I have a middle name (Muslim name) that is only on my WAEC and date of birth, while growing up my parent converted and I as well was given a baptismal name that serves as my middle name in my Bsc and passport.... While applying for schools I used both middle names Christian and Muslim .. I have an unconditional offer already from 3 school, I just want to know what can I do , to help my visa application process, what document verifiable can I get to back this up....thanks

The declaration stage in your visa application also gives the HO authorization to verify your application and documents

Since you attached your personal consent letter that should be fine.

Look out for an NSF to provide any additional documents if at all.

Yes I attached a signed personal consent letter, which I title Letter of Consent for Financial Evidence.

I read through the body of the Home of Office own now, and it says it's a letter to allow them to verify my application information. This to me seems like a big deal, doesn't not signing it means I do not authorise them to verify my information?

Is there anything I can do remotely to help avert Refusal of NSF mail?
I mean will a paid call and paid mail do any good?

There is a lot to factor in when it comes to Mortgage in the UK especially when you are on a Student Visa,perhaps with the right Mortgage Advisor and Solicitors you can pull through however they insist on a minimum stay in the UK of 2years.

Most lenders will not want to offer with this visa catergory and the few ones that will do so will be at a higher interest rate.

We can't confirm if 18M is enough for a down payment because we don't know the value of the house you want to buy, your affordability and the deposit the lender will request.

My advise will be when your siblings have arrived and settled in properly (6months to 1year) you can approach an advisor to discuss this

It's a long journey with buying a house in the UK, you have to be prepared for it.

But when you do, it is so worth it

My two younger brothers are also coming in February for their masters with their wife’s
and kids

The 3 of us are planning on buying a property which would serve as a family house for 3 of us our wife’s and kids, instead of paying multiple rent.

We jointly have about 18M in Nigeria
Please can this be enough to serve as a down payment for a bungalow where we can spread the balance over the years in a mortgage plan.

Also, we are planning on putting all the funds (18M) into one account and send it to UK via form A. Would this be possible?

Please can someone advise me on the process for all this and guide us on what best to do to avoid mistakes

As long as it was valid at the time of your visa application it should be fine even at POE ( you can back it up by saying you haven't spent more than 6months since the TB test date in Nigeria) from when it expires in Jan 21 to Feb 28 (at most)

Bio was on the 13th of Dec for Myself, son and MA, MA got her visa on priority after 5days.

Had to wait for the said 15working days for mine.


I sent a paid mail on the 3rd of Jan and they said no decision yet. Checked this morning was still in DMC, checked like 30mins ago and already sent to VAC for me but still in DMC for my son.

No nsf mail, no refusal mail, no requesting for more documents mail.

I have never bn this tensed.

You may use this to calculate, 28days after Dec 3rd, is Dec 31. Depending on circumstances, we've read stories of some folks who dont wait until the full 28 day calendar and granted visa, but if book is to follow, Jan 1, would have been the best but Dec 30 not bad

1. Yes,it is exactly 28 days if you include 3rd and 30th

2. Maybe it is an error,you need to book an appointment first before you can either upload the document yourself or take it to TLS for assisted service

What a trip,please factor in the following

1. Delays/cancellation on airpeace flight

2. Minimum 3hrs to check in and board with International flights

You will need to speak to Airpeace about luggage allowance,the last I remember it was 15kg domestic (this may have changed)- @Giselle237 has given the correct weight

Alternative plan is to waybill a day before so it gets there before you, arrive at Lagos and collect it the next day before proceeding to the airport

If you can afford an extra day, please break your trip down, if not then it should be okay with the plans

Your focus is on your masters degree and ensuring you get great scores,your target is minimum a merit grade. However,you are entitled to work 20hrs per week and you will try to do so to gain some international work experience when it is convenient perhaps during holidays

You have a work restrictions of 20hrs per week during term time and fulltime during holidays only

You can do a quick Google search using worse case scenario (minimum wage) and do the maths, coupled with your expenses

In my experience that is unrealistic.

POF can be transferred to you, please keep the evidence for this.Because it is a large sum, I assume she might need to go the bank for it, any form she fills keep a copy, the narration should carry your name and maybe school fees and maintenance funds tag so it's clear it came from her.Just incase it is asked at POE

Processing form A from either account is your decision,there might be additional documents to support it being done from her account perhaps birth certificate,please confirm with the bank so they can advise appropriately

Based on the information you have provided unfortunately you can't bring your ex spouse.

Spouse dependant visa is based on a substantial marriage/relationship and being seperated means it doesn't exist at the moment

It is up to you to finalize things

1. Reconcile with her and she remains your spouse

2. Proceed to divorce

Please don't do number one for the sake of visa purposes, if you choose to it should be intentional,you could have family lawyers mediate into this and have it documented that you have reconciled and working on your marriage.

Having your marriage certificate or pictures and filing for her when separated and clearly do not have a substantial relationship is deceit, which will catch up in future.

And yes if she proceeds to apply as a spouse dependant when her status during her visit was filled as seperated,it will be flagged up.You will have to provide evidence as to what has changed and why( in most cases verifiable documents)

1. Wait for collection mail for main applicant

2. Be patient and wait for dependants decision and collection mail, they can join you later. The MA is the one that needs to resume school.
