their economic activities generate less than 3 per cent of the country's employment.Tell me how can the economy develop with such negativity? The president might be wrong in saying that Nigeria has achieved food security, however, for Oby to have suggested that increased importation of food is the best way to tackle food insecurity is at best misguided. For a country suffering from chronic unemployment, increased importation of food, especially those that can be produced locally, will only generate more unemployment and make us become more insecure and vulnerable in the long run. The only way to achieve food security is to encourage local production of food that we can produce. I expect Oby, being an economist, to have understood the implications of what she is pushing for. This is a country that suffers from chronic balance of payment problems which results from offering fewer goods to world market. We run trade deficit with virtually all of our important trading partners ,the question is how do we overcome such deficit if we continue to import more than we export? We don't manufacture much and the few things we manufacture are for local consumption, how are we going to grow as nation with such a lopsided economic structure? I understand that there are issues that need to be addressed as far as agriculture is concerned. The security issue has to be dealt with for increased productivity. We have to build more infrastructure to lessen farmers' hardship, and most importantly, the government and private lenders have to make loans available for serious and hardworking farmers to encourage them. This is what is done in developed countries. They protect their agro sector through subsidies and other protectionist policies just to keep their farmers in employment. Therefore Nigeria cannot afford to loose its market to foreign agro products especially given the fact that we are not competitive in other sectors like manufacturing. There are Nigerians Who, out of greed, are ready to destroy their country to make money. In the North, the unchecked activities of smugglers have destroyed the once thriving textile industry which employed thousands of people. Nigerians are not ready to engage in production but are ready to import everything into the country because by doing that they make more profit. If we want overcome some of our economic challenges, we need to prioritize production, especially in the area where we still have some natural advantage like agriculture. Countries like America and Canada have over capacity in agriculture and are desperately looking for where to dump them. If we allow everything to be imported, there is the likehood of our market being flooded with cheap agricultural products with the negative results that many farmers will be out of employment. Bros I am interested in agriculture and I will like you to help me out. In case you want to help me start my own agro business, this is my number 08142987020.I will be grateful for any assistance rendered. Please I am not asking you to help me with money, I am asking for expertise. |

Nigeria is a backward and poor country from time immemorial, even before the British came. We have never created any wealth for us to think of enjoying wealth. The wealthy countries you see today started creating their wealth more than 300 years ago. This was the reason the wealthy European countries colonized much of the world during the early days of their development. The proceeds from colonisation were what they used to finance major technological advances which led to more wealth creation. No country the size of Nigeria can become wealthy without the ability to create wealth through the power of science and technology. In the early years of our independence, our leaders focused too much on politics than development,in addition to the fact that the Europeans and Americans did not really wanted us to develop in order to legitimize their racist convictions that black people are incapable of modernity. And this was the time the East Asians started their economic development by becoming the world manufacturing hubs. Today, the sacrifices of the Chinese, Koreans, Singaporeans, and Taiwanese have paid off by having some of the world's largest multinational corporations in electronics. When you think of electronic you think of East Asians with global behemoths like Samsung, LG, Hiense, TCL, Panasonic, Sony, Cannon, Acer, HTC, Haier, Skyworth, etc. These multinational corporations generate billion of dollars in revenues in addition to creating million of jobs. They take the front seat in scientific and technological innovations with billions of dollars worth of R and D centres in addition to supporting innovation and research in Universities. While in Nigeria, especially with the discovery of oil, we began to build our economy around oil,an extractive industry the technology of which we don't have to actually take control of it.Our leaders were too naive to realize early on that extractive industry does not generate enough employment. For example, oil gives Nigerian government about 80 percent of its revenue but generates less than 2 percent of the total Employment. When we compare this with the Chinese economy, it becomes obvious that building economy around extractive industry especially by a populous country like Nigeria is unwise. The manufacturing sector in China accounts for 45 percent of the economy but generates the highest rate of jobs. Manufacturing generates jobs and lays a sound foundation for technological development. But if any of you think that Nigeria is going be rich with oil only, such a person will need to have a rethink. The problem we have now is that we have created so lazy, corrupt, unreasonable and uneducated population to start any meaningful development. Our political leaders are busy dividing us for their selfish interests without us trying to study to know why Nigeria is poor and backward. Nigeria will continue to slide into poverty because we don't have the means to create enough wealth for our people. Wealth creation is communative. We are suffering today because those who lived before us did not create any wealth the same way those coming after us are more likely to suffer because right now we are not creating any wealth. Heineken, a Dutch company, began as a family business more than 150 years ago and today it is a multinational corporations spanning four generations. Our problem is our inability to create wealth. If you sucribe to the naive argument often made by politicians that Buhari government has made Nigeria poor, you are only allowing yourself to be brainwashed.Nigeria has always been a poor country and will continue to be poor simply because we don't have the means to create wealth. I don't think any government can make Nigeria rich in the next 250 years even with the best of intentions. Five or six generations will have to be sacrificed, and of course, this is what we are incapable of doing. But we will keep on hating whoever that occupies Aso Rock, especially if he is not from our tribe no matter what he does to move the country forward. |

Gracemadeit: Buddha and Confucius lived and died before Jesus Christ was born. I have read part of analects and there is no place in it where Confucius said he is not the way. The only thing similar to this that Confucius said was when he was asked about whether there is life after death, and he said why do you worry about death when you do not yet understand life. Buddha was a wise man who always insisted on his followers using their rationality instead of blind obedience that we see in Christianity and Islam today. These two great ancient philosophers never attempted to divide people, instead they preached morality and universal peace and no-violence. They would definitely have spoken again God's eternal punishment of people being burned in hell unlike Jesus and Muhammad who cherished eternal damnation. Buddhist and Confucian philosophies are not being used to create hate and division among human beings the way Christianity and Islam are being used. In my opinion, it doesn't matter what religion one follows one has to learn a lot from Buddha and Confucius. This also applies to Jesus and Muhammad irrespective of their shortcomings, because every religion figure has his shortcomings. |

MyVILLAGEpeople: Most religious people are irrational. Saying all this doesn't mean people will not use their rationality to determine what faith to follow. Most importantly, the fact that the woman in question said Jesus Christ is the only way does translate into anything. Adherents of other religions do lay claim to the rightness of the founders of their religions. Nigerians are more concerned about what the will eat than this nonsense. 2 Likes |

Nigerians are animals. They find it difficult to create good things but find it convenient to ravel in what others create. Why is it that we have not been able to turn any part of Nigeria into a global haven for for tourists?I have said it several times that we are not human beings. |

Nigerians are too backward and corrupt to provide good leadership. We still behave very much like primitive humans who lived thousands of years ago. It appears that we are less human than other human beings. Uche Secondus was making the remarks not because he knows what good leadership means but because he has yet to come to terms with his party's shocking defeat in the last elections. I am convinced that Nigerians are too irrational, tribal and religious to be able to provide good leadership. 2 Likes 1 Share |

tunary: And you think by carrying out the said revolution things will begin to change. If that's your take, then u are deceiving yourself. Mark my words, unemployment will continue to worsen in Nigeria no matter who is power and the system of government. It is just that we don't have the means to create jobs in addition to low skilled manpower. South Africa has a more developed economy and also has one of the highest unemployment rates in Africa. We are suffering from lack of scientific and technological development as a country to generate enough jobs in addition to high population growth rate. |

philos: Don't be deceived by the write up. This is what politicians do in a backward country like Nigeria to sway the masses. They will try to paint the political scene as though it is a war situation. Two things are responsible for this state of affairs. The first thing is that Nigerians no longer believe in the lies they often hear from their politicians, hence ,the need for aspiring politicians to engage in verbal religious and tribal wars to control the masses. The second thing is the eternal battle for Nigerian oil. U should know that whoever controls access to Nigerian petroleum controls the nation. The politicians are scrambling for the control of oil because it will enable them dispense patronage and enrich themselves to the teeth. In the cause of this they will have you believe that their struggle is ordained by God to appeal to the religious sentiments of their followers. So my friend there is nothing that is happening in Nigeria that has not happened, or for that matter, that will not happen in the future. It is just the scramble for oil wealth. |

wowcatty: And you think restructuring will solve any problems. I respect your opinion, but the solution to Nigerian problem is not restructuring. We are just too backward a people to work out any system. During the military era, people were saying that democracy would solve all Nigerian problems, after almost twenty years of democracy, has any problem been solved? Our problem is that we are too backward and I don't think we have the necessary mental ability to create a wealthy modern society. Take a look at Gabon, a country of 2.5 Million people and one of the leading exporters of petroleum in Africa still struggling with poverty. You should also take a look at Equatorial Guinea, a country of one million people and the 5th largest exporter of oil in Africa still finding it difficult to provide basic facilities for its citizens. Take a look at all sub-sahara African countries, you are going to see the same level of poverty. It seems something is wrong with black people. 1 Like |

The difference between China and America is that china has a long term goal while America has a short term goal. Phut: I understand your point of view. But you should understand that many young Nigerians are ignorant. They are prepared to worship the white people forever. They don't believe the white people are as corrupt as black people, even more corrupt. This is the psychological effect of colonial rule, underdevelopment and racism. All this has generated what is called self-hate among black people to the extent that they no longer see themselves as complete humans. We hate ourselves so much that we find it difficult to work together to build a better society. Yet we are ready to die for those who brutally colonised and sold us into slavery. It is when we travel abroad and face painful racism that we begin to seek solidarity among ourselves. 3 Likes 1 Share |
