BusinessRe: If You Are Uber Partner In Lagos, Please Share Your Experience Here by davit: 11:20am On Nov 16, 2020
Good morning my people. OJODU BERGER Police arrested me yesterday evening. I was making a turning at that open place in front of Ojodu grammar school when they jumped in front of my car, just the way SARS guys do. It was like a movie as they corked their guns and ready to shoot. I was on a trip. I didn't want to wind down, but before I say jack, the Olosho who was with the guy I picked at ICM already opened the back door. Na so I enter their gbege finish.
They said I took illegal turning. But when it was time to write statement, they said Na 1 way I take.
When I was trying to call my connections, they forced my 2 phones out of my hand. Other drivers too were arrested. But I didnt see Danfo guys who usually use that turning too.

I was able to make some calls with the help of people around. They later released me and the car around 12.30am.
Guys, let's watch out for that turning in front of Ojodu grammar school if coming from Omole Phase 1 side. And I must add that this period is not the time to be arrested by police especially the ones torched during the protest. I saw a lot there.

May God continue to be with us on the road.

Bro, e shock me too o. Drivers take nonsense on Indriver. When we are still complaining that fare on bolt is too small, Oin.
I do Indriver, but with sense. If I you don't input correct money, I'm not bidding. And when I do, I go for what makes sense.
AngryIgboDon:
Most ehailing drivers in Lagos are very shameless, stuppid and have no class.

When I enter indriver and see the ridiculous fares drivers are taking in the name of "Am taking it all", I will ask myself... "Are these drivers naturally daft from birth or did a nurse drop them on their head when they gave birth to them"?

Because Common... How can you cheat yourself in the name of taking it all? A fare that is 2500 on Bolt. You accept it for 2000 on indriver in the name of taking it all. Good and fine. You now enter Traffic and start complaining... Are you not stuppid?

Funny enough, if that trip was on Bolt... You may make 4000 at the end of it because of traffic. So why cheat yourself? Drivers, stop enabling what will kill you eventually.

I stopped doing indriver long ago. What you people don't know is that Nigerians know how to abuse things. Go to indriver and see the ridiculous fares most of them are offering. And an inbeccile driver will accept it.

They are now running away from Uber and Bolt to go and fix a price on indriver that will be fixed and nothing will ever change it because they are wicked.

Driverpreneurs... Leave that indriver immediately and stick to your Uber and Bolt. It pays you more. After they may have waited for long on indriver and nobody is picking them... Its not somebody that will tell them to get a ride on Bolt. Believe me, it will pay you more.

Exactly my thought. Wrong move from bolt. Na to dey ask where you dey go now.
AngryIgboDon:
Bolt removing the "See Destination" feature is an ill advised move. This is one of the reasons I began hating Uber with passion. Removing this wonderful is just like driving with a blindfold on your eyes.

Since that feature was launched, it reduced the cancellation rate a lot for me. I see where people are heading to and decide whether to accept or not. It also reduces the stress of having to ask people where they are heading to thereby wasting my airtime.

Anyways, I guess we are back to the old ways of doing things. I will simply call and ask you where you are heading to. If its an unfavourable or unfamiliar terrain, I will simply cancel without any remorse. Because nothing on earth can make me go to a terrible location with something that puts food on my table together with my fish farm.

The implication is that the rider will become more frustrated and his or time wasted.

Its also my opinion that drivers should flood bolt app page on google play and inundate them with bad comments regarding the destination feature. Also their Twitter, Facebook and Instagram pages should be trolled too. Also send them in-app messages regarding this wonderful feature that they removed. I know they may try to be stubborn.... But...

Who cares self?.... They may loose more drivers to indriver... Dem go bet?

Just 11am and you already posted her details on a public forum? This is very wrong, hopefully you get penalized. You can imagine a prospective employer searches her name on the internet and this comes up, I am sure the delay might be from Bank, why not wait till evening before calling again instead of posting her details here.

Well said. So, for a driver that gets blocked before the payment, what becomes his fate? In case you don't know, once blocked, these apps won't pay you your balance. I'm talking from experience.
PuZZyNegro:
This card trip issue is really funny to me. I see it as lack of discipline and planning on the part of the driver.

You get paid weekly so I see no reason why you should not keep money for fuel and other miscellaneous expenses.

I work on Fiverr and it takes 2 weeks after an order has been marked completed for us to get paid.

A job with 30 days delivery will mean that you get paid after 44 days, all things being equal (assuming no revision request and the buyer accepted the job on the day it was delivered).

Now, we have to wait for the funds to accumulate before initiating withdrawal so the money can be tangible.

So, we might have opportunity of withdrawing between 2-3 times in a month depending on how much sales we make daily.

I prefer card trip whenever I am driving on ehailing than cash as there are no issues of change or rider absconding with your money.

Drivers should please learn financial disciple and stop rejecting card trips.

Asking for destination is understandable because of so many factors. One of mine is even not taking a request too far from my house when it's getting late or when I have decided to stop working for the day but just need one more trip closer to my house.
