The usual. Use all Manhattan 6 books for Quant, Kaplan For Verbal, follow GRE official guilds, join GRE forums and YouTube channels. Read ooo! And give yourself time to prepare. I started GRE preparation since June and I had to reschedule my exam at a point.

I would advise against using Manhanttan & others. The only book you need are the official GRE books plus paid practise test. The rest na jara.

Hi everyone, i hope you are doing well. I found links to official GRE books and thought to share.
I would have shared the links directly here however to avoid a DMCA takedown (meaning oyibo people go delete am), i would only share the instructions on how to get them.
1. Go to libgen.rs
2. type the name of the books into the search bar and press enter for example "The official guide to the GRE test"
3. Click any number from 1 to 4 on the mirrors column
4. click either cloudflare, ipfs.io or infura to download the books.

You would find pdf's of every GRE prep book there. You can also find soft copies of any foreign textbook, novel, ebooks that you could possibly need.

Happy studying and stay blessed.

Very very relevant. Systems, embedded and high performance systems use C++ heavily. Even javascript is built with c++. It's not going anywhere anytime.

Programming / Re: Programmers, How Do You Cope With Generator Noise In Your Area? by DanjaNinja(m): 3:50pm On May 08, 2021
Use ear phones and play the sound called brown noise. It sounds like rainfall and blocks out all the surrounding noise.
I am very sensitive to background noise when studying but brown noise completely changed my ability to focus in noisy environments.
Here's a link to brownoise

Hi Everyone, hope you are all doing good? I know i haven't posted in like ages. Thing is i may not be the most informed person with regards to the GRE anymore. I graduated over 3years ago, got married and i have two kids now. grin grin Time flies like a rocket. I just did an update to the main post on the first page to show the changes that i have observed. If you have suggestions that you would like me to add, feel free to tag me and i'll make the update accordingly.

While i may not be at the fore front of the GRE, i've lived in the US for 5years now and would be happy to answer questions related to life in the US. I do not make any guarantees on responding in a timely manner (my kids take all my time) but i would try my best to answer your questions.

Stay blessed.

Pay attention to your surrounding. Do you have your phone with you when you are "studying"? Cell phones are major distractions. Additionally, check your diet. Studying with an empty stomach is a recipe for disaster.

I agree with everything you said except the word luck you mentioned. I am anti-luck person because its more of a negative than positive.
Meanwhile, non of those would make me a billionaire or even a millionaire. Would just keep me among average earners which I dislike, I'm currently ruminating on ideas that would make me a billionaire, if you have better suggestion, kindly give. Also, please don't mention prayers or any old beliefs that never worked for any Nigerian. I'm a realist

Bro, please change your perception. Luck is a result of healthy and positive affirmation and believe that positive events would come into your life. If you hold the believe that you are "anti-luck", you are in effect attracting unpleasant experiences into your life since you expect them to happen anyways. So, change your mindset. Believe you are lucky. Do things that increase your chances of success and you would be surprised at the outcome.

Wow
This post makes me feel people are lazy. I work non stop for 10hours on standing while doing dreads for people.
When I do graphics, I do from morning till night, when I'm sewing cloths I do from morning till night with only short breaks for prayers and when I'm not praying, then its a non stop till I finish.
I remember when i was in university, When I read, I read for 24hours with short breaks for solat and water.
If its by hardwork,I should be a billionaire by now,but I'm still not. Being wealthy ain't by hardwork

The jobs that you have listed do not require any strenuous mental capacity. And as such, even though i understand you are exaggerating yet possible telling the truth, your examples hold no relevance here. Coding is a different beast entirely. It's one of the most mentally exhausting work you can do. It might not be physical but it's quite hard.

Maybe you should try using a laptop to learn the skill and also, don’t make the mistake most starters make in learning a new skill I.e trying to do 10 hours daily right from the very first day of learning the skill. Just go with your pace and start as low as 1hour or 30 mins daily and increase it gradually.

In learning any new skill, consistency is the secret to mastering the skill. Learning the skill 30mins every day is far more productive and better than learning it 15hours once a week.

That daily consistency will make your brain to fall in love with the new skill you are learning and you will start enjoying the new skill and become addicted to it.

Try this approach and you will be very proud of ur self after few months but don’t forget to give God all the glory

This is an underrated and quite solid advice!!! I spoke about this on an earlier post. Consistency is key. You don't need 5 or 10hrs. If you can work consistently for 2-3hrs daily, you would be amazed by the level of progress you make.

I even code more than 5hrs per day. What gave me that edge was a serene environment that is free from noises and any kind of disturbances.
There is always light and a very good New ASUS Laptop M409BA model of 8Gig Ram and 2 Gig AMD Radeon Graphics card.
Sometimes my neighbours thinks I have travelled because I hardly went out.
Programming is fun at the same challenging. I love it and I like it.

Nothing beats a quiet, serene environment. However, can you elaborate more? Do you code for 5hrs nonstop or do you take breaks? The devil is in the details.

I'm about productivity though I feel I need to stretch my learning hours a bit as I'm not satisfied with going 2 hours and losing interest after that period. I'm trying to stretch myself though.
And maybe I haven't been using the right approach and I'm not patient enough cos' I usually Google 'how long' to master a particular skill and get overwhelmed by the feedbacks.
Lastly, I'll experiment with the resting and coming back technique.
Thanks boss

It’s seems your focus threshold is 2hrs. Mine is 2hrs30mins. And that’s quite normal. On average, the human man cannot focus on work for more than 3hours at a time. Here’s what you can do. Have two session - one in the morning and another in the evening. Bothe 2hrs, that’s a total of 4hrs. You should make good progress with that time.

The secret of the longivity is passion bro...... The love alone for what I do keeps me going not money, because I don't care about money...

I am not exaggerating, I spend over 6hours on video editing... I stay up all night from 11 pm to 4 or 5 am editing video on adobe premiere or typing my books or on the internet scouting for amazon keywords, or on YouTube learning stuff on my filming field...

It's the love that keeps me going bro... Nothing matters more than passion for an interest...

Programming is a very different activity from video editing. Your advise is commendable but inapplicable. Programming involves high level mental data processing, holding extensive information in short term memory and processing several code pathways simultaneously. There’s a finite amount of time & energy the human brain can engage in such activity daily. For me, on a good day it’s 5 hours max. Not back to back. But split bw 2hr 30mins blocks separated by breaks. Anything longer and I’m just wasting my time. Other days, I don’t even get any work done. You can strive for a daily productive 2-3hrs. You would be amazed by the amount of progress you make if you are consistent.

As for op, check your work habits.
Do you study/code with an empty stomach?
- food helps keep you energized and focus.

Do you study/code at the end of the day or beginner?
- this matters a lot. The beginning of the day has less distractions in general. For the end of the day, your mind is tired and getting ready for bed.

Do you study/code with your phone or distracting websites by your side?
Constantly switching between coding and surfing weakens your ability to focus on getting work done. Eliminate all distractions, you would be surprised at your productivity.

And lastly, avoid drugs. In short term, you might be productive m. In the long term, you are bleeped

There are so many zombies on this thread. Many don’t even know the details of the court case. The court dismissed the case cos of the statute of limitation. Meaning too much time had passed between the crime and when the case was filled. Please note dismissing a case based on statue of limitations does not mean the accused is innocent intact, if any thing it tells u the accused is guilty but the judicial system would not hear the case cos it happened a long time ago.

What has my personal choices got to do with national development? If entertainment was my thing, I would gladly audition for BBN. Many BBN ex house mates have utilized the platform to build their lives.

If your government provided infrastructure and the enabling environment, do you think many would be this invested in an opportunity to appear in the show?

Your argument is funny. So who organized their country? Government is responsible for developing a nation. BBN is just a tv show meant for entertainment. It's like saying Nigerians should not watch premier league until we have a developed nation.

Nigeria has had little development even before the arrival of BBN. BBN is a tv show. I hope France, Germany, USA you mentioned have their own high poverty indices and out of school children, terrorism on same scale with Nigeria especially electricity and fuel price hike? We are super swift in our lopsided comparison with foreign countries where things are working (at least basic amenities).

I'm glad you highlighted the challenges faced by the average Nigeria. BBN is a tv show. It is not the job of a tv show to fix your country. The nations i highlighted all have functioning governments who provided extensive resources to help their citiziens thrive and survive. What has your government provided?

To implore the need for work before play is a lazy argument as your nation does not provide any resource to help with work. Every year, thousands of Nigerians graduate with no hope of securing a job. What is your government doing about that? . And please don't blame the youths - we have been told we are the leaders of tomorrow but every influential political position is held by old fossils.

And in what way does Nigeria compare with the countries u listed in terms of development and standard of living

I honestly don't get your point. The fact that you share this sentiment is a reflection of your lack of understanding of how nation development and standard of living works. How has BBN affected standard of living? Is it the responsibility of a TV show to develop your nation? You all watch and support Premier league. I don't see anyone complaining about the role of EPL in nation development and standard of living.

The nations i mentioned all have leaders who provide extensive resources to support their citizens in achieving success and growth in life. And please be aware the leaders of those nations are not youths.

What resources do your leaders provide? Go face your corrupt senators, governors and president and leave BBN for those who like it.

I always knew Nengi was "forming". She likes Ozo. Some ladies enjoy the chase. They believe that playing hard to get is a vetting process that verifies if a man truly loves you. Problem is playing hard to get is a double edged sword and guarantees nothing. If you overdo it, the guy might lose interest and move on - verying your false assumption that the guy never liked you. But If you don't, some guys may see you as "cheap".

It's a dicey one. Truth is, nothing guarantees anything. Just take a chance and see how it goes.

we heard "she cheated with a choir master",
We heard "she packed out of the house",
we heard, *he was beaten up by her brother"

We only judge his one action of murder..which of course is murder i.e taking a life.

We shouldn't just rush to conclusions and nail the man, of course the law will take it full course.

Most Women uses emotional blackmail to nail Thier husband's. If he hasn't shoot her , she will have use emotional blackmail to defend her wayward lifestyle. That's the other side of the coin.

But again nothing justify murder.

Again you are making hasty judgements based on “we heard”. You heard but did you see or know?

Even if she cheated, which I highly doubt, does it give this man the right to take her life?

And from the video, it is obvious the man is the abuser. Please note, It was the woman who filed for divorce and moved out of the house. Abusers and oppressors never file for divorce because they have the upper hand.

Black man, I keep wondering why nature cheated on black man by making the black race unable to lead themselves to light in their own lands, its a fundamental problem of the whole black race; lack of coordination, lack of maintenance culture, dirtiness, wickedness, selfishness, laziness, disorganized and uncreatively foolish, but very good in financial looting and kleptomania angry

Our greatest flaws as blacks is the inability to work collectively towards a common goal. Blacks, specially Nigerians are individually exceptionally but collectively incompetent. That’s why you find Nigerians thriving abroad. They thrive cos of the infrastructure collectively built by westerners who are adept at working together towards a common good.

I used to think the west was responsible for our failure as a nation but I have since come to understand that we are not a society that understands how to collectively work towards a common goal. We strongly believe in individual excellence and I better pass my neighbor.

Last last, Individual excellence in the face of collective failure is still failure.
