snapscore: If the positions were highly sensitive enough then they would have brought Nigerians from Nigeria who can take those positions. The fact they they are employing Indians and Kenyans for a job Nigerians can do shows that they don't care at all. Lastly, not all positions in the embassy are sensitive (cleaners, receptionists).
But hiring people is free? Do you really think the embassy that cannot spend less than 300 riyals for an ad but can hire people for over 1000 (least) monthly? Is our embassy that poor?
Honestly, if the embassy intended to hire Nigerians, it would do so with no excuses. You are probably right. I have never been tger to find out the facts in the ground that's why I am willing to give them the benefit of doubt. |

optimusprime2: I am shocked to the bone marrow to read this from you... Are the "Indian's" and "Kenyans" Qatari Nationales ?? My Gawwwwwd. .. This right here is the reason why the Nigerian passport will remain almost irrelevant. .. Oh... when will competent leaders rise up, to salvage the worth of Nigerias image? First of all, do you know me from somewhere? Secondly, if you do you need to calm down and stop being to emotional about this. Thirdly, take off your nationalistic hat and look at it from a logical standpoint. There is not too many Nigerians in Qatar ib the first place which makes sense since qatar isca difficult country to get into so it probably makes sense to hire the next best thing they can find. Lastly, y'all need to stop being so hyped up about this. Aint none of yall ever being to Qatar or the embassy there to find out the facts on the ground but here you guys are jumping to conclusions. Goodness gracious! Like someone once said nationalism will be the death of us all. I am beginning to believe it. |

snapscore: There are many Nigerians in Qatar ( and many searching for a job). A simply advertisement in Gulf time or Qatarliving will be sufficient for the embassy to recruit Nigerians in Qatar. This is if they don't want to bring Nigerians from Nigeria.
Knowing a citizen isn't always necessary. Residents of other nationalities (as long as they are in Qatar) can help one obtain with a visiting visa. You can also come on business visa. I know someone who did and was searching for a job.
Not from what I have seen. So wait you are saying that a highly sensitive position like an embassy worker should be advertised in a paper? Does that even sound like a smart idea knowing the risks of that. And if so, do you even think it's free to even advertise in a paper in the first place? Do you not know that you have to buy ad space from the paper first? |

https://twitter.com/adewoleade/status/852554898172456962 Do you have an idea how difficult it is to get a visa to Qatar? Or you think you can just fly there and start working? Qatar and Saudi Arabia are some of the most difficult countries to get a visa to get into. Also this is standard practice. If you go to American embassy you would see a lot of Nigerians working there so what's the big deal? |

snapscore: Aren't there Nigerian residents in Qatar? I don't think any embassies should hire over 90% foreigners in any country (if the twitter user is right) especially when there are Nigerian residents in those countries. Additionally,if the embassy intends to hire Nigerians from Nigeria, they can bring them over with an employment visa. Nigerians in Qatar? Like 1 or 2? To get into Qatar, you first of all need to know a citizen and they have to couch for you coming in and that'd just the beginning. Trust me there are not as many Nigerians over there as you think and even if they are they are probably not legal residents. |

Tazdroid: Federal Government Agencies some of which I've never seen in the news, read in the papers or on some yeye blogs or heard of. So na there d money dey go?
Some of them seemingly have overlapping functions e.g Center for Women Development. What is d difference in its primary functions and the ogbonge Ministry of women affairs? Finally!!!!! Someone who has an idea of how systems and organizations should work. It's so frustrating to come here and see Nigerians complaining about the wrong things like why someone from there tribe was not appointed instead of seeing the real issue here which is waste. Our govt is waaaaaaaay too big and needs to be downsized DRASTICALLY to make it more efficient. There is way to many ministries and too many agencies - majority of which I have never heard nor know there functions. I wish there were people who had a strong organizational knowledge in govt because it seems as if this guys don't have organizational backgrounds. That's why I wished Buhari had hired outside consultants from the get go to take a look at the system and look for ways trim the bureaucracy. |

ajsans: Read that the book is not scripturally sound. You could google it up. I don't know about that o. All I know is that you can't believe everything you read on the web. Anyone can write anything but it doesn't make it true. Also, another thing is if you don't agree with what was written ask the holy spirit to show it to you. After All the bible says that he is our helper and that he is supposed to lead us to all truth. As for me, I will strongly recommend the book cos to me it's easily the greatest Christian book ever written (I am very serious about this) not including the bible. Period. 1 Like |

kimbra: God saved us sha. Usually either I or my sis would have stayed till 2, but lastnyt she had headache while I went to bed at past one but she stayed back at the sitting room and slept off with lights on. My bro went round and turned off the lights then went to bed. We just heard a gun shot which I took to be the usual in my visinity not knowing they knocked off the sharp edges of our fence, jumped in, and used saw to saw loose the keys to the back gates. The dogs saw them and rushed towards their direction and they released the gun shot to scare them. So the dogs ran back, stood at a distance and were backing seriously. Then we started hearing voices like "Them dey mad, break that window", we have 3 bungalow, a co-tenant own one and our landlord the other which are all detached. So two came to our flat while another two went to my landlord's, and the man is currently in lag leaving his wife and two kids at home. The ones that came to our flat came straight to the room window, used hammer and were trying to break the GMP then my bro crawled into the room and touched my legs, giving me a signal with his hands. I followed quietly and we hide behind our parlour sofa while my sis hide beside the wardrobe. After they broke the widows we heard a voice from the others that they should use saw cos the protector was stopping them from getting inside. My bro dialled our landlord's number and communicated with him who called on Shell police and they came in seven minutes, cos the street isn't far from Shell. They did the same thing to my landlord's apartment and left because of the gunshot which has kept people on alert. But we felt they gained intry into our landlord's apartment so stayed hidden for one hour, w called the security guy an he ha no idea of what was going one when we broke the news to him. It was terrifying. |

doctimonyeka: How do we go about the much needed revolution ? First of all, get knowledge. Revolution is about ideas and changing peoples mindsets and to do this you need to educate yourself. There are a lot of books you can read on your own on why some countries are rich and some are poor. Important books like ' Why Nations Fail', ' The White Man's Burden', ' Poor Economics' and the ' Bottom Billion'. This books show you the mistakes poor countries make and it gives you ideas on what to do because if there is something i have learnt is that protesting is easy but governance and coming up with solutions to societal problems are truly difficult (just ask Donald Trump). Last and most importantly, hold your publicly elected officials accountable. Do you even know who your representatives are at the local or state level are? Find out there contacts and there offices and try to engage them. Organize your colleagues from that region and talk to them. Let them see that you are not only well informed but that you are organized, well mobilized and will not be bought (paid off to go away). |
