Hi,

Please double check and back trace the steps you did, ideally the number that should be requested for is the GWF******* number for the main applicant. something seems to be wrong. Check and confirm

Cheers

adenike09:
No she has not. Do you know why IHS will be asking for the main applicant's visa expiry date before it will allow the dependants pay for IHS? The main applicant is applying alongside the dependants and has been able to pay for her IHS.

Hi,

Funding is a general question, not split into first year or second year unless you give them a reason to ask more into funding for second year.

Keep it simple and defend your source of funds if you are self funded. Don't over complicate things during the interview.

Cheers

Goddys:
Please I wanted to ask the best answer to give UKVI to a question concerning how the applicant will fund his second year tuition for a master degree.

Since they require only evidence of first year tuition and maintenance money for 9 months, what's the appropriate answer to give to the above question when no evidence of second year tuition funding was required and the applicant is funding it by himself

Let me try to help..You can keep uploading your documents until 24hrs before the biometric. Once uploaded, a summary of the evidence of the documents you have submitted will be shown for you to print and take to the visa office.

You can't self upload after that submission but there should be perhaps an option to pay for a forgotten or missing document, try and email TLS on it and confirm.

24hrs before biometric should be alright for you then, you should have gotten all your documents ready at that point and submitted.
Keep uploading what is available and sign out after previewing them( ps not submit oh)

Cheers

bayosegun:
Pls@ mimi,. Is it possible to do self upload for all the credentials and submit application and do assisted upload for only tb result on biometric

Second, after submitting all documents, can one still do self upload later to upload tb ?

There really isn't any discrepancy, it is very clear.

I tried to answer it, hopefully it helps, if not ..others will jump in

bayosegun:
This should be well treated to clear confusion. Gurus already in UK should come out and clear this discrepancy of statement of account

That seems to be an easier way to go smiley

When you mean top up, I guess you mean toppping up school deposit cos even if you top up your bank account, you might need to start counting all over again from your day of top up (from my own understanding though)

TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by dduchess90(f): 1:14am On Jul 29, 2020
My response to this is for you to calculate from the date you printed your statement: 14th July to the day of your biometric 3rd September, isn't that more than 31days? if it is, then you have to reprint a recent statement.

The highlighted sentence from the email explains that it should be within 30days.

When your statement is submitted and checked for CAS, they expect it to be maintained, printed with a recent version and used up to 30days within your biometrics. Students have notoriously used different statement of accounts from CAS submission to biometric leading to outright refusal that was why it was flagged up.

Again a link to Govt guidance on tier 4 maintenance was posted here for people to see and make reference to.

Cheers

TuniLove:
The information below may be of benefit to someone.

Good morning

Thank you for your email.

A deposit can be paid at any time but we can only issue a CAS up to 3 months before the start date of your course.

For the January 2021 intake, we will start issuing CAS in late October, exact date to be confirmed, but not before 26th of that month at the earliest. We will start asking students for their bank statements to be provided from about the second week of October onwards.

This is because any bank statement you use as financial evidence must be dated within 1 month of your subsequent visa application. This also gives us time to check the bank statements, which we need to do before we issue the CAS.

As an example, if your bank statement was dated 30 September (showing the money has been held for the previous 28 days), this statement could only be used for a visa application up to 30 October, not beyond that date.

There is no guarantee that we can issue CAS from 26 October so this does not give you much time to get everything ready to make your visa application by 30 October. It would perhaps be better to have a statement dated from the second week of October onwards as this gives time to make any amendments required and leaves a good amount of time for the statement to be used for visa application after the CAS is issued.

It is best to use the same bank statement for your CAS and your visa application. We check it meets the standards set by the United Kingdom Visa Immigration service (UKVI), who ultimately process your visa.

We have had students in the past who used different statements than those they originally sent to us and ended up with a visa refusal because they did not meet the requirements.

Obviously, everything depends on the ever changing response to the pandemic in the UK but hopefully things will be back to normal by then.

I printed my statement on 14th July
Got my CAS on 24th July
Submitted my visa application on 26th July.
Got biometric date of 3rd September.
Teesside University wrote on my CAS letter that i should apply with same statement within 31days from the day i printed it which i have done and uploaded.
Since my biometric is on 3rd September, will i require to print another on my biometric day?
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by dduchess90(f): 1:01am On Jul 29, 2020
Yes, these are the documents you provide at the embassy. The CAS said award letter not certificate, so that is what they referred to, in addition to your student transcript.

If it is okay for your school to issue CAS, it should be fine. However try to make sure you have put in process to resume processing your certificate when your previous uni(Unilag) is ready, just incase you need to update your records in school

Cheers

Youngee34:
Hello,
I received my CAS yesterday.

But on the "evidence used to obtain offer" field, they wrote award letter and transcripts.

Does this mean I will provide these documents when going to embassy?

I do not have my Bsc certificate, as University of Lagos couldn't do their convocation due to some issues before the lockdown.
But we were issued a "To whom it may concern letter"

Also, the only transcript I have is the student copy transcript.
Will those suffice?

I remember mentioning this earlier, anyone submitting and paying visa fees from today has to use the current Oanda rate. Thats the annoying thing about using a foreign account and one like ours that is so volatlile and unstable.

Keep an eye everyone and keep topping up please

Cheers

naledis:
Lol definitely not serious.

In other unrelated news, exchange rate on Oanda has hit N501. Please fund your accounts if you still can to avoid having further delays with your maintenance requirements. At this rate it’s not too much to use N600/700 as a benchmark

I am a bit confused when it comes to the bank statement. Please is it compulsory to go to the bank before sending one bank statement for visa application. Or one can actually do it through the Internet banking platform.E.g Gtb has an option on their platform where you can actually request for your statement to be sent out.

Keep us posted when you have heard from the school and the options you have, i am sure they might give you a bit of time to think and respond. I'm sure you will have a clearer direction when that is done. Try and also explore Citizens Advice and the Student Union in Sunderland just incase.

You can test this hypothesis by emailing a Uni for Medicine, state that you have Biochemistry as a first degree and see their response.

Don't know how much time you have to request for a correction and new passport from NIS, Better safe with an affidavit than sorry. Remember to always ensure it is notarified. Perhaps when your passport is expired and you are about to renew you can flag this discrepancy up.

cheers

Mosopea:
hello @mimilyrics and @duchess, does this mean i need to get an affidavit too as per my previous questionsad Hello house,

First. Congratulations to your friend, this is a tricky one but my guess it she might need to apply for a tier 4 dependant visa for the baby. Not sure there is a proper advice on babies born outside the UK but I know they have for inside the UK (I am assuming the baby will be born in Nigeria) if not, then NHS covers delivery in the UK

2. Ensure these bank statements are reflected in your visa application. Read through https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/guidance-on-application-for-uk-visa-as-tier-4-student maintenance funds bit

More people will advice on this......

Goodluck

Hello guys please what is the cost implication of giving birth after visa has been issued. Will there be an extra amount required to be paid? My friend is currently pregnant and will be applying for a tier 4 visa but with all the delays she just want to be sure of any extra costs if the baby comes after visa is issued.

Secondly can i use 3 accounts to show as proof of funds? Is there a limit to the account one can use. I'm using a dom account and two savings accounts. Will that be accepted?

@Donracy, you have all the response you need and pointers on where information was gotten. If you are still worried, you can send an email citing all theses references from IOM and the closed airspace border to the school rep on your decision to do or not to do the TB test and submit your documents from the UAE.
Again as everyone has suggested be sincere and address the Canadian refusal in your application. Make sure your documents and information are authentic and genuine. Do not be worried about your view as a Nigerian in UAE with recent developments, systems are in place to appeal if anything goes wrong which i doubt.

All the best

Hopefully most schools will use the personal statement approach to justify that the applicant meets the academic progression criteria. It is easier that way.

mamacajah:
Exactly what one of the schools that gave me offer said when I asked for clarification on meeting academic progression.
Their immigration team said my personal statement already showed progression, so I was good to go and this was before any offer was made.

But it's a very good University especially in terms of computer science and you'll likely gain alot.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by dduchess90(f): 11:41pm On Jul 07, 2020
Hi,
I think it is down to how you prove to the school that you need to take a second M.sc and to show it is an academic progression which is what the UKVI is after.
Once that is achieved and you get your CAS you are good to go. Mind you , if that is your plan you have to start early and finish your new application before the old BRP expires.

Look at @mimilyrics notes on Long route to ILR (10years), if you switch routes (your MSc and specialist course won't count).

I hope this helps

Try to take the NIN to an NIMC office to reprint your slip if it is possible

Cheers

Hello everyone.

Has anyone here recently renewed their passport? I need to renew mine in a few days and I’ve been told I need my NIMC slip to do so.

I assume the primary detail they need off the slip is the NIN?

Thanks for the clarification..i didn't see your post about this weeks ago, I responded to the one you just did, which sounded like the international airport was open and people were boarding grin grin.

The hope is for commercial flights to resume in earnest, i have friends that need to visit Naija, they saw dates on Airfrance, booked it for the 3rd July and started hearing stories...

Hopefully, Life normalizes soon

mattfeuter:
I did mentioned it weeks ago that they were repatriation flights.

Which means most of the passengers coming are Nigerian nationals and passengers flying out are resident permit holders of their destination.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by dduchess90(f): 11:13am On Jul 05, 2020
How are you sure that this isn't a repatriation flight or a flight with essential commodities?

Did you go the airport to see people boarding?? or you judged the flight from the sky?

As much as this is frustrating, you can't be really sure of when flights will start, airlines will continue to show dates but can't be 100% sure (i don't know why they do this and in some cases it is the flight agencies that do that). Remember, there is no guarantee of a refund if you pay for a flight now, and it doesn't operate because international flights are still not allowed, Perhaps you might be offered a flight voucher (or whatever it is called) or keep the tickets open.

Just as someone said, be ready, sign up to as many notifications as possible, Be on alert.

mattfeuter:
The international airport was never shut down,

I think most of these confusion is really about the local flights.

As I type this , Kenya airways just arrived Murtala Airport.

Oh i am not undermining any job, as long as it pays the bills..In the UK there is dignity in labour and every experience counts.

I just tried to get jobs I am good at and could enhance my skills, for e.g I worked as a sales advisor for Superdrug(a health and beauty store), Student ambassador, worked in call centres too(like now with NHS).

Again as long as it pays the bills....its legit, within approved working hours..Please go for it

PhD calendar is even more tricky, In Cranfield, apart from Bank holidays, your Holiday is arranged between you and your supervisior...There is no timetable for research students.

Again, it might be different in other schools

hosey:
I hope you all are not working more than 20 hrs during term time.

Hope you guys know that dissertation period is term time.

A PhD is entitled go up to 8 weeks holiday per year starting from when he or she begin. So he or she can only work full time for eight weeks within a 12 month calendar year.
TravelRe: Uk Student Visa/tier 4 Pbs - Your Questions Answered Part 4 by dduchess90(f): 12:25pm On Jul 02, 2020
You should double-check this timetable with your prospective school to be sure...Simply because there could be deadline submissions during some holidays and that would count as term time.

Again double-check that this is okay with your schools tier 4 or international office team. Most people I know including myself waited till dissertation submission before engaging full-time work, I been no want stories that touch with time table mixup as it could vary in other schools.

STENON:
## Just some random thoughts to share with the applicant... ##
For January admission:
January- April : back to school, 20 hours work per week,
May to mid September : full time work without any restriction.
Mid September to mid December: Back to school(20 hours work per week),
mid December to early January : holiday (full time work), January to April: Dissertation( 20 hours work p/w),
April to August : Holiday( full time work, Graduation).

For September admission:
Mid September to mid December: Back to school(20 hours work per week),
mid December to early January : holiday (full time work),
January- April : Back to school, 20 hours work p/w,
May to mid August : Dissertation( 20 hours work p/w), August to October : Holiday( full time work, Graduation)

Read through the arguments and the fears are understandable...i am privilege to work with the NHS test and trace program so i think i can add to this by saying any lockdown will start with the city for example (Leicester) if more, the county (Leicestershire), if more neighbouring counties and perhaps East Midlands in that level. However, i think UK Govt have always said they won't hesitate to move straight to a full on lockdown if need be so i understand where @lagosismyhome is coming from.

In conclusion, everyone is right but in different levels.

Hopefully, people comply when they are asked to self-isolate. For now no need to panic unless the city where you might be schooling is in the news and you'll be advised appropriately.

@skymoore your gist was the last that's why i responded
