I think the ball is now in your court, to transform her into someone you'd like her to be.

Get her books as gifts, coerce her into channelling those time spent watching telemundo and zee world to some other educative channel, engage her in intellectual discussion. Do not give up even if her replies ain't encouraging. Let her know why you're doing such and also how you expect her to flow along.
Do all these in love and don't go about insulting her cos that will make her detest you. Those your so called friends should be mindful if what they say too.

Whichever way, it's a gradual process and if she actually loves you the way you claim, she'll make an attempt to step up her games.
Hahaha, you are one of those naive people who think that you can change people. Haven't you seen so many marriages hit the rocks because during courtship both parties refused to acknowledge the red flags they saw in each other?
Abeg, let them go there separate ways. It's obvious that they are not compatible with each other: they are not the right fit.
I am sorry bro, but like they say, when someone shows you who they really are, believe them.
RomanceRe: Help!!! My Girlfriend Is Very Dull And Uninteresting... by davidif: 11:28am On Nov 15, 2016
phlamesG:
I'm a young man in his early twenties. I've been going out with this particular girl for close to a year now.
I can tell that she loves me, and don't get me wrong I love her too, I mean she's very beautiful and well endowed in the right places, she's also a good cook and good in bed. But my worry is that she's too obtuse and uninteresting. Whenever we're having a conversation or discussion she doesn't make meaningful contributions to the topic, sometimes her contributions are not well thought out and when she says them it makes her sound dumb. My friends have even given her a nickname 'mumu'. Whenever they want to ask of her, they be like "Charlie® that your mumu girlfriend dey"?
I am kinda afraid to introduce her to my parents so she won't embarrass me. My parents are very particular about the kind of girl I bring home, and trust my dad he's going to bombard her with a barrage of questions. She's also not interested in global happenings around the world or within the country or even recent developments. What really sparked my ire was the just concluded USA elections. I remember calling her and teasing her as to who will win the elections, trump/Clinton, but I was dismayed by her response " who is trump?" cry I was totally dumbfounded, how can someone who isn't an illiterate not have an inkling about 'trump'. I'm not saying i know all about the elections, I wasn't even interested in the USA elections because I already knew it was all mere propaganda, but nevertheless I kept up to speed.
Her further response killed my vibe "what concern me with trump? Is he going to give me a role as a telemundo actress?"(she's obsessed with telemundo btw, which brings me to my next point)
She so much loves telemundo and zee world, the only concise narration she can give is the breakdown of an episode of zee world. It's breaks my heart because I love her and want to marry her in the nearest future, and I don't want our kids to turn out to be morons.
Conversations with her are so boring, she basically adds nothing to the topic of discussion. Our time together is mostly spent on long silences

I need only positive responses please...
Red flag alert shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked shocked please abeg, this shows that both of you are not meant for each other. You guys are not compatible. In other words, y'all not the right fit for each other so please go your separate ways abeg.
In a relationship, the most important thing is compatibilty. There is nothing as good as having someone you can talk about everything with. So ask yourself if I want to spend the rest of my life with her.
FamilyRe: My Husband Always Shouts At Me In Public by davidif: 11:18am On Nov 15, 2016
DarkRebel101:
I witnessed something similar about two weeks ago in a BRT bus. A man, his wife, and their two children boarded the same bus as did I; and it so happened that while the man found a place to sit, the wife and the children did not and so had to stand.

Fifteen minutes later, someone alighted from the bus thus creating a vacant seat which the woman immediately sat on; and just as she was beckoning her two kids to come sit on her laps, her husband exploded in a fusillade of rage and commanded his wife to stand so that his children could sit.

That instant, my face creased into a deep flesh canyon of disbelief, and even more so when the woman sheepishly cowered in humility characteristic of a Catholic nun.

Who knows how long the woman has been subjected to such harassment? I pitied her greatly because she seemed completely resigned to her fate.

[...]

OP, your husband is just like the man in that story, and that is immature, insensate and proud.

Lao Tzu once said that, “All streams flow to the sea because it is lower than they are. Humility gives it its power.”

One of the things your husband needs to learn is how to be humble.

...

Now to the main issue: my advise is that you investigate the activities your husband has been involved in as of recent.

I also need you to answer these questions:

On a scale of 1-10, how physically attractive is your husband? Could it be that his physical ‘uninterestingness’ is the cause of his frustration? Perhaps he hasn't been receiving sufficient attention from the opposite sex?

Is he ankle-deep in a financial pinch? Is he in debt? Such can make a man-woman frustrated and, consequentially, depressed.

Do his family members constantly put the squeeze on him so that he might cater for their needs? He might just be overwhelmed and feel boxed in by the pressures put on him.

Has any of his family members, colleagues, or close friends died as of late? Death tends to inflict a heavy toll on a person's mood and so that might be the cause.

Has he any history of violence? And please do away with those ingenuous sentiments about how he was a saint during courtship.
Courtships are hardly where the true character of a man-woman is revealed.

...

As they say, ‘‘frustration begets anger; anger begets aggression”.

I think your husband is frustrated, and might just be suffering from a phenomenon which psychologists call displaced aggression’, or as those in the military would put it: ‘stress-rolling’.

Displaced aggression is when someone for lack of being capable of challenging the source of his frustration due to the fact that he-she feels that he-she cannot conquer it, directs his-her anger instead to someone perceived to be weaker and less capable of reprisal.

For example: my boss may have hauled me over the coals for a task poorly executed, and knowing fully well that I can't yell back at my boss or impugn him, I would rather suppress my anger and take it out on my wife or child. That's what displaced aggression means and I think your husband is going through just that.

...

And OP, have you tried talking to him?

Have you expressed to him, the discomfiture that his actions are causing you?

If not then that should be your first line of action. If that doesn't work then you should ask his family members or trusted friends to have a tête-a-tête with him; and if that still proves abortive, then you should perhaps consider a belt-and-braces approach — though I wouldn't advise such as fire can never be quenched with fire.

Temporal separation until he turns over a new leaf could also be a last resort.
Did you not read her story well? It says that he has been yelling at her since there courtship stage. He had already been showing her who he was but for some reason or the other ignored the red flag: maybe she was one of those naive girls that taught that after marriage he was going to change for the better not knowing that that was just the tip of the iceberg and that
he was already giving him glimpses of his true character.
They say that when someone shows you who they are, believe them the first time around.

BusinessRe: Nigeria’s Inflation Hits 18.3% In October by davidif: 3:29am On Nov 15, 2016
dipoolowoo:
By Modupe Gbadeyanka

A new report by the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) has disclosed that Nigeria’s annual inflation as at October 2016 was now 18.3 percent.

In the report posted on the agency’s website on Monday, it was disclosed that the figure rose from 17.1 percent it was in September 2016.

The reason for this, Business Post gathered, was because of the higher prices for electricity, clothing and food in the country.

The 18.3 percent inflation rate is Nigeria’s highest in more than 11 years and the ninth straight monthly rise.

The agency explained that, “During the month, the highest increases were seen in housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels.”

A business analyst in Lagos, Mr Olalekan Adesanya, told Business Post that the latest report shows another sign of the crisis in Africa’s biggest economy.

Nigeria has been struggling with her economy since the inception of the present administration in 2015.

Prices of commodities in the country have skyrocketed, and in some cases, by over 200 percent.

Last week, Minister of Budget and National Planning, Mr Udoma Udo Udoma, revealed that President Muhammadu Buhari would unveil the government’s economic recovery plan next month.

This is not a well written article. There is not enough context and they don't even tell us when inflation got reached double digits.

This story should be a lesson to people who are trying to get married. Look for the signs. They say if you want to know a person's character watch how they treat other people.
This guy had been showing this woman who he really was before they got married and she probably thought he would change or that he won't get worse. Well see how that is turning out.

Yoruba man as Chief of Staff
And what exactly is wrong with a Yoruba chief of staff? The last thing Obaseki should be worried about is the ethnicity of his staff. Edo like the rest of Nigeria needs all the help it can get and from wherever it can get it whether it's through foreigners or Nigerians. As long as they are super bright and talented. The last thing it should be worrying about is there so called state of origin.
A leader is only as good as his lieutenants.
Instead of our leaders to surround themselves with the best team they can get, they simply hire someone because he is from there "place". How about hiring the best people for the job no matter where they are from? It's no wonder we can't find creative solutions to our problems.
Speaking of state of origin, that archaic concept should be scrapped and replaced with state of residence if possible as it distorts people's views and judgement at times.

The Chief of staff is like the Governor's "gateman" he controls who sees the governor.
That appointment was made straight from Bourdillon road.

It's a pity, some married women are like that... They will leave their husband, travel abroad for further studies and I usually ask, this PHD or masters u are going for? Please enlighten me, what do u intend to do with it? They will say they just want to have higher degrees.
I shake head for those wives.. Later they will start crying wolf, saying can u imagine her husband has married another woman.. May the almighty God give them sense to see the havoc they are creating in their homes.

Op, your friend is lonely. And even if the wife travels with the next flight back home to fight her husband. Cos He is the only person she can fight for now.. After telling her sorry dear, with sweet words and she travels back.. He will still go back to his girlfriend.. And the girlfriend is determined to be his wife.. So my dear, the situation is messy already.

Dangote has been milking Nigeria for ages. He bought the three arms of government.

He's the most corrupt business man in West Africa, if not the whole Africa! He doesn't do anything without massive gain.

This man almost pays no tax even though govt. give him some kind of subsidy. Small businesses in Nigeria pay more taxes than Dangote!

His "promise to help in turning around and diversifying the country’s economy" is a sham. He's only opening a massive avenue to milk more billions. If you think he made his billions clean of massive corruption, then you're an id*iot!

I don't blame him at all. He's doing what any sharp and corrupt businessman would do in a very corrupt and failed country like Nigeria!
All you stated were allegations but I don't see any confirmed facts.
