You are just applying for the kids so you need to provide the POF for them now.The rates you applied as parents has nothing to do with the kids application


Treat each application independently, the rules apply for them to show maintenance funds minimum 28days from their own application date not the parents

If the rates have affected it, top up and restart the count

Hello @dduchess90, @justwise and other gurus. Please i need expert opinions.

I and my spouse got our visas, and now I want to apply for my 2 kids. The required fund for 4 of us as at the time i applied for us parents has now been exceeded based on inflation.
However, there's an option in the kids application that says "MA has supplied evidence of maintenance funds"
Now my questions.
Can I pick the above option or would I need to upload a separate updated Statement of account for the kids? Cos at this point inflation has impacted the funds.

Or do I need to write a letter explaining the rates as at the time i applied for parents.

It depends on the ECO especially since you didn't provide key evidence. Evidence speaks louder than words in most cases..

Please do a TB test, just incase you get another NSF

I didn't notice..but that's gone I don't think I was asked for address and dates..I was only asked for one address and I put my Nigerian one there

I did assisted services by TLS and I told her to include the details and the TB exemption

I don't have copies of my passport showing the dates of my Uae residency..but all the stamps and residency are on the passport I already submitted and I indicated it in my previous mail....I would send a follow up mail right now adding my ticket into Nigeria and tenancy for UAE

on your website . it says I am exempt from needing a TB certificate as I have lived for at least 6 months in a country(in my case UNITED ARAB EMIRATES) where TB screening is not required by the UK, and I haven't been away from that country for no more than 6 months.
my resident visa page is on my passport as well as entry and exit stamps on my passport to prove I satisfy this condition ...in addition ,I attached my resident visa file for UAE.


Please let me know if this doesn't apply or if I don't satisfy the condition so I can make provision for the TB certificate in the duration of the stipulated time.Thank You

I believe the address section should have provision for multiple entries especially when there are dates from X to y(unless it's changed)

In the additional information,you could have included your UAe details and the TB exemption

In sending your the email did you include copies passport showing the dates for your UAE residency, and arrival to the country to show you haven't been here up to 6months, did you also include evidence of your tenancy of in UAE?

You should book a TBtest just incase the ECO is not satisfied with your response, hopefully they come back to you for it and not draw conclusions

in the visa application..there was no space to provide Uae address but I declared it in my visa application that I have been in Uae


in my passport ..there is still my resident visa at the last page of my passport..as well as entry and exits stamps

Yes,the Uni will reflect in the CAS that they are happy with the document you supplied for English Proficiency.

If the Uni accepts it, then the ECO won't have a problem

Yes , the condition for a part time student is that you cannot work, it's is also difficult to find a Uni to offer you part time plus your study will be longer compared to full time

You haven't arrived, the 10days starts to count when you do.

Arriving 5days before your visa vigenette expires should be fine, as long as you collect your BRP before it does

Passport collected: 6th Jan for MA and dependants.

Please I want to confirm if the dependant can arrive (5)days to expiration of the Vignette because the dependant works offshore and won't be available to travel until 29th March while the my Vignette expires 6th April.
Hope it will not affect the BRP because I saw something about collection of BRP stating:
"You must collect your BRP before your vignette expires or within 10 days of arriving in the UK, whichever is the later"

Please take your time to read and understand the first page of the thread.

In summary,a major requirement of study visa is to show evidence of your maintenance funds for 9months and any pending tuition balance (if you haven't paid all). This carries 10points for this visa category.

This has to be in your account for a minimum of 28days before the date of application and the statement when printed should be used before 31days.

It isn't a screenshot of the balance it is a full statement of your account.

You can print your bank statement from your bank or get a downloaded statement if it has the necessary contact details and it is signed

He put single?? He is married regardless and should have indicated that even though he isn't travelling with his dependants.

Anyway it should be fine, the onus is on the documents you provide to show that your relationship/marriage is substantial.

You could do a cover letter to address this error and pay for assisted service so it can be uploaded during your biometrics

The point I am making is, if you have made those payments then why are you asking if it should be deducted.

What you are submitting is the balance of your statement and invoice/receipt of things you have paid for since your arrival

Because you are submitting multiple statements (yours and dependant), include a cover letter to explain what statement refers to who so the ECO doesn't get confused

It isn't just this Uni.

Most Uni's now understand that people present all sort of documents that are not a true representation of their financial circumstances to study in the UK

Policies will always change for reasons like this and if we aren't careful it will only get worse, not just from Uni's end but from the Government

That's the reason we discourage certain topics on this thread. Data and sometimes direct quotes are gotten from open public sources like this but alot of people don't understand that

Hopefully the form A process can get better so people don't get affected

It’s going to be a bit complicated.

First check the refund policy for Derby. Once you withdraw from offer with Derby, your sponsorship would be withdrawn and so your visa. You will need a new CAS and a new application with home office. Check the processing time first before you progress.

A piece of advice, asides professional courses like medical related or law related. I do not think courses at undergraduate or postgraduate has much impact of your chosen career. I had distinction in my MBA and the only added advantage it has given me is securing interviews. There are professional certifications and trainings you can undertake if you want to switch careers. Securing a job is dependent on your CV, how you can defend it and how you sell yourself to the Hiring manager.

Have a good grade in whatever courses you undertake and it would increase you chances of getting interview and it’s good on CV.

Just my own opinion and what’s I’ve seen over the years here.
