Dede,

if you want to get a partial truth to soothe and heal Igbo conscience, then fine do that amongst yourselves and do not seek our agreement. However, you are doing it in our view and we would love to stay out of your discussions. . . but, we will not keep silent and not respond if you write stuffs that are untruthful from our point of view. What is true to you maynot be true to us. . . . and what is true to us may not be true to you.

if you want to get a full truth to heal people on both sides, then you must be open to discussions on the total events, not just on Asaba.

I would like to remind you that before and even after Biafra had declared secession. . . .there were Igbo citizens still coming in from West and crossing into Alaigbo through MidWest. Their passage was not blocked, they were not persecuted, no one touched them. The non-igbo midwesterners wanted and desired to remain neutral. . . . Ojukwu was protecting his people from who? From non-igbo midwesterners or from Hausas? When war broke, you should have faced the people that had just spent almost a year since July66 in continous bloodshed of Igbos. Exotic just told you that. Instead Ojukwu went after people that had not shed one single igbo blood and planted flag in their territory telling them they better start learning igbo language if they dont yet know how to speak it. wtf!! angryPersonally to me, the event in Asaba was a reprisal. I dont consoider it a genocide or a crime. . . .it was a reprisal. I will bring another point to your focus.

The Jan 66 ccoup, everytime we talk about it and charge that it's an igbo planned coup. . . .what do you east Igbos say? "oh no, it was not an igbo coup. . .the anioma boys did it". Well, for slaughtering other people that had not done anything wrong dont you think anioma deserved also to have its people killed for the action of the so called "anioma boys"? CAUSE and EFFECT. . .or like Sam said. . . KARMA!!!
What has free passage or even domicile in the mid-western or western region of Nigeria got to do with Asaba massacre and your skewed plank of argument? If Biafra had stood as a nation, the citizens of Biafra and Nigeria would still enjoy free passage to/fro both countries as the citizens of Nigeria and Cameroon or Republic of Benin or Togo or Ghana have mutual interactions and share of domicile.

Biafra not Ojukwu went after Nigeria as the later had commenced military operations against the former. Sometimes I ask God why you allowed me to share nationality with moronic dimwits who can not make simple and clear deductions.
dk, exactly!

Maybe Yoruba should go to UN and solicit white people to review and bring condemnation on Ibo for killing Akintola, Shodeinde, Ademulegun and his wife, . . . and for Ojukwu putting bullets in Ademoyega and Banjo. Maybe we should open posts and give granular details using exagerration to emphasize what did not happen in order to win sentiments and support. Maybe we should call it ethnic cleansing.
You can go to hell if you wish. I guess imbecility has no boundaries. You are a dimwitted dirty rat. Members of Nigerian army killed Akintola, Shodeinde, Ademulegun and his wife. Ojukwu might have signed on for the execution of Banjo for treason but Ademoyega was alive till after the war. Ademoyega even wrote a book about the coups and civil war. Marooned maggots will stop at nothing in order to secure a chip lie.

Dimwitted Col Benjamin Adekunle is not a caliber of seasoned soldier to be mentioned in a sentence with commanders such Shuwa or even Mohammad. All the fighting was done by the brigade commanders while he ran his big putrid mouth. When naval ship could not support his big and empty mouth, his deficiency as a commander shone like northern star in the sky and he was disgracefully yanked as the GOC of 3MCDO and made a Apapa Wharf traffic officer.
I guess persons from a group of inherent cowardice would glorify a junk such Benjamin Adekunle.
Sam,

You are calling for an outright declaration of truth on the Asaba massacre.  I support you on that but are you genuinely calling for a reconciliation truth that supports the entire MidWest on a broad basis or one narrowed to just Asaba and its effect on the Igbo conscience?

You mentioned the law of Karma, with a capital "K".  Translated into the natural phenomenon of dual and opposite forces, Karma will become "Cause and Effect".  Do you disagree?

For every "Effect" at the outcome, there was a "Cause" in the beginning.  The event in Asaba was an "Effect" of something, it would not have happened at all unless something prior in timeline and of similar scale had happened to feed it.  Do you not agree with this?   To discuss the outcome in Asaba, we must discuss the beginning of the narrative and explain why in the first place the Nigerian Army was even in Asaba.  What or who were they looking for and why?

I support your call for truthful revelation, I hope you will support my demand for a broad narrative on the "Cause and Effect" of events in MidWestern State.
This is one of the reasons that made me adamantly believed in disintegration of the cesspit called Nigeria. There is no future for all of us if we can not shove back the ethnic biased tendencies and be real for once. The last time I check though, Asaba was part and parcel of mid-western region. It is clearly that Asaba was not part of eastern region.

The incursion of Biafra into mid-western region was every bit legitimate as mid-western region was bone fide part of Nigeria that had precipitated a war against eastern region. Anybody who thinks otherwise has issues with recollection and ignorantly oblivious with chronicle order of events as they unfolded in 1967 during the debacle between Nigeria and Biafra.

A person really wonders why there was no massacre of Edo or Ishan folks when 2nd division of Nigerian army blazed through Benin City. Asaba was part of mid-western region as were Benin City, Warri and Sapele. The only remarkable difference among these cities was Asaba is Igbo.

It is only moronic dunce or irredeemable dimwit will remotely think mid-western region or western region was an entity belonging to Republic of Dahomey and attack on these territories was a breach of any law Biafra when Nigeria had on June 6 through 26, 1967 sustained military attacks including amphibious raids against eastern region or Biafra.
This question is irrational. I can count at least 2 oxymorons in the question. You seem to have forgotten that war is not a dance party and people get killed in wars. It is basically impossible to paint the picture of death in pleasant colours. Death should never be wished on a fellow human being for no just cause, whether he/she is a member or "your people" or not.

I remind you once more that war is not a dance party. The numbers you are throwing around are probably not accurate and the number of dead during the war has been a bone of contention for a long time. Nigerians have never been able to count living people let alone dead people during the war. How did you arrive at those outrageous numbers? Just so you know, blockade is a legitimate tool of warfare.

If the blockade caused the deaths of thousands of rebels, then the blame lies squarely on incompetent leaders and military strategists on the biafra side. As soon as a blockade was implemented, rebel leaders should have known that they could no longer win the war. The compassionate and smart thing to do thereafter would have been to surrender. Instead of surrendering and saving the lives of hundreds of thousands if not millions, as you put it, the rebel leaders kept fighting and causing the deaths of their own people through starvation etc. In the end these rebel leaders fled. SMH

Nwanne m, It took me a long time to forgive Ojukwu and his military commanders for these unnecessary deaths.
Sometimes your plank of argument is outright ridiculous and has disingenuous written all over it. Starvation in Biafra was instigated by total blockade and reckless Egyptian MIG 21 pilots who tend to fire at anything that moved thereby suffocating subsistent farming system in place. Even feeding centers where the Red Cross and Caritas fed children and the elders, Nigerian government ordered the Egyptian and Australian MIG 21 pilots to fire air-to-surface missiles to the defenseless masses. It is absolute naïveté for any person to insinuate that opposing forces will simply surrender because knuckleheads across the ridge have staged a blanket blockade instead of weapon only.

The argument for Biafran soldiers well fed and citizen gone hungry is lame one at best. Even the citizen contributed to the war effort by donating the little they have to soldiers so that can be able to fight and kill the aggressors who were bent on killing and ra.ping the men and women in Biafra. This is called the support of the war effort. In USA during the WW 2, women had to give up their panty hoses and some other garments used in manufacture of materials needed for war. In Biafra, people gave up the little yam, cocoyam, coconuts, palm kernals, palm oil and women even donated their rapars for amry uniforms.

Of course, blockade is a weapon of war baring humanitarian instances. If you stood up argument against its humanitarian instances, you have no pedigree whatsoever to discuss the massacre in Asaba. I guess the end justifies the means. Personally, I do not have problem with this philosophy.
And yet another IGBO BIAFRA Thread. . .

Fact: Biafra lost the war. No brainer Glad you are man enough to admit this.

Fact: Ojukwu ran away to Ivory Coast by Night. Mor0n!!  In war there is a tactical withdrawal There is a sharp contrast between a dog fleeing with its tail between its leg and a tactical withdrawal. Americans leaving Somalia after two black hawk helicopters were shot down in combat is a tactical withdrawal. Ojukwu running away by night disguised as a woman is called Chickening out/bitching out

Fact: Ojukwu starved Biafrans by giving the Food Aids to the soldiers and not to civilians. This is Fool’s delight. Conjecture at best Well, this has been proven by many Biafran survivors. Your daddy just wont tell you this part of the story because Ojukwu just has to be superman in his tales.

Fact: Black Scorpion killed over a trailer load of Ndi Igbos so he (representing Yorubas) cant be a coward. Black Scorpion was one of loudmouthed junks that fought the war.  He was never in any battles talk less of killing Biafran soldier. In Ubani (Bonny his wife’s home town), 15th brigade under Akinrinade was almost destroyed by Biafran 8th Battalion under Kalu. Akinrinade wounded and was served by the guns of NNS Lokoja under Soroh. Your account of the story is only told by MASSOB agents to their kids. Every other historian all say different.

Fact: The Biafran seccession wasnt an act of self-defense but one borne out of pride, selfishness and greed. Anybody who saw the attack at Gerkam, Obollo Afor and Enugu Ezike would beg to decline. Once more sir, all is fair in war. Hence you should never even start one.

Fact: Ojukwu knew he wasnt prepared for war yet forged ahead and that act led to the death of over 20,000 Ndi Igbos. This is a nonsensical conjuncture borne out of inherent stupidity. Gowon and Nigeria were not prepared for the war talk less a region which was visited with aggression by Nigeria. But then again, Nigeria had the upper hand and Ojukwu knew this as was evidenced in the minutes of the Aburi conference that Nigeria had been stockpiling arms and ammunitions for months and also the fact that the northeners constituted the bulk of the armys junior ranks, plus they had the advantage of foreign allies.

Fact: The Yorubas did the wise thing by not forcing themselves into a war that they knew they could not win. The decision made by the Yoruba in joining in the war with northern region of Nigeria shall live after them. Your response is a thought Biafran apologists use to pacify and put themselves to sleep at night.

Fact: The Igbos might be industrous, but their isnt one Igbo man on the TOP 10 richest Nigerian/Nigerian businesses List. Idiotic mor0n such as you forgot Ndigbo, while fighting a war of survival, Yoruba, Hausa. Kanuri and Fulani usurped the position of the Ndigbo in cesspit called Nigeria. However, Ndigbo are known to have “never say die” attitude.   What war of survival?! Who was after you?!

Fact: Biafran apologists are cry babies that can never be pacified and so should be ignored. You have to ignore Igbo grievances at your peril. Its been ignored since 1970 and aint shi't happened.

Fact: Dede1 is a member of the Igbo Terrorist group BIKO HARAM. No, Dede1 belongs wise Igbo group which intends to see to the disintegration of the jungle called Nigeria. Wishful thinking. If wishes were horses, Biafra would be a stable

Fact: The Pogrom was as a result of the January 1966 Nzeogwu led coup which was widely believed to be an IGBO COUP. Which of the pogroms If I may ask, ponk? There only ever been one. Not all riots up North are Pogroms. Same way you claim when Boko haram bombs a mosque on a Friday, they are targeting Muslim Igbos. . .

Fact: Biafra didnt lose the war because of Awolowo, but because they were outclasses strategically. Of course, Awolowo and strategy were the reasons Biafra lost the war. I shall give half mark for this revelation, junkyard dog. Good boy. Admiting defeat is your first step to healing and reconcilation  cool

Fact: Ojukwu never believed in the Biafran cause enough to die in the pursuit of it, thats why no other militant Igbo group has risen since 1970. Ojukwu believed in Biafra that was the reason behind his tactical withdrawal. Once again, refer to FACT no. 2

Fact: Biafra is old news. Again, Biafra is a enigma. Says Biafran apologists like MASSOB

Fact: The ABURI ACCORD is obsolete in this day and time. Yet the mor0ons all over the jungle called Nigeria are calling on the principles agreed on Aburi, Ghana. I guess by mor0ns, you are refering to MASSOB and other affiliate m0rons like Ohaneze, Bakassi Boys, BZM and Dede1's peoples club

Fact: Igbos never showed Ojukwu the same love they are showing him in death when he was alive. Ndigbo have always shown the love they are showing Oujkwu in death even when he strayed. Remember that Ndigbo are said not have Kings. The love as evidenced in his not getting the peoples vote in 1983, as witnessed by Igwe Nwokedi in London and as testified by his wife Bianca

Fact: Ohaneze, Biafra and Massob abondoned Ojukwu on his death bed in London as testified by Igwe Nwokedi and his wife Bianca Ojukwu nee Onoh. I guess stupidity can not be fixed as evidenced by this statement Is that your defence?!I have always known you to be an orator who can spin garbage to appear like fools gold and thats all you have?!  cry

Fact: I am an Igbo man. You could be an Igbo but first grade efulefu. I recommend a DNA test on you. Blood taken, tested, confirmed and verified by reputable forensic laboratories around the world tha I Okija Juju is a bonafide Anambra man from the tribe of Nri (the ancestral home of all Igbos.) Now bow to royalty, you commoner. .  cool

Fact: Some Biafran douche-bags would insult me for telling them the bitter truth. I guess it takes one useless douche-bag to recognize another. And I recognized you from a distance. . . I could always tell your presence by the smell of decayed biafran feaces.

Fact: I wasnt high when I wrote this. Of course, you were not high but low in intellectual pedigree. Now thats a good one. .  Actually have no response to that. . .

Fact: I'm gonna enjoy the rebuttals. You are not gonna enjoy the rebuttals Wrong again, totally did. . .

Fact: The Igbos are a very hateful ethinic group as is evidenced with the marginalization/subjugation of fellow Igbos in the name of a cast system (OSU's), let alone yorubas, hausas and the middle-belt. I guess you an OSU as evidenced by your self-hatefulness. Erm. . . Even if I was, the worst of the Osu's are still miles better than you biafran Zionists. I have no shame in associating with the Osu's, but I abhor your kind.

Fact: The Igbos did not achieve anything from the Biafran war but the loss of its sons and daughters. At least, history was made as result of Biafra’s first secession attempt. The history books of how not to seceed

Fact: The Ogbunigwe was not a sophisticated "ground-to-air" nor "ground-to-ground" missile, but was a crude weapon no better than a colonial british cannon. At least, the foolishness in you allowed you to have Biafra and British in comparative sentence. What about the jungle known as Nigeria? Erm. . .  Wow!! Okay then. .  Put that on your wall and shut the F up about the freaking shrapnel & gun-powder cannon. .

Fact: The refining of fuel in the bushes during the war was not an extra-ordinary technology as any child who studied separation techniques in secondary school Chemistry class, especially fractional distillation and cracking should be able to do same with a bursen burner and a few flasks and beakers. Remember Nigeria is yet to assemble one such elementary joke. Even the refineries built for Nigeria by foreigner could not be maintained.   Thats thanks to bad governance and not because Biafrans werent employed to work in the refineries. . .

Fact: If the Ojukwu were a wise man, he would have canvassed for democracy before fighting for secession rather than confront a military regime which he knew as was indicated in the minutes of the ABURI CONFERENCE was importing and stockpiling  arms and ammuinition. This is another moronic indulgence borne out of inherent stupidity. Hehe. . . Punched you in the nuts with that one didnt I?!
I shall not want to make you more educated than you have shown. In military parlance, tactical withdrawal is designed to let your opponent/enemy kept wondering what your next line of action will be. It is unfortunate that a directly or indirectly Igbo chap, whose mother would have been ra.ped to death by Nigerian vandals if Ojukwu was confirmed dead at January 10, 1970, has the audacious pedigree to join detractors to denigrate the personality of Ojukwu.

I would like to know the characters of so-called Biafran survivors you referenced in your idiotic drivel that proved Ojukwu starved the civilians. The distribution of foods donated by Red Cross and Charitas was handled by the Reverend fathers and sisters attached to the aforementioned organizations.

You often write like a deluded lapper who has not seen a parade ground in his/her life talk less of being on it. So I should not ask you to elaborate on northerners who constituted the bulk of the army’s junior rank officers.

Definitely, I do not have empathy for you as to indulge in your education. So as a first grade Efulefu, I shall leave you with the little you know about pogrom.

I am at home with the fact Biafra still puzzles and infuses fear in peoples’ minds in all nooks and crannies of the jungle called Nigeria.

Only people who are basically nobody in their kindred will refer to someone who they do not know from any possible depth as a commoner. You could kill if you worth my footprints within my autonomous community, olodo.

You are yet to punch yourself in nuts, punk.
LWKMD. When rebels decided to seceed and occupied federal territories while terrorizing Nigerian citizens who live there, all is well and good according to some people. But when the federal troops engage the rebels in battles in a defensive effort, with superior force, where the rebels use civilians as human shields as they run away like chickens and cowards, the surviving rebels and their children scream massacre.

If you people don't know what war means, don't start one, if you are not prepared for war, don't implicitly declare one, and most importantly, if you observe that losing a war is inevitable, surrender early and save lives instead of fighting to "finish" while your leaders eventually run away in exile.
Recently, you have made me to believe you are a risk to yourself. Have you heard standing up to a bully? The war is more than a month old when Biafrans decided to let Nigeria feel the taste of its aggression. Officers such as Appollo and Wushishi had opened fronts at places such as Garkem, Obollo Afor and Enugu Ezike and amphibious operations had been underway in Ubani (Bonny) before Biafra reacted to these provocations. Yet a person who is deemed to have passed through Zaria has effrontery to indict Biafra as starter of the civil war. Anyway, ethnic bias is really a weighted object when Nigeria/Biafra war is discussed.  You can be forgiven.

Nigerians can deny anything or skew the facts about Nigeria/Biafra civil any way they liked, one thing nobody could change is that Ndigbo and Biafran really gave good account of themselves both in bravery and gallantry. The civil war made it clear as the day that follows the night there is no single ethnic group in Nigeria to singlehandedly venture into a war with Ndigbo and survive to relate the battles.

Those who fought Biafra shall remain in perpetual denial till they journey to their graves. Biafra detractors would come with air-filled balloons trying to establish a nonexistence fact that Biafra massacred Nigerians only to bust at the face of superior evidence to the contrary or their inability to support one iota of such incident.

Biafra's intelligent outfit was able to gather atrocities committed by the Nigerian vandals during the war. The zombies from Nigeria could not sustain intelligence gathering and relied on British who had no interest on that part of the war. It is not a surprise the jokers on Nigeria side believed every innuendos and rumors and set to make them truth.

Even Nowa Omoigui, though bias and arguably the best author who tempted to serialize the events in Nigeria before and during war, has been taken to task to prove an iota where Biafrans committed atrocity during the war, the man drew blank.

The massacre in Asaba was real and perpetrated by the elements of 8th brigade of 2nd Division of Nigerian army commanded by a Yoruba officer named Lt Col Francis Aisida.

Onitsha/Obosi massacre had been placed on the shoulders of Col Murtala Muhammad who at the time of incident was not only the GOC of 2nd Division of Nigerian army but was the direct commander of 4th and 6th brigades.

There was Ogba/Egbama massacre perpetrated by the elements of 15th brigade of 3MCDO of Nigerian army commanded by a Yoruba officer named Major J O Makanajuola.

Biafra attacked Yorubaland because it was part of Nigeria abi?
Also Yoruba men since they were part of Nigeria joined to fight back to protect their land which was still part of Nigeria
First to do no dey pain
Dayolodo the monkey.

Were you thinking Yoruba land was part of Republic of Dahomey, agbaya? There was logical base of fighting back to protect their land against Biafrans when the Yoruba did not muster intestinal fortitude to kick Gowon and Nigerian soldiers from northern region out of the so-called Yoruba land. Yoruba shall remain the enemy of Biafra forever.

I could not, for the life of me, understand why certain grown human beings always think the civil war was between northern region and eastern region of Nigeria. The civil war, as correctly baptized as Nigeria/Biafra, was a war between Nigeria (consisting northern, western and mid-western region) and Biafra (consisting eastern region).

This ninny should have posited the same question to numerous states from northwest and northeast geopolitical zones in the cesspit called Nigeria. There are, at least, five (5) states in the combined geopolitical zones that can not meet the requirements to be granted the status of municipality talk less a state.

Baring none, Nigerians are bunch of moronic dimwits. You can not be a friend of democracy if you kick against any form of equality and justice within an entity where democracy is a mainstay of government.

It is completely unacceptable even to a fo.ol that certain geopolitical zones in Nigeria have 7 states while other has 5 states. Yet the state is the common denominator upon which revenue allocation formula is based. Even the decision at National Assembly is swayed by the number of senators from a certain zone that has more senators in number than another zone.

Governor’s choice of phrase maybe wrong but the message he intended to deliver is absolutely in order.
After reading half of this I felt the need to intervine. Onlytruth, I respect and adore what you say. Dede1, Ezachi, etc, Una have good points as well. This is a very good argument and una have every right to suspect this new change of heart from the minorities especially Ezachi (I read you are one of Biafran veteran, I now have nothing but alot of respect for you. Thank you for fighting for Igbo children's future) but

What are una doing? SS minorities have done umu Igbo wrong lots of times, they have betrayed us no deny that but if a group of people ask for forgiveness give it to them. Don't hold on grudges because all I'm seeing from reading this some umu Igbo creating enemies for themselves. We aren't clean you know. We've done them wrong as well. Haba. If we analyze this one by one and we extend una logic, then the creation of Igboland republic will not work either. why? every Igbo communities has betrayed another igbo community one way or another either political, economical, geographical, etc. If una can forgive eachother, why can't una extend that same forgiveness to others.

Also, a delta igbo or a Rivers Igbo will not leave his or her homeland, his or her family heritage to go to SE Nigeria in the process of an all Igbo country. If we push the minorities out and have them create the republic of Niger-delta as una wish for them, they would not let go of any region in Delta or Rivers even if it belongs to Igbos thus either way another Biafran War will surface. It will not work. We can leave together economically but differ politically if una are that scared of uniting with them. We can just copy the politically interaction of USA, Puerto Rico and United States Virgin Islands. Shikena.
It is this type of ludicrous conjecture that people such as Ezachi, Obiagu1 and Dede1 are laboring very hard to dismiss. There is nothing such as Delta Igbo or Rivers Igbo or Enugu Igbo or Abia Igbo or Anamabra Igbo or Ebony Igbo or Imo Igbo or SE Igbo. Igbo land stretches from or beyond Obollo Afor/Eungu Ezike/Gerkam to Igwe Ocha/Igwe Nga/Ubani and from or beyond Abaomega to Agbo.

It is very childish to insinuate any Igbo person has to leave his or her village or local heritage to migrate to another place in order to be accepted as an Igbo.

Bros, the bolded is the most laughable thing I've read from you so far! hehehe! grin grin grin

I am not cast in the mold of the two men you mentioned, and I will explain how.
If I was Zik for instance, Western Cameroon would still be in Nigeria today. I don't care many times folks tell me that he had no choice than to let them go. I would have done everything to keep them in Eastern Nigeria. As you should know by now, I don't cede territories just for pride or sentimental reasons. Ernest Endelley would have been the Premier of Eastern Nigeria, and I would have aligned with Awolowo to gain independence in 1957.

As for Ironsi, where do I even start. I won't say much about him (because his role was military), but I would not be toppled by anybody. cool
The military is by far the easier horse to ride than politics and people. Suffice it to say that the counter-coup would never even happen at all, talkless of it failing. Ironsi never understood the power he had. Unfortunately for him, second lieutenants understood them more than him.
Sad.
If I can remember correctly, western Cameroon alone did not constitute entire Southern British Cameroon. You can take the horse to the stream but you can not force the horse to drink. In 1951, Emmanuel Mbela Lifafa Endeley was elected into the eastern Nigerian regional house of assembly and was made regional minister. However, he championed the course to grant regional autonomy to Southern British Cameroon. By 1953, Endeley decamped from NCNC to form KNC (Kamerun National Caongress).

It must be recalled that Endeley had strong local competition from the likes of John Foncha, Augustin Jua and Solomon Muna. These individuals were interested in achieving regional autonomy for Southern British Cameroon and possibly sovereign nation wished to be known as Republic of Southern Cameroon or Republic of Ambazonia. In 1953, Endeley was elected into Southern British Cameroon Regional Assembly and four years later in 1957 was elected the first Premier of Southern British Cameroon Region. The political ember these gentlemen started in order to achieve independence for Southern Cameroon is still burning as I write.

My grandfather said it is a waste of time and material trying to curry a favor from a woman who had decided to leave you. Good to hear you were not cast in the mold of the two men (Zik and Ironsi). However, I must warn it is very dangerous to leave the cockpit of your plane in the hands of another captain. If the debacle at Ore did not teach any Igbo person a lesson, I wonder what could teach such person a lesson.

Onlytruth:
I'm happy that you at least acknowledge the facts of history and stated them as they are.
What is unfair and even self defeating, is to talk about Biafran war and secession effort as a purely Igbo affair. It wasn't. The same applies to how we tend to present Ojukwu (though I blame that partly on his post war roles) as Igbo leader. Fact is that he was the BIAFRAN/Eastern Nigerian leader. I remember an Igbo song "Ojukwu bu eze Biafra" which praised his exploits during the war.

When we had our memorial service here in the US for Ojukwu, every state of the former Eastern region(plus Anioma) PAID to sponsor it. One of the non-Igbo ones (Akwa Ibom) even paid the highest amount.
That is the reality of Biafra. Republic of Igboland has never existed; Biafra did. So, I am very determined not to skew history and facts of our secession "agenda" in Nigeria.
For me, Eastern Nigeria remains one until someone opts out.
If the Fulani who don't even marry Hausa women except very rich and powerful Hausa families can still keep the North one, I believe that we Igbo can keep the East one. I would consider it a failure if we don't do that. We cannot, and should NEVER accept a divided Eastern Nigeria because it would be strategically dangerous to our survival.

So, we keep the East united, BY ALL MEANS NECESSARY. cool
Bros, Onlytruth, come on; you are the person who has adamantly skewed the Biafran effort as Igbo affair/thing alone by stating in prints that “Ndigbo did not carry minorities along”. As a contrarian to that stream of thought, I have maintained that minorities were in the forefront of Biafran issues and had numerated important and authoritative positions held by minorities in Biafra including christening the country. It must be recalled among the best brigade commanders of Biafran armed forces were Ibibio, Annang and Kalabari peeps.

Till today, majority of people from Ibibio, Annang and Ogoni had rather shut their mouths about Biafra/Nigeria war than play biblical Peter who denied Jesus when the chips were down. If the so-called people of Ikwerre, who could pass as Igbo, denied being Igbo since the end of Nigeria/Biafra civil war, I had rather share a nationality with Ibibio, Annang or Ogani than Ikwerre.

I have no problem in keeping the east united instance of disintegration of Nigeria if every player understands what it takes to keep east united. However, I intend to obey the first law of nature which is self-preservation hence pursuit of Republic of Igbo land. I shall vehemently refuse to play either Zik or Ironsi. smiley smiley

Like I wrote in my pervious post to acknowledge historical facts, I reiterated that Nigeria/Biafra civil war is the amalgam of my political philosophy.

Most of the people who have responded to OP have displayed the typical Nigerian attitude of attacking the messenger in a bid to kill the message. It is even funnier when Nigerians attempt to inject the sense of democracy into argument to support the pranks they claim to be democracy in their country.

Whether the poster is an English man or a stakeholder in Webster dictionary, he or she has just reiterated what many of us believed that the idea of One-Nigeria is a misguided approach and big farce.

It is good to known that a supposedly Muslim and from northern region of Nigeria is saying that the idea of One-Nigeria is a mockery.
