I've been dating this girl for some months now,I really love her a lot but she has some issues
Lemme explain, when we started dating she was the perfect girl until after about a month, I noticed any time she was with my phone she would go through my WhatsApp. Any time I confront her about it she'll accuse of me of cheating and hiding things from her and because of the that we had a big fight, I tried calling her to apologize but she avoided my calls,it was not until she got into a fight with one of her friends because she was checking his WhatsApp that she apologized and we settled. Now to the latest,I observed that she loved reporting every little issue we have to my friends,which I don't like (I like my privacy) she actually reported our relationship to a friend of mine who I'm not in talking terms with, in the course of the guy trying to intervene, he insulted me so much, he called me a liar so many times and I couldn't do anything cos my girlfriend was the one who involved him. After the chat I got in touch with my girlfriend and told her politely that I didn't like the way she carried our relationship issues to my friends, that my friends' girlfriends never reported their issues to me they way she did to them and she exploded, she called names,she started crying saying I should give her space because I'm making her regret getting into the relationship. Now she hasn't answered my calls since then. She doesn't respect me at all,she makes me feel as if I'm maltreating her, she doesnt take anything i say and does anything she sees fit. please should I continue with the relationship or not.
PS: she's the only daughter of her family, could it be the reason she acts like this?

Fear and apprehension has taken over the University of Agriculture as indications emerged that a large number of Staff whose appointments ought to be regularized will be shown the way out.
Our sources in the university who pleaded anonymity disclosed that the governing council of the university rising from their meeting agreed to sack the staff all of whom were employed by the former VC Prof Hilary Edeoga.
According to the source, most of the staff affected attended the regularisation interview conducted in 2016 by the former VC but did not collect their letters of regularization before the VC pulled out of the office.
However, the source added that immediately the new VC assumed office, he declared the regularisation interview inconclusive and mandated all affected staff to reapply stating why their appointments should be renewed. “We all reapplied though we were apprehensive that the new VC wanted to sack most of us and replace us with his kinsmen and friends, like he did when he was rector in Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, Afikpo, Ebonyi State.
We were not surprised when news broke out that the governing council decided to sack all of us. We have been complaining about it right from the start when he declared the transparent and fair regularisation interview inconclusive.
Some of us were offered temporary appointments while others were head hunted to join the university from other universities. Majority of us were interviewed after sometime which is a standard civil service rule in a bid to regularise our appointments.
However, the former VC did not have time to sign the letters of regularisation or authorise the registrar to do same before activities marking his pulling out kick started.
Some weeks ago he set up a committee to look at the credentials of all staff involved with a view to sacking those whose certificates were questionable or those occupying positions they were not qualified to occupy.
The committee had neither concluded their work nor submitted their report before the VC presented the issue to Council that were just inaugurated and had their first meeting.
On many occasions while addressing staff, he told us that he does not want anybody to lose his/her job.
Imagine our shock that after the governing council meeting, information we got indicate that all of us will be sacked. In fact the decision was that all our arrears should be paid while our june salary will also be paid. The letters of termination will take effect from July 1.
The registrar has been mandated to sign the letters, though unverified sources say the registrar is unwilling to sign the letters”, our said said.
While I share their plight on the development, I will also want to highlight certain points:
-it is ethical for the new VC to declare the regularization inconclusive since his predecessor didn't sign the letters of regularization, hence, the reason he termed it inconclusive...no beef!
-there was a second chance for the affected staff to re-apply (though it could be politically motivated so as to exonerate himself of any blame of not conducting a second exercise to ascertain the authenticity of the former). In any case, I think Federal Jobs have some degree of security and you can't just be laid off or demoted without reasons tenable in any court/union.
-a committee was set up to look at the certificates of staff and this means; it is only those with irregularities that risk termination.
-as an under-graduate during his reign in AIFPU, I had the opportunity to meet him trice and listen to him talk, he is good at sanitizing systems. I do not take away the fact that it could have some political undertone but you can't take away the fact that he is not entirely wrong in his moves to straighten all whirled ropes. Talk about school politics, it is played everywhere. Just ensure that as a staff/employee, your credentials and means of gaining promotion aren't questionable.
-finally on this; The committee had neither concluded their work nor submitted their report before the VC presented the issue to Council that were just inaugurated and had their first meeting. While one can't conclude on the rationale behind this, there are lots of reasons actions of this nature are taken, one is: not being able to meet the deadline (and didn't apply for extension of time), he (the VC) could perceive it as a deliberate attempt to squash the exercise.

GlobalGisting: I just am still feeling somehow. Let me start from the top.
I moved into a new flat in Benin City recently. But I left my things in my other apt in Lagos. So I am still putting the House in order. I only have my electronics in the parlour but the rooms have been fixed up. I also have paid the guys making the seats but they are yet to finish up so in d interim I am using the carton of my TV to lay in the parlour while I watch TV whenever I'm home.
So this morning, I woke up said my prayers and stepped into the parlour. Opened the front door briefly and locked it, went back to my bathroom and washed my mouth. Then came back into the parlour to watch morning news.
I layed on the carton as I always do, but I was feeling some movement beneath the foamed part where I rest my head, at first I felt it was the from adjusting but on a second thought I got up to arrange it.
As I took the white foam up to shift it a little higher, lo and behold, a snake crawled out from beneath my "pillow". I felt like disappearing. I screamed snake and my cousin who came in yesterday ran out of his room and gallantly killed the snake.
Usually I don't get afraid, I killed animals and even went hunting in the past, but this was a close call. I've been so full of thanks to God. "Though I "sleep" on snakes...I shall not be bitten.
My chair must be finished tomorrow wether they like it or not. I've been patient enough.

If he's the man he should be by taking his decisions without his mum influencing it, then that's cool but if he's the mummy's boy that is still controlled by the mum like a child, then watch cos his mum will run your family for you!
code9: I am in the midst of applying for a new job. I have interviewed three times with a prospective employer and have been told that I am one of the final candidates for the position.
The HR rep contacted me and asked if they can contact my current manager/supervisor for a reference. I explained that I would prefer they not contact my manager, since it may jeopardize my standing with my current employer. They keep insisting that they speak with my current manager, but I am afraid that if they do, my current employer may let me go in layoffs or attempt to force me out of the job somehow (i.e., re-assign, transfer, etc).
Am I obligated to provide the reference to the prospective employer? I feel that their insistence is unprofessional and inappropriate. What if they contact my employer and end up not offering me the job? Or what if I don’t accept the job offer? What is the best way to handle this without losing either job?

It might just be a strategy (psychologically) to ascertain if you have a good relationship with your current employer.
It is unprofessional for them to contact your current employer when they've not given you an appointment. The most they can do is to verify if you actually work in that organisation and HRs know how they do it without the company knowing they wanna pull you out. Some interviewers will ask you if they have a permission from you to contact your employer, simply tell them yes-most of them will never do.
I would have told them from day one that they are free to contact my employer if I were in your shoes. It shows that you are confident enough and has nothing to fear about whatever enquiry they are making.
iyaayi: My live in brother in law of whom we are agemates barged into my room unannounced this morning. I was totally naked & had to dive under the bed from the shame & shock.
He stood there apologising that he didn't know i was in the room (we had met outside by the clothes line a short while ago). The most painful part is that my husband who was lying in d bed in the room didn't find it necessary to utter a word. When I confronted him, he said that shebi his brother had said 'sorry' I really don't know what to do. The guy erred but you didn't calculate right by not locking the room while going unclad when u know there's a third party under the same roof. The guy might have unconsciously barged in-it happens to everyone especially when you got some other urgent and pressing issues bugging your mind.
To the matter, most men don't act the way women act(impromptu) and you must understand that. Unless your brother-in-law has got you on his mind, he would still apologize to your hubby but you don't have to ask your boo if he eventually did; they are brothers anyway.

On the 6th of July I resigned voluntarily from my place of job due to breach of contract from the Indians I was working with. My job became hell instead of heaven for me. I was paid off my remaining contract terms and I was back again in the streets again looking for another job. Days went into weeks and weeks ran into months.
I woke up every morning starting at my mail box and hoping that something would come forth from the numerous applications I sent out. Whoever told me that I would stay at home for this long period of time searching for a job, I would have seen the person as an enemy of progress.
Months ran into months and it dawned on me that I was currently spending my 6th month at home and it was a new year 2017. The prayer intensity increased as I continued to bind and cast every spirit of my village people.
Luck dawned on me and I got two invites simultaneously; one from Indians again and the other from an indigenous firm. The Indian firm had a higher pay, and they were willing to increase it just to convince me join them. After due consultations, praying and fasting, I decided to go for the Nigerian firm whose salary scale was far below my level but I felt I would have peace of mind. I was initially employed to spear head the marketing activities of the company, but along the line they continued to add up other job functions which even included uploading contents to the company’s website and managing it. I willingly accepted so as to develop myself in those areas.
One faithful day in the second month of my new workplace, I got a call with a foreign number asking me if I could have chance for a Skype interview. I accepted and the interview was conducted and I was being begged to take up a marketing manager’s role with an Indian firm here in Nigeria. I played along till the salary part and when it was dropped, it was too good to believe. I accepted the job and promised to resume but deep down I knew I wasn’t going to resume. I hated working for Indians and I felt I should be loyal to my Nigerian employer.
My parents were in support of my loyalty and my boss even asked me not to dump the company but instead, I should grow with it. I continued and my hope of better days and the hope that my little beginning would take me places kept me going. A point came and my boss even praised me for being such a good addition to his firm and promised me heaven and earth.
I was even sent on training with my prospective firm, which I didn’t go because I felt that I wasn’t going to resume with them the next month. Towards the ending of the month, I was asked to undertake an assignment in my current firm. I was asked to design a brochure using Corel draw.
“Wetin concern Corel draw and Marketing na?” I asked myself. Me trying to be a good employee, I decided to give it a trial so as to show that I still love my job and would do anything to keep it.
After designing, I submitted and was congratulated on a job well done. Just the Sunday that ended that month, I got a message on my Whatsapp that said “When you are free please call me.”
I immediately called my boss and with happiness at least for the last month’s salary, he told me…
“I am sorry to inform you that you will no longer be resuming with us for the next month…” I never really allowed him to land as I terminated the call right there in the middle of his explanations and bullshit!!
He continued to call till on Monday morning as I picked up my new suit and tie and resumed work with the nationals I dreaded the most!
“What if I had rejected the Job before hand?”
"What really happened?" These were the questions that flooded my mind as I waited where they asked me to wait for the driver to pick me up!
I'm trying to place this; why would your boss call you repeatedly when he is already done with you? I think you should have followed the conversation till the end. Some would suggest he wants you to properly hand over but you never can tell what's in a man's mind.
If the story is as narrated, then you simply jumped into conclusion by not ending the conversation mid way and refused to honour subsequent calls.
