Politics / Yorubas And Northerners - A Tale Of Two Frenemies by danvon(m): 10:33am On Apr 14, 2023 |
This topic is long overdue but I feel I do not have enough resources to do it justice. We shall begin with Fani Kayode's famous line "the new found trust and alliance between the people of the SW and the people of the NORTH shall never again be broken" Now one might ask when did this trust exist and who broke it... Perhaps it was when Usman Dan Fodio declared a jihad on the Oyo Empire or maybe when Tafewa Balewa sentenced Awolowo to ten years imprisonment, or maybe when Sani Abacha killed MKO Abiola, however none of this is important what matters is the geopolitics of Nigeria presently and what is responsible for the 'new found trust' , the answer is very simple and complicated 'IGBOS'... Igbos are one of the major tribes in nigeria but unlike the other major tribes, igbos lack a central structure and this lack of central structure is both a great strength and a greater weakness.. Yorubas leaders no longer have to just worry about the ambition of Northerners they now also have to worry about the ambition of Easterners... It's a tight situation, it's like choosing between a mad enemy and a smart enemy, the mad enemy is mad so you can't reason with him, the smart enemy on the other can be reasoned with, however he can also plan and aim more effectively on how to bring your destruction. For now Yoruba leaders have picked the smart enemy and they hope that by convincing them they have the same enemy and goals perhaps this smart enemy would not destroy them... but there's a tiny tiny flaw in this plan, this plan only works as long as Igbo leaders do not try to form some kind of alliance with Northerners and as long as Northerners perceive Igbos as a threat, so no matter how they ally with the North they also have to carefully make sure Igbos don't change course and they also have to buff up igbos so they don't appear too weak and non threatening, they have to keep the embers of hatred alive from time to time between these two groups. But fortunately things are going well - a bit too well, the Oyo Empire is finally rising again, but in the long run only time will tell. |

Career / Re: Japa Wave Is Actually Heavily Motivated By Greed And Feelings Than By Suffering by danvon(m): 9:08am On Apr 12, 2023 |
The worst part about japa wave is how it ultimately destroys its purpose... If few Nigerians japa then it's not a problem - because it's not a problem more Nigerians begin to japa and very soon the worst Nigerians will japa too and they will japa with all the crime, lawlessness, corruption that the initial japaists claim to run away from... Eventually the government will become racist and would ban Nigerians from immigrating. 3 Likes 1 Share |

MasterJayJay: The terrorism and banditry is proof of how great Northerners are, even northern criminals are united and disciplined. Compare them with a certain terrorist group in the South that runs to Finland or UK at every small opportunity, they can't even work together to do their crime in peace... Northern Terrorist are actually willing to die for what they believe in and the fact Nigerian government have been fighting them for over a decade, should show you how well trained and resilient they are. As for the so - called illiteracy, where is the education in the South where their youths are either Yahoo boys, Drug addicts or cultists?... Where they turn on each other at the slightest provocation for the stupidest reason? Education is not education |
Politics / Northerners Are Destined To Rule Nigeria by danvon(m): 7:55pm On Apr 08, 2023 |
They are the most united, God fearing people... who at the same time are very humble, slow to anger yet very ruthless when they need to be. They have been in power for over 100years and they shall rule for 100 more because they are God's chosen people. Southerners are too barbaric, disorganized and corrupt to rule anything. Power must go to the North Inshallah. God Bless Nigeria. 1 Like |

Wole Soyinka brought cultism to Nigeria he has played a big role in the degradation of Nigerian morals, however criticizing him based on politics and not on his own works is extraordinarily foolish. 25 Likes 8 Shares |

Personally I think Reno Omokri is planning to decamp to APC but he doesn't want to decamp like a beggar, wants to decamp and gain a good position in APC. So for now he's advertising the valuable skill he can offer to APC while carefully staying within the lanes of his own party. |

Nostradamus1: Your saying the same thing, Ojukwu could have sent anybody to invade Lagos yet he selected Yoruba man, if his goal was to wreck havoc on Yorubas this move made no sense. And Victor Adebanjo like you said did not eventually attack Lagos. |
Politics / Re: Ikwerre Vs Yoruba Reactiom After The Civil War. by danvon(m): 6:10pm On Apr 05, 2023 |
GeneralPula: Correction 'Ojukwu tried to invade Lagos' but the Officer in charge of the invasion Major Ifeajuna (the guy who abducted Tafewa Balewa) refused to do so, instead he contacted Awolowo and started secretly negotiating for peace, he was caught and executed. So even in war lots of Igbos still respected Yorubas. Why don't you mention that in your tribal history? 3 Likes |
