I am having a dilemma at hand. I have three job offers before me to choose from in 7 days!

First, I have been jobless for more exactly two years now. Last year I spoke with a friend we served together about my situation and he invited me to come stay with him in Lagos and try my luck in securing a job. So February last year I joined him in Lagos, started off with job hunting, before Two weeks my resources ran dry. Fortunately for us, he was staying in his parents house not paying rents (parents are in Abuja). February this year his elder brother was transfered to Lagos with his family (He work with a government security agency). The Bros saw how the two of us has been idle and he wasn't happy with it, so when I get invites for a job interview, the Bros supports me with transport fare and some confidence.

After many tries he called me and told me he wants to buy a car that I be using for Uber/Taxify that I will be giving return of 20,000 weekly against the 25-30k norms. I was overjoyed and thank him, he told me to go source for a car I'll like to use for the business then get back to him. Now he's bought the car, and gave me 30k to go make a drivers license, the very day he gave me the money I got a congratulatory message from one of the company I applied to come for offer letter, went there and the offer was 78k to be accepted or rejected before 30th June. On my way home I got a call for an HR job I did an interview with almost two months ago to come for documentation, got there the next day and was offered the job with 104k net.


Now I don't know which and what to DO!!! This one pass me aswerugad. Please Mods help push this to front-page and help me get suggestions please.

First thing first, discuss the job offers with the man that offered to buy you a car for Uber; accord him that respect.

For me, it's a win win for everyone. Since you are most likely going for a career, throw the option of sourcing for someone else (with integrity) who needs a job (like you once did) so he can take up the Uber job (you've taken one job seeker off the street).

On the 2 job offers: not all higher paying jobs are worth it. Look at both offers, weigh in on job security, job satisfaction, probable monthly expenditure, proximity, potentials of the company, and most importantly; career. The difference is 26k but there are jobs you will spend the 26k on the direct/indirect stress that come along with it.

I think it's just an Escrow payment and the fund will be released once the order is fulfilled. Just be sure you didn't create the account illegally. Escrow payment protects the buyer for a specific period of time and litigates the risk of losing your fund to scammers.

I think one of the problems we have in this part of the world is being overly loyal to US. Fine, they are the biggest economy, creates an environment to succeed and have the tendency to control the world market but do you know that sometimes, they survive by bullying, intimidation and media hype. Do you also know China is the fastest growing economy and second only to the same US. Without mincing words, what broke the camel's back is the 5G launch; no supreme power will allow a competitor thrive and US knows whom they are mindful of when the technology game is on course.

Back to your stance. What it takes for an OS to be up and running is the technology, awareness, market, improvement and China has them all; every other attribute is linked to it. China is number 1 in reverse technology and second to none in improving on such prototype. If the war continues, US will win in a short term but with persistence and doggedness, Huawei or Chinese developed OS will become a very strong competitor for android!

Facebook, Whatsapp, Instagram that you mentioned are owned by the same company; Facebook which can go down and lose trust with a hack into their system; difficult but not impossible. Do you know that Facebook is not used in China (illegal) and some other countries, you can't make Whatsapp call in some countries too (UAE used to be one, don't know if the ban is still in place), yet they survive even in the social media circle. Do u also know that Facebook is facing some privacy issues even within it's origin country and some users have stated their discomfort in continuing with their services.

Now go to the game of numbers, out of the world's population of over 7.7 Billion, China takes 1.4b, india takes 1.3b, US takes 400million. By continent, Asia takes 4billion, Africa takes 1billion, North America takes less than 500million, Europe 700 or so.

Wechat boasts of over 1 billion users and Whatsapp is over 2 billion. What would happen if Huawei develops a competitive OS is that China and Chinese companies who are known to form allegiance with their own and also get support from their country is to get alternatives for those popular US developer apps you mentioned (which are already available), market them as in-built apps in their newer phones and encourage users to use them. As a matter of fact, I used Wechat even before I got to know of Whatsapp. And by the time I go to the market to buy a budget friendly phone, only to see all phones within my budget are Chinese phones running Chinese OS, I either increase my budget or won't own a phone but how many people are willing to pay more? It will take time but knowing that they have the market and capacity to compete, they will keep keeping on. If Dike buys a Chinese phone, Dare buys a Chinese phone, Aliyu buys a Chinese phone, they can communicate with the apps in the Chinese phone and Tom who is their friend will be tempted to use the same medium to communicate. Meanwhile, the Igbo man whose suppliers are in China will automatically switch to the Chinese phone to facilitate trade. That's how it expands. think of how Tecno became a force to reckon with in Nigeria

Since variety is the spice of life, Chinese tech companies would offer users alternative means of communication (in that regard) to beef up the competition.

Till tomorrow, Asians and Africans would still buy cheaper Chinese phones more than the expensive US/UK/Euro made phones, hence, more market for China.

A Dutch billionaire, John de Mol, has recently sued Facebook over fraudulent bitcoin ads that showed him next to quotes about how much money he purportedly made investing in BTC with a company that was swindling users.

Reuters reported that De Mol’s lawyer has claimed the businessman, who created the reality show ‘Big Brother’ and is one of the brains behind the Endemol entertainment studio, is suing Facebook over damages to his client’s reputation, and over Facebook’s inability to stop the ads from appearing altogether.

De Mol’s lawyers wants Facebook to automatically block ads featuring him and cryptocurrencies. His lawyer further claimed consumers sent a total of €1.7 million (around $1.9 million) to the scammers, before Facebook reacted to complaints and removed the ads from its platform.

De Mol also wants to get the names of those behind the fraudulent bitcoin ads, so he can hand them over to authorities. Jacqueline Schapp, one of his lawyers, argued that Facebook’s system of reacting to users reporting problems isn’t good enough.

He said: "I don’t know what reality Facebook lives in, but that doesn’t work."

Facebook’s lawyer, Jens van den Brink, revealed the company couldn’t be forced to monitor every ad that goes through it all the time. He also said that it’s “technically impossible” to block ads with De Mol’s name on it, as he is not the only person with such a name.

My director's wife is a kind hearted woman but she is too sensitive and highly inquisitive. I have known her for 5 years, that's when I started working with her husband. I'm very close to my oga and his family.

My oga is a womanizer but his wife hasn't been able to catch him red handed. The woman became so friendly with me since February 2019. she will call me on phone to just say hi, recharge my phone sometimes etc.

I have always been so sceptical about the woman's attitude of recent since I know her as a very inquisitive person.

The bubble bursted in April when I travelled with oga to Kaduna, Kano and Jigawa States for some trainings organised by our department for some cooperative livestock farmers. The wife started calling me while in Kano to ask about her husband, who stays with him in his hotel room, his visitors etc which I said to her I don't really know.

Oga actually brought his secretary which I knew he has been dating with him for the trip but of what concern is that to me? When we returned, the woman actually came to our office where she looked angrily at me, hiss at me and left without answering her greeting.

My job schedule involves sometimes working at oga's house especially when we have urgent training assignments. The woman have been sort of looking at me as someone who is also promiscuous like her hubby. Yesterday, she called me a liar and deceitful person, just because she wanted me to divulge her hubby's itinerary to her. It's possible she think I'm a small boy sha.

I'm actually planning to move some of the equipment in oga's house to mine so that I'll have less contact with the woman but I don't want my oga to know my reasons since I didn't tell him all his wife have been doing so that I don't cause wahala in their home.

Google just shot itself in the leg and this is the beginning of the end. They have just "informed" not only Huawei but the entire China and licensed them to find an alternative.

Apart from China having their indegenous human resources who can effectively handle both written and spoken English, it will only take them an effort to employ less than 100 English scholars even Britons to work as content writers in creating an independent OS. If you have been to China you will better appreciate their prowess. They don't even have to work very hard. They already have Google Android source codes and Templates so they only need to plagiarize and customize to suit whatever they want.

Chinese phone manufacturers have rendered premium western phone makers into oblivion now. Where are the great names in the likes of BlackBerry, Motorola, Ericsson, Siemens, Kyocera, Olivetti, BenQ, Grundig, Nokia to mention but a few.

Even in personal computer where are the great names like IBM, Packard Bell, Acorn, Gateway, Magnavox to mention but a few. Even the great HP and Dell are struggling for survival. Do you know that already China has its own version of FACEBOOK, YOUTUBE, SEARCH ENGINES, MAP, CHAT APPS and other western premium sites and apps. 1. The teacher received a phone call to go get her salary. She did and got the said salary.

2. She was accosted by some men (3 to be specific). An order was given which she refused to carry out. The hoodlums wasted no time in sending her to the world beyond.

I see it as random robbery incident; intimidation gone bad.

I've been a victim of similar circumstance.

Then online transactions were relatively strange in Nigeria, dude had some good pips and was travelling to the East (from Lagos) with us, not knowing some low life men were tracking him. In lightening speed, the first chimp pushed me out of the bus, and while I was struggling not to fall off by bracing on the soffit of the bus roof(just like a conductor), the guy pulled the trigger slightly behind my ear. I actually escaped death by the whiskers. That's when we understood what's going on cos the dude and everyone else scampered for safety. And they accomplished their mission without resistance.
