Ok, that means you have an electrical fault somewhere. your technician should start from your fuses. Just calm down, there's no cause for alarm.

Calm down. Its not an oil issue. it is electrical.

the guy who asked you about your brake-light was not pulling your legs. he was serious.

Ur brake-light switch activates a solenoid that locks and unlocks your selector while its at the "P" position. That's the reason you have to step on your brake pedal each time you want to pull out of "P". If that switch goes bad, the lock/unlock solenoid will not work.

So, in a case where your brake-light works, which means the brake-light switch is working, and your selector is still locked in the "P" position, it could then mean one out of two things; either the wire of the solenoid is disconnected or the solenoid itself has gone bad.

your technician needs to know what he's doing to be able to diagnose and properly fix this simple issue or else, he will end up robbing your car of that selector locking (safety) mechanism.

Good day nairalander, the increasing in the issues of time belt is getting me worry especially in all this vehicle that are not common in our road. Example Mitsubishi space wagon GDI to mention one.
My questions are:

1. What are the signs your time belt need to be replaced.
2. Any interval for the replacement like we always do for engine oil.
3. Peradventure yours is not visible, hope the mechanic will not damage the engine while trying to remove it.

please your contribution if you experience it before and how did you solve will be appreciated.

For your Mitsubishi GDI which is an "interference engine" (type that bends valves when timing belt snaps), your timing belt change interval should be at about 60,000miles if its an OEM belt. (Manufacturer specified)

My Mitsubishi space wagon GDI has been giving me problems since the beginning of this year. All starting when the timing belt cut. My mechanic told me that it has affected the top cylinder. So I decided to buy another engine; since then, the car cannot start and my mechanic suggested I should buy another brain box which I did and still nothing happened so he suggested buying another and to change everything concerning the brain box with the kick.
Please, how can this car be fixed without resorting to buying another new engine or other brain box?

Your mechanic has been working blind. all he has been doing is bombarding parts at the car more so without direction. I suggest you get your car out of there and find someone who can really trouble shoot your car.

The Mitsubishi GDI is not a terrible technology. whats in it is the technician's understanding of the said technology.
