Newly Recruited NNPC Graduate Trainees Assume Duty on Monday

More than 1,000 graduate trainees recently recruited by the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) are to assume duty Monday 4 May, 2020, a release by the corporation’s Group General Manager, Group Public Affairs Division, Dr. Kennie Obateru, has stated.

The trainees are to assume duty first, virtually while the corporation monitors the COVID -19 situation and the Federal Government’s directives to determine a date of physical assumption of duty.

The release said the option of virtual assumption of duty was necessitated by the need to comply with extant protocol on social distancing and reduced number of people in workplace, among other measures that have been introduced by government as a result of the pandemic.

The NNPC spokesman said the trainees had completed online documentation, and will commence virtual onboarding on Monday.

The release said the Group Managing Director of the corporation, Mallam Mele Kyari, was excited about the assumption of duty of the graduate trainees, saying they are part of the succession plan to assure the future of NNPC.

Mallam Kyari congratulated the successful graduate trainees being brought onboard the NNPC system, adding that much was expected of them.

The assumption of duty of the graduate trainees marks the successful completion of the 2019/2020 recruitment exercise.

The release stated that in pursuance of excellence, NNPC as an equal opportunity employer with business interests across the Oil & Gas Industry value chain, will continue to recruit the best hands in order to buoy its operations nationwide.

OK. Please do a research and tell us the number of candidates from Zamfara State or Kebbi State, that registered for WAEC, NECO and JAMB in 2019.

Also tell us the cut-off mark for Zamfara & Kebbi State indigenes, for entry into the Federal government colleges. Then state the cut-off mark of any two States you choose to pick from the South-west, South-west or South-south.

Your statistics will prove how competitive the educational system in the north is.

And if you are so sure of how strong northerners are in education, please clamour for the abolishment of federal character.

similar to jarus, i will reject nnpc for now but for future openings. I am not sure to get similar opportunity at nnpc in terms of frequent official travel and allowances. For now, i reject it.

It would be highly unfair and unprofessional for NNPC to just wake up and decide to scrap off the EH recruitment, just because one GMD comes in who does not fancy the EH coming in. Where was he when the decision to employ EH was made? Where was he when the EH were invited to travel long distances to Abuja, risking their lives, to attend the interview at Abuja.

If the info to cancell the EH is really true, it just shows that the corporation is disorganized. It indicates that things are not done in unison - no team work, as someone can just do things that pleases him. And I can assure NNPC that they will keep getting chains of court cases, cos I know some EHs will not just sit back and allow this injustice be done on them.

And by the way, what will happen to the vacuum that will be created by those contract staff who will take the EH positions?

It will be utter injustice and all EH should not just sit back and allow this to happen.

I support this. As u hv said, a court case wt Regard to this may come up. Is unfair.
