Hello In summary your application has not been decided yet. The rest about booking and tickets are advisory Wait till Monday and chase/request for escalation if you don't get an update by then Cheers Heywizz: @dduchess90 / Other Guru’s in the house.
Good Evening.
I received the message below from UKVI this night after I contacted them, my 15 working days is still Friday but decided to contact them.
Can you please further explain what it means.
Thank you for contacting UK Visas and Immigration International Contact Centre.
With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, I can confirm that your application is being considered and is currently awaiting a decision. We understand how frustrating these delays are and apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.
You will be contacted by the Visa Application Centre (VAC) when your passport is ready for collection. Do not attend the VAC until you have been invited to do so.
You are not required to book any travel before you apply or before a decision is made on your application. You’ll only be refunded if we have not started processing your application.
We strongly recommend that you do not buy a non-refundable, non-flexible ticket to the UK, until your visa application has been approved and you have received your documents. Regards, |

Hello It depends on the border patrol officer, the advice is always to have your updated bank statement 2. Keep evidence for any deductions (i.e fees payment or rent agreement) so you can present it if requested Cheers Idahosah: Hello Everyone, Please i will like to ask the following:
1)Is POF needed at the POE
2) Can there be a deduction in POF after Visa application. |

Hello We had the 26 and 27th Dec and 2nd Jan But work generally slows down during the holiday. If you don't get an update by the week you can chase with an escalation by Monday 9th January Cheers Hapempem: Thanks tobatele and dduchess90 for your responses.
The problem I am having is that, I do not even know how many days are public holidays in the UK in December.
I am aware that bank holidays fell on either 2 or 3 days in December and 1 day in January which made me loose count of the number of working days after my biometrics.
I will appreciate any clarification as regards this.
Thanks a lot |

Hello Could you reconfirm the dates here, it seems to be only a day interval 2. You will collect your BRP in the UK,I assume you have the letter /email for it. If not please search the thread for the email address and request for your BRP letter/email Cheers. Ifelajulo: Good afternoon,
I applied for student dependent visa since 28th Nov, I made a paid call after 15 working days and it was escalated. I got my passport this morning with vignette. No BRP. But I am confused because of what was written on it.
Valid from: 26/12/2022 Valid until: 27/12/2022
My spouse will finish his course 31st January 2023 and his VISA is still valid till 30/05/2022.
What am I suppose to do .

Do update the house once you do Cheers patty10: Hi, I called the airline and they said as long as I’m not leaving the airport, the transit visa isn’t required When I checked on line, they said it’s transit visa on arrival for stay over 4hrs. Hello Have a file containing the documents you submitted during your application including your updated bank statement Cheers ADEX0123: Pls what abt dependant, what will dey have at hand for point of entry.
When you come to the forum, it is important to take time and read the pages. This question has been answered multiple times. with people recently sharing some experience.
That said, you are advised to hold your:
CAS BRP Letter (hard copy) Updated Statement of account for balance POF / Receipts if you made payment. Evidence of where you will be staying in the UK and be prepared to answer basic questions about your school/course etc.
hope that helps |

I stay on the boundary between Lagos and Ogun state. My utility bill carries my house address as Lagos; in my marriage certificate also carries my address as lagos. But I printed my bank statement, it carries my house address as Ogun state.
Does it really matter? How do I handle this.

Hello That's fine It seems you looked at the 'Join family/Settlement' wait time which is 24weeks.-Screenshot 1 That is not your catergory, you are under the Spouse dependant (study) visa category The standard wait time for study visa application which also covers the dependants in this same category is an average of 3weeks- Screenshot 2. There is no priority or super priority for dependants. Bear in mind that this could still take more time as you can see from people on the thread. Cheers jemmyjae: I am applying as his dependant. He will be starting his PHD by January 16th. He applied to extend his visa.

@dduchess90 post=119591405]Hello
Standard decision wait time for dependant visa is an average of 3weeks(15working days). There is no priority or super-priority available for dependants.
Happy New Year

Hello In summary POF-Proof of funds- This is part of the requirements by the UKvi to show evidence of your maintenance for 9months for your study in the UK.Pending on the location of your Uni you should have £1023 for Uni outside London and £1334 within London. In most cases people also include the balance of their tuition in the sum 2. CAS: Confirmation of acceptance for study. This is the final document you receive from your Uni when you have fulfilled all conditions, you will need the number in this document to apply for your visa 3. TLS- Teleperfomance company, this is a third party company used by the UKVI for biometrics services. Here your documents will be submitted (if assisted) finger prints and picture captured for your visa.Only in Lagos and Abuja so you have to travel to either of these locations for it 4. iHS: Immigration Health Surcharge, this is basically your health insurance for the duration of your study. 5.The difference between standard and priority is the wait time Standard is an average of 15working days and Priority an average of 5working days. However, there could still be delays when you pay for priority Please note this is a layman summary terms not detailed or official. That will take more than a post to explain Cheers Khalid72: ma please kindly breakdown this accronyms for me POF CAS TLS IHS the difference between standard and priority. |

Hello You seem to be a problem on this thread Did you see the option 3 I put their about trying a different card. Also calling customer service will get it sorted for you.i have travelled with this airline before and all I did was call customer service and it was booked. This isn't opinion, this is facts. Customer service resolves things, that is their core function, enquiries, complaints and possible resolution. Please stop with your ignorance Is anyone competing with you? This attitude won't take you far in the UK. Like I said calm down You gave a wrong advice earlier about 28days and biometric but I ignored it because I am tired of saying the same thing You seem to focus on commenting on my post but feel free Cheers CEZEJUST: If na me give this advice watch as they will attack me from left right and center. But now attack, all attackers are looking sideways.
Turkish airline only accept dollars card.
It has nothing to do with browser or customer service.
What happened to only post facts and not opinion? Because people are here for only facts.
Make una dey calm down with oversabi and itoo know. Nobody is an island of knowledge. |
