Education › Re: Is Animal Science A Good Course?? by DavSagacity(m): 12:45am On Jun 15, 2020 |
toyetade: The question the OP is asking is Animal science a good course. The answer is no. if the op have option, please change to better courses like Computer Science, Accountancy, Nursing and some engineering course. You can only go for this course if you want to be a practicing farmer. A good course doesn't have to be until you own a farm just like having a degree in Nursing or medicine doesn't mean the only option open to you is to own an hospital. You should start with a paid employement and be an apprehentice first and train before you established yours later in life. Going into farming will make you old quickly than your mate who works in offices Mr Oga...be guided. read through my first comment and know what brought about the particular one you quote. Don't reason like a child. |

toyetade: My wife read that course at OAU and she didn't get job for 10 years. We eventually travelled out and she started a new career in accountancy. She's doing well now. It is difficult but God may help you It's obvious that your wife didn't had passion for Animal science. she opted for it perhaps the school gave her the course after many attempt to gain admission. For 10 years she kept waiting for job to come.!!! No sir. an average Agric student is a potential CEO of her own farm. instead of waiting for jobs that were not forthcoming, she ought to have start a small farm with some amount of birds, groom it till it becomes big. most of the big farms we hear about today began small from the backyards with little birds. Now you can see why I said "obviously" she didn't have passion for the course. lest I forget, THANK GOD SHE'S DOING FINE NOW. |

PrinceMajestic: thank you sir. I'm a graduate of Agricultural Extension & Mgt and I'm currently managing a commercial farm, there's no effect of pandemic in our field like you said our birds are laying everyday, we just sold off thousands of Clara spp catfishes last month and we're about to restock the ponds, our ruminants are breeding and doing fine, we're working here because we must attend to the livestocks but other graduates today who thought they read better courses than us are all idol now amidst pandemic adding to already high number of unemployment. I'm a proud agriculturist. I pray my Fathers help me succeed my Masters and PhD in Animal science. It's my greatest dream from time to be animal scientist. Shout out all agriculturists and animal scientists in the house. Respect my brother. Respect.!!! U have said it all. Though i wanted to become a lecturer but lack of funds and adequate support made me to pend the study at the Masters level. |

Am a proud animal scientist. Studied Animal Nutrition @ FUNAAB and had my M.sc in Agricultural Biochemistry at U.I . This last few month really opened my eyes to alot of things particularly how important farming is. I work in An integrated Farm as the manager and during this lockdown, I placed an advert on social media for job opportunities. People with B.Tech, B. Engineer, and political science graduate applied for farm attendant Job. The pandemic lead to alot of company and industries to lay off some of their staffs and there is massive unemployment in town at the moment. but farmers are still working, birds are still laying eggs, ours Pigs and goats are producing good litters and our staffs and labourers are still earning and meeting their needs.
To cap it all, the management increased salary for all her workers during the lockdown rather than lay off some like is happening in other sectors of the economy.
My guy just study hard and ensure u know the tifun tedo of animal science, the technical know-how and u are good to go.
Respect to all Practicing Farmers in the House. |

Though i didnt read all the write up...but I love the Life and Ministry of Apostle Paul. Phillipians 3:10 (New Living Translation) Apostle says " I want to know Christ and experience the mighty power that raised him from the dead. I want to suffer with him, sharing in his death, This is very profound from apostle. King James will say "That I may Know him". Until the hunger is birth in us, just like the men of old, until we are not satisfied with the level of God that we know, until we are no longer ok with the dimension of the revelation of God that has been revealed to Us, we may not attain the apex that God wants us to attain. He went further and says " and the power that raised Jesus from the death. Many Pastors, many Christians , many believers we covert the power that raised Jesus from the grave, we want to exhibit such kind of The apostolic miracles we heard of in the bible, Howbeit , the question is , "Sharing in his death" "bein made conformable unto his death" - have we shared in the fellowship of his sufferings.?? Have I been made conformable unto his death..? without sharing in the fellowship of his suffering and being made conformable unto his death, we can not experience the Power of his ressurection. |

clintz: In the Bible book of genesis 38 God kill Onan for refusing to impregnate his late brothers wife. Nigerian Christians and hypocrisy we select only what we think is right in the Bible. Dont mis-quote Tue bible out of context. The case of Onan like you sited was different. Onan slept with his brother's wife and when it was time to release semen into her, he deliberately released it outside . So don't quote the bible the way u feel like. It's a sin ( since he is Married ) to sleep with his uncle's wife and father a child with her. That is Adultery. it's better for the woman to remarry than trying to spoil the extended family |
