Nobody is discouraging you from coming to the US we are only preparing you on how to come to the US, We are only advising you on what to expect in the US oga benom some of us done finish our masters way back 2007 ,  you need to be prepared so you dont come expecting A and u see Z,   even if people advising you didn't come with there tuition fees and they take out time to advise you on what they feel you should know you should be grate full, 
i know i am not the only 1 who have visited america but and i hope more Nigerians are giving the chance to come and better there lives here but you should also know the bitter truth except your intentions is to come and hussle, but if u wanna go to school and you successfully deceived the EO that you gat 30million and you are issued a visa with the intention to come and hussle for your tuition fee in america   

Like justwonder said you would end up loosing both and you dont want your enemies in that situation soo prepare yourself, the reason i started advising pple is because recently a very good friend of mine just got into US on student visa and couldn't complete his registration immediately the session started the school mailed immigration and immigration sent a mail to the house he filled on his landing card right now his runnimg from pillar to post his blood sister is of no help to him less than 4 months in america his outa status , soo  a word is enough for the wise,

Make sure you will get scholarship 'cos you will be disappointed with those your friends/family members financially as they struggle with their bill. You even pay for looking in the US monthly.

You know say when you they tell ignorant person something him go feel say him know everything abi maybe na E channel wey we dey watch na him dey deceive us abi na the picture wey we dey see for television na him dey worry us, People are still deceived on the reality of the united states ,  if you dont have your complete tuition fee from Nigeria dont bother coming except u have made up ur mind to come and hussle,  leave what uncles and aunties are telling you leave what your friends are telling you and make sure you have yourself sorted out , 


Scholarships lwkmd i once met a Ghanian in Canada he was in the university of mannitoba and he was on scholarship studying something in engineering i think it was half scholarship or soo am not really sure,  and i asked him what are the chances of a person getting scholarships he said his was from Ghana, am not saying its impossible to get but for those who eventually get lucky u, 

ojap and the rest should come and explain what is happening to them in America and advice people coming on what n what they must have, if  you have your money please come if you dont have your tuition and you are hoping to get assistance from friends and family   you would be disappointed infact if care is not taking suicidal, come prepared who never come no go know i remember the 1st time i was in england after ma friend promised me heaven on earth i went and my 1st day in england i slept on the cold bare floor and the next day my neck don break finish i was like WTF infact ma friend himself dey squote  that was a long time anyways since that day i realized that all that glitters aint gold, congrats on those that have collected there study visa and i wish prospective applicants all tha best

@House 9ice thread well my 2cent for those of you who would be coming to the US come Jan 2011,  am gonna advice you realistically on what i know happens in the US , coming to the US to improve your chances in life is not a bad idea but at the same time you must be careful in as much as the UNITED STATES is a land of opportunities it could also be a land of misery and psychological torture if you are not mentally prepared, getting a visa to the united states tooo miii signifies the beginning of your hussle in life but people sometimes think it is the end and life cant get any worser,  its good you understand that life anywhere isnt a bed of rose, just the way you cant pick money on the streets of Nigeria that the same way you cant pick money on the streets of america and the bills compared to Nigeria comes in every month soo please am happy when i see thread members go to the embassy and are issued visas,  so please as you come for your studies come Jan pls make sure you are prepared FINANCIALLY AND PSYCHOLOGICALLY note that coming for vacation is quite different from coming for studies because even after your done studying getting a good job is another crazy task on its own,  i have seen lots of Nigerians here with students visas derail they are neither there nor here, and again dont believe everything you are told on the phone,  as a student am sure you all know you cant work for at least a year getting jobs on campus is like waiting for the world to come to an end ,  be prepared PSYCHOLOGICALLY thats very very important

I dont think soo, 1 time i traveled via gatwick i met this guy at the airport and he was travelling with TC he wasn't thumbprinted but that was 2007 or 8 not really sure, but on that very day he wasn't thumb printed we got jisting in the plane and he told me how sad he was for overstaying in the uk for uk 2yrsss,

@masepat i congratulate your courage for coming back to share your experience and i understand how you feel i felt that same way three times i repeat three good times for those who got there visas of wa ever category on the 1st attempt on a virging passport God really was with you, my advice to you is simple  failure is some1 who dosent try again after defeat right now your not a failure but you would be if you give up on themm, also i have carefully gone through your interview as posted by you you already had that visa the interview went soar when he looked at your i 20,  $40.000 multiplied by 150 is 6million naira is it realistic yesss but how comes you had 2 sponsorsss if you had just 1 sponsor with the said amount and you proved beyond reasonable doubt that your sponsor was capable trust me you would have gotten that visa , but 2 sponsorsss too me it sounds sketchy, they know say naija get moneyyyy money no dey yankeee , had an interview similar to this in abuja 2008 everyfing went well until i lost concentration when he asked the last question he frowned and asked me again i repeated same thing and i was denied, do your homework well and go back , God has a plan for everything trust me at his appointed time when he knows you are ready for the unforeseen you would get ur visa, i thank God i got mine when i did i was a lot wiser and matured,

I can see from the way ur ur interview went You just graduated from the university 1 little advice as u pack your bags to the US, be humble you where just granted a student visa and you insulted the whole house b4 sharing ur story, like i have said and would always say because people come on nairaland to interact dont mean we shud be rude to people i mean its obvious u werent in the university when some of us completed our masters, i wish you al tha best but note that the hussle never ends infact inyour case it just started i mean it just started ask people who have been granted study visas let them share there story, no ajebota for yankyy , i wish u all da best,

@dantecmu, Dude i dont think you are in the position to advice anybody to apply for visiting visa instead of student visa because of money issue.Nobody is saying the educational journey will be easy but with hardwork and positive mind things go better.
This thread was created for us to encourage each other in relations to studying in the USA,if we all want to get yankee visiting visa we know where to go.

femiap from ma own analysis i know 70percent of applicants for F1 visa know from the beginning if they can financially afford the tuition fees or not right from the onset well unforeseen circumstances am not ruling that out , my advise went out to those who where finkin of coming to the US through a means to immigrate into the system , visiting visa still remains a better means than student visa because wif visiting visa you wont be faced with as much financial stress as you would be with student visa any means still remains a means , like i said we all know ourselves and what our intentions are, as regards to OJAPS case his in his in so no looking back but at the same time like a broder would advise a broder i have advised him,

Having carefully read tru ur post its gonna be difficult for ur sis to get a visa but not impossible, her status has to chenge she is 23 and has no source of income meeennnn and she has a child and no husband and she previously applied for a settlement visa and now she is applying for a visit visa wif her child her only tie back home in naija, this case in soo straight fwd the ECO feels she wanna run away as in if na me i go feel same fing if na u u go feel same fing, her status has to change probably she shud finish her training open up a hairdressing saloon and the she should apply alone, at 23 in Nigeria some pple gat steady income and have ties back home i started travelling when i was 21 and i sponsored maself , well fings happen ma broderman but i see red flag every where it all seems like she wanna runaway in as much as that might not be the case her chances are slim but she might as well as try applying alone lets see how it goes,

This is how i know it works at the french embassy documents needed for a french tourist visa includes

Bank statement
Emplyment letter
Itroduction letter
Pay stubs
hotel reservation
travel insurance
photocopy of your work id card
valid travel ticket
and any other documents to proove you got ties in Nigeria and also that you are comfortable back home in Nigeria

Step 2
Go to the VFS office in lekki yourself and submit your documents and then you would be given a ticket or card and told to report to the embassy at FALOMO for your thumb printing and maybe and interview and then you would be told to come back for your passport in 5 working days , Note that you must be available for your thumb printing, thats all i fink you need to know as regards french embassy, but as regards the ticket what you can do is this you go to air france office on adeola odeku and tell them you wanna apply for a french visa you would be told to deposit #50.000, and a ticket would be given to you if your visa is denied you come back with your passport to proof that you where denied and your money would be refunded but if you are not denied you complete the ticket money and fly with them,

c) that the decision is unlawful under section 6 of the human rights act 1998( c.42) (public authority not to act contrary to human rights convention) as being incompatible with the appelant's convention rights.

Oga Dr why where u denied, it seems u used forged document cus the only time i see rejected applications with no right of appeal is when there is a ban, please tell us in full why you where denied so we can assist you
