The owner that visa can request for very good data breach compensation from UKVI and with a good lawyer and all these evidence she will win

Yeah I agree with you but you didn't quite get his gist.

They didn't go with the passport from TLS, it was delivered to them at home and they opened with the mindset that it was theirs, only to find out it was another's..so thinking it was an honest mix up, he contacted the other person assuming his wife's own is there with her, which came out no, at least for now!

So the challenge now is this, if there's anything mixed up or loss in transit, God forbid..he can't claim ignorance again cos he's opened that stuff and contacted the owner! That's why I suggested keeping reasonable evidence for the records.

I read him somewhere mention Benin or Asaba as his own base and this is a parcel from Lagos. DHL, TLS, UKVI and now him will have matters arising if anything goes wrong especially at a critical time like this that a lot of people are getting behind travel schedule already.

I hope you get the whole picture now? So you may wish to advise further!

You need to sort out the age difference first on your passport with immigration and ensure the correct one is being used.

When applying come clean on the discrepancy in your age and address it

Whether or not it is flagged as deceit is up to the ECO and how much you can convince them on the truth

Data protection is a big deal in the UK, and I am certain that UKVI will review and treat the effect of this

They shouldn't have left TLS with that passport and if they did and noticed the error should have returned it immediately not contact anyone.

The person with the visa vignette can sue UKVI for this breech and make good money because she has evidence her data was leaked to a stranger who contacted her on Instagram

Actually, this will still be taken up regardless

You shouldn't have contacted anyone on social media that is breech of confidentiality.You should have notified TLS and UKVI immediately please

I am certain TLS would have retrieved it from her if it is an error

I have gist. A very funny one at that that has taken sleep off my eyes
My wife went for her dependant biometrics on the 6th of September at VI( standard). On the 14th , eve got a collection mail, tracking number and all to Asaba(DHL) . On getting there today, excited and anxious as usual, got the package( her name clearly printed in front). She opened the package to find someone else student visa approved in it. She told the DHL immediately ( she was still there)

She took a snap shot of the persons passport page, I found the person on Instagram after searching because I felt it was swapped while packaging

Now the shocker—The person paid for priority , did biometrics same date as my wife. Her tracker is still at DMC, and she hasn’t got any collection mail.she didn’t even pay for DHL. She was to collect in person when she gets the mail

My wife’s tracker is already in “ passport collected by applicant”

My wife tracker is getting pickup mails that she is supposed to get, they sent her passport through my wife’s DHL link and package.

I don’t even know what to do right now.

That's a standard not straightforward mail(NSF) informing you that more time is needed to make a decision on your application

You have to pay a deposit to secure your admission.

Although most Uni have an installment plan you are expected to show you have complete tuition funds before your visa is issued.


If you break the installment plan in place should you decide to go that route, you could be refused access to your studies, withdrawn and possibly reported to UKVI for deportation

Try to make the efforts to convince your Uni that the new Masters is a progression.

You could argue how this is crucial in progressing or redirecting your career, it should be something that will boost your current work experiences/skills/knowledge and/or needed for a critical position you aim to achieve

I had to repost because of the rate of comment here.

Please I need your guidance. I have truly gone what I can go through especially the guidelines on the page thoroughly.
I have been able to secure admission as I have earlier posted. I am trying to make the actual basic financial calculations as the main work process begins now from school fees deposit to general POF.
Here are my questions, please help a brother:

1. Can I solely use my Uncle's bank statement who is living in the UK as POF for both the school requirement before issuing CAS and in the Visa office here in Nigeria for the MA and 2 dependants. How do I proof we are family with my Uncle. What documents do we need if possible?

2. In calculating POF for the dependants (wife and 2 years old daughter) for outside London, is the calculation below correct
£680 x 9 months x 2 = £12,240
My concern is will I still use the same calculation for the mother also for the 2 year old child?

3. In applying for Visa, will the calculation for the visa fee for the MA and the 2 dependants be £490 x 3 = £1,470

I think the Airline that you booked can also tell you whether you will need transit Visa or not. One of our good guys here posted a UK government link where I read that some airports in Germany does not require Transit Visa.

Bringing someone that you aren't in a solid marriage with.That could be a recipe for disaster in future unless otherwise.

Are you certain you will get a Decree Nissi in 4weeks? I am not a lawyer but i presume you need to give the respondent time to file his counter claims. I don't want you to assume it will be 4weeks please.

If you are certain that this is the end.My opinion, defer till Sept 2023, sort out your marriage/family through whatever decision you take, apply for your visa and the kids. You are starting on a clean slate.

The kids birth certificate are what proves your relationship as their mum not your marriage certificate

Since you have arrived the UK, you should collect your BRP first and upload a copy when submitting your dependants application
