Christianity Etc › Re: Why Having A Phd Is A Waste – Bishop Oyedepo by daveP(m): 6:49pm On Mar 24, 2016
preggi:
Pls know that the theory comes before the practical.
we've been hearing this same punchlines for thousands of days. but our foreign counterparts, as much as they are taught are working hard to ensure a theory is also in their name one day. some are so hellbent on proving this that the lecturers now see it as a political stepstone( their names will be mentioned as the tutor that gave him ideas, keys to lab, info, etc)

but tell me if this sweet tale is an experience of a typical Nigerian graduate today.

rather you'l see these so called lecturers locking up 'knowledge' to restricted timetable through the week. that's crappish.

oh I've forgotten the lecturers themselves don't have the knowhow to perform extreme practical!! sorry. what a pity.

a typical Nigerian science student knows almost all laws in science, but practical. let's take this step and at least our rivals in Jo'burg would know somethings up with an average nig student when we mention the word 'experiment' and 'practicals'
Christianity Etc › Re: Why Having A Phd Is A Waste – Bishop Oyedepo by daveP(m):
let's go back to ensuring education leans 80% on practical and 20% on just paper work. it's why confidence to think out of what we consider reality today is seriously lacking.

practical practical practical

if this is done well, I tell you, the iota of thinking would be in every PhD holder.

for now, it's a title of pride to an average Nigerian
