kolidave: Dont know if this is the right place to post this but the mods can help me post it to the right place. So here goes the problem....... A friend's cousins are in this current position. She told me that both are cousins are dating 2 brothers from the another family. The eldest cousin knew one of the brothers first and started dating him. The younger cousin unknowing to her met the other brother fell in love with him. now both of them are ready to take the relationship to the next step which is marriage. They later discovered that they've been dating each other's siblings for quite a while now and considers it a taboo. The elder brother came to a decision that hes going to leave his own girlfriend so that his younger brother can get married which to me i think its unfair. My friend wants to know if its ideal for her two cousins to go ahead and proceed to the marriage or just stop the relationship. Over to you nairalanders,i need to give my friend an advice. My father's cousin married my mother's sister. All is fine and good. A friend of mine had her father's sister, marry her mother's brother. They are genetically siblings and all look alike. She is in her late 30s but she says she does not want to have her babes out of wedlock, Dat none of her sisters did dat and its against her doctrine but the man insists he doesn't have money for wedding now so they should first start making kids before marriage so it doesn't get difficult when she gets older.
She is confused as to what to do? Please any suggestions?

nickxtra: Experience mothers in the house, please I need your candid advice on this serious issue of my wife, though nursing a baby of 10 months plus now, has not seen her period since she put to bed over 10 months. About 3 month after her delivery, we had intimacy and some weeks later, she said she felt as if she was pregant. This early pregnancy got us worried which I even shared on this thread some time past, but based on advices from good people, including from Nairalanders and a Nurse she visited, we were advised to keep the pregnancy. On an occassion, I had to ask her how was she feeling with the baby, thinking that she should be preparing to register for pre-natal, but her response was that she does feel as if there is a baby in her. I immediately asked her to go for a pregnancy test , which she did and came with a negative result. I was shocked bcause I was expecting a positive result. Now she said that on enquiry to know could be the problem and she has not seen her period months after putting to bed, she was told or counseled by the Doctor that delayed menstrual period is normal in some women, particularly nursing mothers who are breasfeeding. This situation worries me and I need to know from experienced mothers in the house what could be the likely cause of the delayed menses and if it possible for her to take in without her period. What could be the solution to this? I need answers seriously, to enable me get adequate solution for it. Thanks It is perfectly normal not to see your period when breatfeeding. The babys sucking is contracting the uterus and gives no room for blood flow. This does not mean she is not ovulating and she can get pregnant. If you are not ready for another child please use birth control all the time. Go your the nearest family planning clinc to get more information. When she stops breast feeding the blood will start flowing. |

I'm surprised at the amount of hate being poured out on this poor girl. Every one is insulting her from gold digger to disgrace to her family to chop and clean mouth. Has anyone even considered what would make a bride run away from her wedding especially in Nigeria where it is almost a sin to be unmarried?
Who knows what the reason could be.
Did she find out something terrible about the groom? Did she find out they were related?
Does he beat her but she closed her eyes to it just because she wanted to marry? Finally she decided to make a run for it instead of spending the rest of her life complaining on NL?
Did the groom abandon her and she ran from home and is suicidal?
Is it cold feet? Fear of the unknown?
Can we spare a little compassion for a stranger instead of taking pictures and insulting her?
Those who say she should go home and change clearly have never seen wedding preparations. Go home and face ppl at home when you are to be in church is not possible.
Dear sister, if you read this, some of us are praying for you. Peace in your life and God's direction will show you the right path and ignore these insults.
God Bless you! |

How fickle. This is a lesson to all. They'll love you when you're in power and abandon you when they're done with you. You should be happy they are declaring peace. Celebrate and don't taunt them, that just makes you a sore loser. |

olola4: It happened last Thursday when my brother-in-law came back from school because of the election. I was outside the house doing some stuff when I heard my wife and her brother arguing over a political matter.
After i finished with what I was doing I went inside the house to join in the discussion, and to my greatest surprise I saw my wife half naked.
Immediately I left the room and she followed me not knowing why I left the room like that. I explained to her that I didn't like it. To my greatest disappointment when my wife will reply me, she just said "it's nothing".
Please to my fellow nairalanders. I want to ask is it right? Because since that time I have been confused. Why are you making a big deal over nothing? Her brother? Na wah o! |

cr7lomo: Comprehension is the major problem most people have when the read write ups.... When and how did I say the bible justifies brutality from men.... I simply tried to explain how the bible simply explained how to prevent issues in marriages . They have men that are naturally brutal , that hit women out of no just cos but because the society frown at these situations , women take advantage of it and say no man should hit a woman even after down grading the husband with verbal abuse mayb in public or in front of friends... If a woman cant control her mouth, she should not expect the man to control his hands . Men are not kids that u can shout on after he provides for u and the children . Control ur mouths and he controls his hands
U cant say because of u are a woman , u Hv the ryt to insult ur man like a kid whenever ... If u can preach walk away , then u should also preach sitting down to talk to the man instead of raining insults or abuses .... Some even go to d extent of telling the man " u are not man Enof and that's y I 4ked ur friend Hu is man Enof " at the same time she's holding his shirt preventing him from walking away . When he now hits u, u come out with pix for people to pity u knowing the society frowns at it . Women can be evil ooo Guy people are evil simple and short. You are giving me extreme cases. Men beat women to prove superiority. Men with large egos and low self esteem. Most men beat wives because they can't fight back. If another man that can beat them comes around they will mellow. |

cr7lomo: Where in the bible or Quran did u c women and men are equal? God Made the man the head because two captains can't navigate as ship and that's y men marry women that they are older than so to command respect
In the bible , it's written " wives , be submissive to your husbands and husband love your wife just like God loves the church " if u understand the bible u will comprehend that the woman should act first by being submissive b4 d husband reacts by being loving . But the devil is using the women just like eve to confuse the world with this equal rite sh.itt . The sooneru understand that it cant work , d better You see now you are bringing in bible and koran to justify a mans brutality. I never said a wife should not submit or a man should not love I said man and woman are EQUAL. We MUST have equal rights. Man cannot be more equal than woman. If you respect your wife or believe you are equal there is no way you will hit her. Its when you believe you are superior that you raise you hand to hit her. Submissiveness has nothing to do with wife battery. So many submissive women are beaten and battered EVERYDAY. |
