Very complicated process,switching Uni's can be a pain

There was a rule of thumb when I worked with the International office at Coventry Uni a long time ago. If the international student has more than 28days on their visa and make this request, we will withdraw sponsorship and ask them to return home and reapply to the new Uni of choice, there might be refunds (after deductions) if you paid in full or even charges ( if you owe fees and have received lectures/ used the Uni's services), not applicable in your case as you haven't started lectures yet.

If you don't fulfill the conditions in the new Uni you can't reverse this decision,you will have to reapply again

This may have changed though but try to use this as a guide for a worst case scenario

Besides that, you have to provide solid evidence as to why you have made this decision and while finance might be one, you had already provided your POF showing fees and maintenance for your study so this may not count.

It's easier for an Undergrad than a postgraduate tbh.

My advice, stick to your Uni or prepare for the rough road ahead, noone likes to deal with this sort of requests

Coincidentally and fortunately, another school I applied to just gave me an offer and it’s 5K pounds cheaper than Derby and the course is better than what I’m studying in Derby

The staff at TLS is not the ECO and has absolutely no say in deciding your visa.

That being said, you should have answered that question regardless of the format you use.

Dependants can arrive at anytime,the MA is the priority,however, because it has taken quite a while now, repeat the paid mail you did and request for escalation

Pls i i need to know if someone have my kind of experience because i feel i have messed up

I applied for dependant visa on the 15 of november
My bio was on the 17th of novrmber and that of the main applicant was on the 16 of novrmber

On the day of my biometrics, i was asked my name which i answered, but when i was asked my date of birth by the staff in charge, i now asked if i should answer with the format it is on my passport, unfortunately the staff stayed mute and the next thing i was snapped and my biometrics taken.

On the 24 of november, the main applicant was asked to forward additional document while i was sent an empty NSF mail on the 25th of november.

The main applicant has since gotten her visa since december 5 while i am yet to receive anything further regarding my own..i however sent a paid mail on the 21st of december and i was told a decision hasn't be made...

I am kind of scared that it is because i didnt answer the question regarding my date of birth that has caused this, i am also scared i may be refused or banned.

Does anyone else have this expirience, plus i need advise on what to do

Your question is unclear

If you have paid your fees and accommodation and have the evidence why are you asking if you should remove that from your POF? How did it get paid in the first place if this question is asked?

Remember POF is for your use in the UK, anything else is deceit

Yes they will send refusals via email.

Refusal mail will come first and then collection mail follows.

For approval,you either get a BRP mail saying your visa has been approved and will contain details of your BRP collection when you arrive or you get a collection mail to get your documents.

BRP mail should come before collection but it is not always the case and people have had to chase BRP mails seperately

1.Again this is if the ECO requests for it and the reason is to confirm funds were not recycled. If this happens the ECO might give a duration from date xyz to date xyz, then you can provide the statement for that period and provide the invoice/receipt evidence for what has been spent which should be expected as the MA has arrived since ,paid fees and settled down

Just the address during your application should suffice

Any additional NSF you get if at all we can all advise appropriately

1.No, you are applying as a Dependant not student, she should have them ready incase you get an NSF for the MAs POF, that evidence will form what has been spent and what is left

2. Yes, you are joining your MA who is already in the UK

3. Pending on the location of the MAs Uni, please check the thread for previous answers given

4. Average standard wait time of 3weeks if not more,dependants are not a priority,the MA is

5. The focus is on providing proof that your marriage/relationship is substantial,again we have provided information about this on the thread if you read through, you can also look at people's timeline and documents they submitted

Please I have a few questions about a student-dependent visa, and I am not sure if it has been answered here already.

My wife and I have paid off the school fees (the last payment is currently awaiting bank disbursement of funds) and just her living expenses that is with her (she resumed September last year)

1. Do we need to add the receipts for the school fees as part of my application?
2. Do we need a UK address to apply as she's currently living with family and now her own space is pending when I arrive?
3. How much POF is needed for the application?
4. How long does it take for a decision to be made for a dependent application? (I am assuming dependents can't make use of priority service)
5. What necessary/convincing documents do you think would be necessary to avoid delays from NSF?

The concept of priority is to reduce the decision waiting time from a standard 15working days to an average of 5working days but this is not always the case.

There could be more delays if the ECO needs more time to assess your application or request for additional documents

Based on the location of the MAs Uni the maintenance should either be

1. Within London: £845*2*9 or

2. Outside London:£680*2*9

Since the MA has been here since September, the balance of the school fees and maintenance funds should already be in the MAs account and should be able to present that plus any other evidence to show maintenance spent in school (i.e rent /bills payment)

What is the count for your dependant?if it is past the 3weeks then you can make a paid call to confirm the status

Dependants can arrive at anytime,the main focus is for the MA to resume school

Factor in visa application delays, time in checking affordable flights,travel, settling in and getting BRP (which could be delayed)

Your target should be between 6-3months before your current visa expires and your switch to PSW

Yes, the criteria is that they must have been dependant on his previous student visa before applying for PSW dependants except they were born while he was studying or they were born in the UK.

Yes you can apply for you and your wife only, leaving your kids behind with someone you trust and can take good care of them

You can apply when ready but ensure you have enough time on your current visa and ensure you bring them in before you switch to PSW if that is the route you choose

The restricted work is the correct condition for dependant partners -study route

They can't work as a sportsperson ( for example professional coach)

If this is what your dependant has then there is nothing to address

Your POF is for your study in the UK so it shouldn't have an expiration date. Any other arrangements is full on deceit and if caught you will be banned from entering the UK for 10years

Great as long as they are aware.

Keep an eye on your email for your collection mail,if you booked any flight please reschedule.

Hopefully you get your documents before 16th or you have an extended time from your Uni to resume

The chasing doesn't end until you ha e your passport the only difference is the title has moved from visa status to passport/travel documents collection

Chase again with TLS and UKVI so you get .But like I always say, with dependants you have to be patient,they are not the MA and can arrive at anytime

My dependants got their BRPs on the 18th Dec, decision made on 13th Dec, Bio done on 8th Dec. It has passed 15 working days post Bio and 10working days post BRP receipt.

Paid mail on 30th Dec, paid call on 4th Jan.
Till now no passport, no mail, still at DMC.

What do we do Any advice?

I am supposed to be resuming on 9th January and I haven’t gotten my passport back till now.
Did a paid call and I was told that a decision has been made and I should look out for an email and also wait another 10 to 15 working days to get back my passport.

The statement should be the one in your application not a new one.

Print an up to date statement and send it, even if the exchange rate affects it now the ECO will always reflect on the rate that matched the date of application not today.

Again print your previous statement reflecting all 28days till date and submit. Remember your POF is for your maintenance in the UK

Now, my question is that the statement of account I used for my application is different from the one I want to use now. I mean I’m submitting a different statement of account from different bank this time around. I guess the other one was affected by the exchange rate. Please should I include it in my email that I’m sending my bank statement of another bank different from the one I used for my application or should I just send it like that since they didn’t specify I submit a particular one?

You didn't need the other middle name during your admission application then.
Going forward please stick to those names only

Are you submitting any of those documents for your admission or visa application? If you are then an affidavit like @Kennyliga112 mentioned should suffice
