GeneralDae: Real justice from what I see would be that all the cases brought forward against Tinubu's presidency at the electoral tribunal be dismissed with a heavy fine of at least 100 million naira each to be paid by the petitioners for wasting the time of the court with frivolous petitions. You're only being emotional. Justice is evaluating every item brought before the court. If Tinubu scales, he's upheld and if not the rightful deed is done. You can't want a good Nigeria, and still want Justice watered down |

IconicR: Nairalanders please is it fair for a mother to suspend her own daughter for fighting her staff?
My friend's mother owns a large company with lots of staff, so she recently completed her nysc program and waiting to be called up for a job so she had to put up at her mum's company as an intern and she was doing her job well to see things done.
Most of the staff do not like to take instructions from her and this has resulted to altercations with most of them, they keep reporting to her mum till a meeting was finally called.
The staff seems to have connived against her and without even bothering to hear her side of the story her mum said she knows what she can do and she won't allow her to cause problems in her company, so she immediately suspended her and ask her to leave and go home.
The staff were happy with this judgement and some made some snide remarks while she was leaving.
This thing has really troubled her recently and she's thinking maybe her mom doesn't like her as she stated that if it were her brother she won't give such judgement.
Was she wrong in trying to put things in order which resulted to most of those fights with the staff?
Was the mum right to have passed such kind of judgement before her staff ?
My friend's mom told her to go resume next week on the condition that she'll behave well but my friend told her mum she's not stepping foot in her company again.
Nairalanders please without being biased who is at fault here? This is the replica of mother I seek for a wife. Lessons must be learnt... The best lessons are the hardest... Go back, behave yourself... learn, take charge...and then control that same naughty staff. Learn to be the boss by being the boss! |

Source: https://twitter.com/General_Oluchi/status/1694899224083677230 Giving an outright judgement would be missing a chance to teach a big lesson. The petitioner is right and within jurisdiction of claim, howbeit wrong based on premises of association. The respondent is obviously wrong but technically right on grounds of associative compromise. Here's my Judgement: - That the petitioner be asked how many things he doesn't own but use / enjoy freely. - That the petitioner be asked to explain the whether the funds for purchase belonged to him - That the petitioner be made to understand the importance of sharing - And finally for the petitioner, that petitioner be handed his toy with immediate effect, while being subjected to community service until he understands the very act of sharing. For the respondent... - That she be taught the concepts of contentment - That she be assigned a quotta of the petitioners chores should she choose to play with the said item - That she be made to join the petitioner in the community service until she has understood the act of entitlement is witchcraft - That she be denied access to the said item at the decision of the petitioner without questioning. For the Judge... - That you apologize to the petitioner for wrongful possession of his item - That the petitioner be compensated for choosing court over terror - That you apologize to the petitioner for making him appear as though he was out of order - That you report back to this court with a progress report weekly. Here's my Judgement. |

This is what scares him that made him seek for disqualification of the winner who is now President.
Politics na your mate?
If not for Atiku who gave Obi a national pedestal as his running mate for the 2019 presidential election, Peter Obi always rejoiced in the fact that he was an Igbo local champion politician, who was too proud to be found campaigning anywhere outside of Igbo land.
Same Obi would later become Atiku’s nemesis.
The only way Peter Obi can win in the Muslim North or even have a non-disgraceful performance, is to change his name to Jubril al-Sudani.
2027 is not too far for another disgrace for the Igbo local champion. Let me know how this would affect the tribunal. |

lawrenzoo: Good day, Nairaland families. I would appreciate it if mature and responsible families in the house could enlighten me on this. My son is only 7 years and 4 months old, and I allow him and his 5 year old sister to do minor chores such as making their beds when they wake up, sweeping their rooms to some extent, taking their plates to the kitchen after eating, and brushing their teeth at night. However, there is one thing I frown upon in the house, "Sending a young guy of his age on street errands," but I discovered that my wife finds it so easy to do so.
Most times my wife would want to get simple stuff like detergent and so, she calls him which i do stop from happening most times since i am of a personal opinion that it is rather too unsafe for him and he should not be sent on an errand alone until he is at least 10years old and above.
Please i want to know if I am simply the one overreacting and too overprotective OR a child of that age should not be sent on an errand? Some decades ago I ran kilometres to get my mother help when she was in labour. I was only 5yrs.. I started driving at 13yrs with no teacher or instructor. Early is best!! |

Penguin2: Your line of argument seems to make sense but not to a large extent.
Yes, Kumuyi and the church cannot stop the Tribunal just like the couldn’t stop INEC, but if the church starts speaking in one voice in condemnation of what is wrong no matter who it favours, then the perpetrators of these evils will have nowhere to draw any moral strength from.
Right now, the election riggers and killers can boast of having Kumuyi’s support which they’d feel legitimizes all the atrocities they have done.
But if all these religious leaders of all religions, be it Christianity, Islam or ATR, can speak in one voice against anything that goes against the acceptable social norms and values, the pressure would be higher on the Judiciary for instance, not to uphold the current election as it was conducted and the outcome thereof.
But the voices of people like Kumuyi makes it seem like the society is divided and there are people supporting Tinubu and the election as it stands.
Have you seen why we talk to them? Yes! We need them to talk but we can't imprint our decisions on people. Especially individuals who exist for the good, the bad and the terrible. Don't get me wrongly, my argument doesn't hold stage to compel Pa Kumuyi to speak neither do I discard the importance of their voices, however to CLAIM religion brought Nigeria this backward is hypocrisy tied by disdain. We're naturally wicked and largely docile in Nigeria. I mean, someone out here will say even if Tinubu sinks the nation, he's still their choice. Is that religion? Those Papas built their influence, they can use it as they please. Don't blame them for not influencing the decision of a young and vibrant youth who is capable of thinking but refused to. Until Nigeria wakes up, even Peter Obi will find it hard to fix things. We are too emotionally wretched. |

Politics › Re: Our Grouse With Kumuyi And His Fellow Hypocritical Daddy GOs by darealez(m): 4:45pm On Aug 24, 2023 |
Penguin2: Yesterday I saw a publication by Tinubu’s propaganda blog, Podium Reporters, asking why Peter Obi has kept quiet while “Obidients” attack Kumuyi for “praying for Nigeria”.
But that’s a mischievous suggestion. Because Kumuyi’s condemnation was from all Nigerians.
Till now, I’ve not seen a single tweet in support of Kumuyi.
So, it’s either all Nigerians are now Obidient or Podium Reporters are being mischievous as usual by dragging Obi into what is entirely none of his business.
Does Obi think for the Nigerian youths?
Besides, I thought they said majority of Nigerians voted Tinubu? Why didn’t that majority defend Kumuyi? Why is the voice of the ‘minority’ always louder than the supposed majority?
To Kumuyi….
Who has he been hearing from? Because it’s obvious it hasn’t been God all these years.
Or why does he keep issuing prophesies that never come to pass and people expect that we fold our arms and watch these guys lie to us all the time without consequences or their bluff being called?
These guys keep taking advantage of the gullibility of the majority of Africans who have faith without reason.
I remember when Adeboye once said he drove from Lagos to Ore on an empty tank, and people believed him. They didn’t ask questions about the possibility of such. They insisted it was a miracle that must never be probed nor questioned.
Wake up, Africa!
Wake up and see that these men are conmen who are feeding fat on your gullibility “In The Name of God.”
And they know that the day Nigeria gets her leadership right, and things start working, that’s the day they will go out of business.
Because 90% of things that people go to church to pray for, are things with temporal (physical) solution that requires no recourse to the metaphysical (prayers).
Name it:
Food
Job
Shelter
Visa
Capital for business
Success in exam
Cure for disease, etc.
These are things that a functional government will see to its adequate availability and thereby reducing the dependence of people on these churches and Daddy GOs.
It happened in Europe.
There was a time when the economy of Europe was in shambles and people depended highly on God, through prayers, for their daily survival. That period saw to the emergence of big churches and cathedrals where people went to pray.
But when European countries started getting their leadership right and their economy blossomed and government started doing its job of providing basic amenities and jobs that help people have a means of livelihood, the people realized that they’ve been seeking spiritual solution to physical problems.
The population in the churches started to dwindle until some churches became empty. And some of those churches started getting converted into warehouses for storage of goods manufactured in industries.
Now, these Nigerian, nay African, pastors know this story. And they know that if African countries start to get its leadership right, what happened in Europe will inevitably happen in Africa; and Nigeria is not excluded.
That’s why they keep supporting the wrong leaders and telling lies in the name of prophecy - prophesies that never come to pass.
Now, when we call the hypocrisies of these charlatans out, some people who are irredeemably gullible, hopelessly superstitious and still operating with animistic mentality, where every occurrence is attributed to the gods, will be telling us to “touch not my anointed and do my prophet no harm.” That’s the escape line of these charlatans.
Wake up Africa and take thine salvation into thine hands!
https://twitter.com/naughti_awol/status/1694088301571866726?s=46&t=2AB_wrBea-oBYJf5ZCFV-A[/quote]If he says he drove on empty tank, he did. If the dead can live, nothing is impossible for my God.
As for the politics that is making you misyarn, the church has never been the reason for idiocy. Blame something else.
Will Daddy Kumuyi stop the tribunal? NO!! Will bribery stop them, yes!! How's this the fault of religion?
When it comes to holiness, I listen to him. When it comes to prosperity I listen to Daddy Sam Adeyemi, when it comes to humily, I listen Pa Adeboye... Yet, I knew to get a degree and practice to become an software engineer.
Church wasn't the problem, is not the problem and will never be the problem. Slavery mentality can be blamed, our selfishness can be blamed, our greed can be blamed, our hypocrisy can be blame, our wickedness can be blamed effectively without mentioning religion.
As a traditionalist we failed! Christianity was brought, those who brought it succeeded yet we failed. When the Whites handled our nation, didn't we perform?! So, why is the blame on religion?
Did you blame the trillion embezzled daily? Did you blame the POS guy who charged 10% last year? Was that religion? Was it religion that made my tribe install a fraud all in the name of Yoruba ronu? Was that religion?
Daddy Adeboye might be silent...he has lived a good life. The youths on the street who shouldn't be silent are there screaming Emilookan just for their pocket sake. Is that religion as well?
Hypocrisy is why y'all scream religion at every slightest shake!! Yes, I supported Obi.. I am still supporting Peter Obi, Tribunal will rule for Justice BUT Religion didn't rig the elections!!
There are way bigger and luxurious churches across the world, yet that doesn't make those countries weak. This same slavery and entitlement mentality you carry is the problem.
If one man chose to build churches and it doesn't align with you, go out there and build a factory. Free yourself from lucid antagonism, learn to discuss things for what they are.
Pa Kumuyi's words will not overturn Tribunal.
Simple!!

Samfigo1: Good day everyone!!!
This is very urgent everyone and I will try to be brief. My marriage is in few weeks time and there have been troubles here and there. Pls, I will like to know what I am supposed to do. This my babe is from Kogi and we have decided to marry eachother, before we got the relationship got deep we were having marriage talks she gave me the impression that we will not be flamboyant which I was happy about, she even told me her father may not want reception and all.
Everything changed at some point, we started planning for registry, engagement and reception. This is where the problem began, our plan is to have the court on Thursday, engagement and reception on Saturday.
My family and I are going to cater for court expenses, and also 70% expenses on clothings and shoes for my would be wife is from me. Now they are saying the groom's family will cater for everything during reception, we told them to do the estimate of the feeding alone and it is close to 300k, where the problem started was when we asked how much they are going to contribute inside, they do not plan to contribute inside. They said they will cater for engagement. There is no much thing in the engagement because we are going to use the same facilities for the reception for the engagement, the hall, the chairs, tables and so on.
I told them why do they want us alone to cater for reception? There is no much in the engagement to do. Note, we will be coming from Ondo state to Kaduna state, we do not have much people that will travel that much from our side to Kaduna, we only asked how much they are going to contribute inside that is where the problem started.
I told them if you want it that way, if you want us to cater only for the reception, the hall chairs and tables I have paid 50% of should be completed by them since we are going to use the same hall for the two events. The engagement list, I have not even bought 50% of the whole thing.
Pls, am I acting strange? Is it too much to demand? My union is at stake, pls I need pieces of advice on this Did you find a wife? Y'all see problem and walk into it |
