I'm gobsmacked! These are monies that I thought only existed as a figment of my imagination, and in a little corner, in my mind's recess. These images are very disturbing indeed! ..oh! I think I have a headache. |
..what if, perhaps the other photographer who took this slowpoke's picture has enough anti-venom serum on site? ![]() |
This huge mess is now on the home run, returning full circle. When you have "armed, hungry men", who are supposed to provide a safe passage for these "food trucks" at the checkpoints what do expect? Secondly, the death of the rail transport system is another major factor. When you combine these two disasters(along with the plummeting naira), you get a clear picture of mess we're now in. |
Jokerman:..that 'mere' commissioner. (does Saraki still think?) ![]() |
sarrki:Amen Sarrki! But it still amazes me how some people still haven't gotten over the loss of the opposition at the last elections. This they exhibit by mis-directed criticisms of the present government's every attempt to revamp the moribund economy, which their benefactors plunged this country into. Any government that does well benefits the whole nation. So we should continue to support & pray for our leaders. Thanks Sarrki! |
See where a part of the money that could've bettered the lot of Nigerians went. ..well, it's those monies that weren't honestly earned, that are usually spent in such a manner. |
I truly admire the ingenuity this gentleman applies to his business to suit the changing times. Please ignore the naysayers. In time, the right customer will surely come knocking. ..all the very best Lade. |
Gov Fayose just doesn't get it. He's been missing the point ever since. To compare himself with Zuckerberg? ..what are their antecedents? A young but successful entrepreneur versus a die hard "ruff neck" whom we all know rose to power via a shady set up. Come on people! By the way, When Mr Zuckerberg was to attend a meeting at the Presidency, he was formally dressed in suits. In sharp contrast from a sitting Governor who went to pass the State's budget (a most formal event) at the house of assembly In a black T shirt and camouflage trousers, (looking like an insurgent). Mehn! Governance has been thrown out to the dogs in this country. |
God help us as a nation. The fight against corruption may not have served the common man if it ends at a stalemate. The battle is a fierce one and corruption is fighting back real dirty. Sadly the grass here is the average Nigerian who doesn't seem to see the gains in supporting the government in their quest for National rebirth. |
progress69:Oga progress69, you wicked small sha. You should've known that most of these people you're trying to educate have chosen to remain myopic in their views and closed their minds to reason. These are the same ones our politicians rely on to spread discord in the polity (for a pitiable sum) while they make away with billions. This conversation thus far, revels the depth of moral & intellectual depravity this nation has gotten to. May God have mercy on us. |
![]() Haba! That's not even up to the interest for a year from all they've chopped (despite low interest rates). |
GBAM! ..you have hit the nail on the head and driven the point home @maclatunji! What scares me most is another propensity to loose human lives during the protest and the blame game which would follow. |
..If we try to break it down, N13 billion translates to about N1.1 billion monthly, and about N35 million daily. Wow! wetin dem dey chop, drink abi breathe? These figures are best kept from the common man because those on the fringe of insanity will just craze "patapata"! |
Harvest time? ..by their fruits, you shall know them. This is an indictment on "Koro" and his co-horts, including the serving "governor of the masses". |
True talk. ..but here's "truer" talk. ..if you take a closer look at the demography, there's still a gloomy picture. At best, the picture painted by the OP captures only about 30% of the Nigerian population. Where all that the majority have for comfort is God and poverty, insurgency and militancy hold sway in many parts of the country, diseases among the downtrodden who can't afford health care while avarice holds sway at the top. Don't mean to spoil your party but there's still a whole lot to be done. |
..definitely must be an unstable woman. From the number plates in the pictures, I doubt it very much if this is Nigeria. She needs help anyway. |
Ironically, he's spending the currency of a country that has declared him wanted. If ever get sets foot again on American soil, all the dollars may not be enough to enable him see beyond its prison walls. ![]() |
..must've been owned by a "Money miss road"! |
I remain cautiously optimistic. I look forward to a time in this country when the government's performance will speak rather than (often empty) promises. |
Truly inspiring. Shows there's much ability even in disability. Meanwhile there are many able bodied men who can think of nothing productive to do or who's ego won't let them do menial jobs. I bet these gentlemen make a tidy sum daily from the sympathy and appreciation of kind hearted Nigerians. Kudos to them. |
It seems to me that the Senate President is just fanning the embers of deceit. Charity, they say begins at home and if so, these Legislators along with the executive and all government functionaries must set the tone by patronising everything Nigerian from its hospitals to schools to sports, industries and all services. Only then can the spark of inspiration be kindled in our minds and the nation truly prosper. All this lip service will get us nowhere. I can only imagine where his handkerchief is made. ![]() |
Well, only time can tell. I have always been of the opinion that things may get much worse before the good times begin, but going through the motions of the hard times truly feels unbearable. Even if this government has good intentions, time is of the essence in actualising it's plans, before the common man is completely wiped away! ![]() |
If the use of the word "succeeded" is in the context of a premeditated plan as suggested by the poster, then I can only congratulate the Governor and wish him well. ![]() |
I guess the OP's username is another moniker for "beer parlour". ![]() |
Sour grapes! ![]() |
I guess this is what The Bible terms persecution. A noble creed but very difficult to withstand especially when the "self preservation" instinct kicks in. May God help us. |
Strength & honour! His name should be immortalised, & his family compensated for his bravery. |
Sarcastic! |
..such as #500 to a dollar? |
What the car (Nigeria) needs is an good driver with a background of an experienced mechanic. After all many of the drivers in Nigeria were once mechanics! ..sadly (We) the passages nor the car can be replaced ![]() |
