1. You can create your application,save each step and log out if you choose to until you get to declaration stage, after that point you have to proceed to your IHS and visa fee payment

2. The ECO starts the count from the date you pay your IHS, Visa fee( called application date) not when you create your application or when you have being saving previously like no 1.

3. Uploading your documents if you choose self service or during your biometrics for assisted will come after 1 and 2 above

To answer your questions yes you can begin with no 1 above but don't proceed past the declaration step until all your documents including your POF is ready.

On visa application page, I see that one can start the process and come back to finish later, would ECO/embassy count the date that the process begins with online account creation or the date when I have everything inplace and hit submit?

Eg: if started login, upload some available documents Etc on Dec 15, but paid for /submitted on Dec 28, when everything is completed and PoF is matured per 28days rule.

Appreciate if you have link to back this up for my further specific readings?

It depends on your job/role/employer.

Some rely on DBS while others might request for a PCC.

Standard decision wait time for dependant visa is an average of 3weeks(15working days). There is no priority or super-priority available for dependants.

Once your average decision wait time of 15days is gone and you haven't gotten any update,make a paid call or mail and request for escalation. You can always do so before that time to confirm if a decision has been made though

2. Update your Uni on the progress so they are aware of any delays if at all

Yes and it's perfectly fine if they choose to.

Just like CVs,the ECO will look at what is needed and may choose to ignore others if they are satisfied or request more if concerned.

With additional documents,there isn't a rule of thumb, it's okay to submit whatever the applicants want as long as it is important for the visa category in question, consistent, authentic, verifiable and doesn't complicate issues.This includes CVs for study gap.

I will like to ask if anyone knows if the UKVI checks on if a company that gives recommendation letter to a staff who is applying for student Visa is active on CAC site or not?

The applicant did a priority application and has done biometrics more than a week ago(21st Dec), though it was just 3 days he got to know his employer's company is inactive on CAC. Hope it can't lead to a refusal?

Also, he got a generic "Not straightforward mail" without asking for any further information or documents a day after Bio and hasn't heard anything again from them and application is still at DMC.

If you used some of the funds for school purposes keep the evidence and prepare to present it if requested by either ECO or at POE

If you are ready with the above then it shouldn't be an issue.

POF needed was 11.4M when I applied for visa. Total funds in the account was 12M at the time. Used some of the money in the account and the total amount reduced to 11.6M (currently). The account statement submitted shows 12M.

It depends on the border patrol officer and how far he/she wants to go and your level of confidence

Option 1: Air b n b confirmation booking

Option 2: A letter from your friend stating he is housing you on arrival until you find your accommodation (where he lives, what sort of accommodation and how long you will be there), attaching his rent agreement, BRP, and other IDs.In his letter he should have his contact details etc

If you go with option 2 be prepared to defend the reason you aren't using your school accommodation and be ready to show your bank statement where your POFs should be for your accommodation.Actually this also applies to option 1

You should be able to see options.

When you book, ask the host to send you a confirmation email so you can print it out as evidence

After 3 month of submitting my application , few weeks ago, i visited VAC at Ikeja only for my passport to to returned without a UK visa sticker or any stamps.

On the 10th Dec, I wrote to UKVI, only to get this message :

With regards to your enquiry about the status of your application, our records indicate a decision has been made on your application. We cannot discuss the outcome of your application on-line or by telephone.

If your visa has been granted, a visa vignette (sticker) will be stuck inside your passport allowing you to travel.

i wrote them back explaining that I already have my passport but without a visa.

They responded that I write to this email (BRPLetterRequests@fcdo.gov.uk ) requesting my BRP decision/ letter.

it has been over 16 days ( 10 working days) and still no news.

I called them again today and was asked to wait due to the holidays. I’m getting FRUSTRATED!!

Do you think it might be a positive or negative outcome?

Yes, pending on the country/airport you need the transit visa to even get into the airport and find the next boarding gate and to board the next flight
