Lets look at things both ways...not every resident was happy about the road being blocked...every citizen has a right to move freely, at the announcement of the curfew via a legitimate authority, the protesters should have cleared. Though i blame the govt for sending the military to clear them, there are other means of clearing protests legitimately...there are disputes about the death toll, i live around the area, i have first hand info...awon blogger blogger grin

Everyone must reason together, or we perishas fools...let us not forget what the protest was about. Every society has a police force to stand in the balance, for business and society to thrive. We protested for police reforms, not for banishment of police, every sane person knows there are different types of people in a society, chaos will only favor those involved in the business of war and looting. We must calm down, we can only get what we want via constitutional means. Let us push for constitutional reforms, via legitimate means, the other way will only benefit a few...

The officers too have relations, they are Nigerians, the issue was about SARS and police reforms, it is dumb hijacking a court and beating up the staff there, they are not SARS.

Dont mention me spewing nonsense, i did not come online to respond to nonsense...are the police not still in service?...So Police can not protect themselves and their stations...its shameful. They are still being paid salaries, they need to do their job and clear the streets off hoodlums. Peaceful protesters said end sars, not end police, think before you talk. There are clear rules of engagement, no sane legitimate citizen will burn a police station and steal rifles/release prisoners, in this scenerio the police have every right to shoot to kill, no one will blame police for protecting their station.

We don't really need to rebuild the country — we just need to rebuild the law and the country will rebuild itself. You oldies of 60+ who are benefiting from the rotten system want things to be stagnant because you're on payroll.

Every single soul, be you an elite or not, obeying the law is what we lack. With that in place, everything will be easy.

Where there is conflict and it gets resolved, laws after it get obeyed to avoid more conflicts. Shying away from conflict every time is not wisdom.

Some things need to be handled squarely or even violently before people will listen or rules obeyed.

The peace I enjoy in the part of Rivers state I'm from is because of 2015/2017 violence and the new laws that were set. I can now walk around on the street at night with my phone without fear anymore unlike before the violence.

Civil war is different from pockets of gang violence, i pray you witness civil war, to see the difference.

What is the end game of burning stations and killing officers, is this what the protests is all about...how did you confirm the officer killed 11 people...it is always both ways, those officers being killed and shops being looted are Nigerians with families and people too, if everyone starts carrying out vandetta, burning every building and shop...is that what you want?

You can not expect not to be shot when approaching to burn a police station, invade a residential estate to rob and kill supposed rich...these are acts of criminality, parents and people should warn family members...you can not expect to be robbing causing mayhem, without being shot. There must be an end game, some of us are objective, we can not foolishly support mayhem being prepretrated by hoodlums and criminals, hoodlums and criminals have no income source, they stir up trouble to loot and rob...this is the only way they eat.

Its really sad, some Nigerian youths are not objective at all, it was about end sars, why are police being killed and hunted, it is simply criminals carrying out vandetta and reprisals, like i said earlier, if the police do not wake up to its duty, people will gang up and bear arms to kill these hoodlums, then it will spiral out of control into a civil war, and most online chest beaters have never been in a gunfight before, talk more of a full blown war.

To scare them away,they are already constituting nuisance in the society and the protest is already loosing it course..SARS has been dissolved and disbanded, they are suppose to halt the protest and allow the government fulfill their demands, if the government don't, then they can return with full force like Aisha yusefu had said.

They should change the hashtag to #Endbadgovernance if they don't want to stop the protest.
Government can not stand and watch hoodlums to continue burning police stations and government infrastructures and then do nothing about it.
If it escalates they will have no choice than to give the SWAT(SARS with another title) police another uniform to start fighting the hoodlums and harassing the protesters.
The UN is aware of the developments and the government is clear on their demands,the protest should stop for now, if truly there are no other motives behind the none-stop protest.

I think it was exxagerated a bit, the officers were shooting in the air...though their prescence was uncalled for. Till now no conclusion on casualty. The press must be careful, not to incite people to chaos, i know news is your business, but please do not turn Nigeria to Libya cos you need more views.

This protest was about bad governance and police brutality, and overall hardship...It is shameful to see criminal youths breaking all the shops and looting, stealing and killing, these hoodlums have killed quite a number, and inflicted injuries and losses to businesses worth billions.

Why did the Nigerian security apparatus abdicate its duty, the curfew was to differentiate criminals from legitimate Nigerians, so why tolerate mob of criminals with cutlass, sticks and local guns to operate freely?

Where are the police crack team to deal with this criminality?...the police officers are still collecting salaries, or are they scared?

Nigerian citizens are being harrassed and intimidated by these hooligans, their businesses are being destroyed, security operatives should take control of the state, otherwise they will be reprisal attacks, all it takes is a few AK rifles to disperse these fools. The protests has ended, those online chest beaters who stay inside supporting mayhem only know when violence starts no one knows when and how it ends, if there is total breakdown of law and order,i hope you have a gun, cos a criminal has no friend, he will prey on any opportuinity, once their money and funds are low, they will come rob you.
