Ukrainians protested against the "Putin Puppet" and he subsequently fled the country. The region of Crimea protested and subsequently conducted a referendum to be independent. Russia sent in forces and annexed the region while some top Ukrainian military personnel defected and joined Russia including their Navy Chief... Google is ur friend.
