Most Nigerian women do this, they only marry cos they feel they need you to support them, once the table turns, you see the Jezebel in them...that is why men chase money nowadays, and only marry when established. No money no respect from Nigerian women, they dont like sex, they dont love, they just marry for convenience. |

willyjacs: U said Diabetes kill more abi? well, coro is just 5months old nd over 300k people are dead..despite trying to control it. imagine if everyone is let loose nd people start living like its nothing.... u know how many people go die?
we are over 7billion people, over 4million are infected plus over 300k deaths.... Imagine when 5billion people get infected.... it fatality rate is low doesn't mean when more people get infected, death toll won't jump.
Easing the economy is good for us but how do our own people respond to the self safety guidelines?
u see how people comply to this safety directives in these countries.... but enter naija nd see how people behave like goats.... They are complaining that the west, east nd south are mostly not obeying these rules....but come here in the north nd see rubbish.
no hand or self hygiene,no social distancing compliance.
Lock down is not for us...at same time, easing lock down is not for us too.
Stay safe. Less than 300k worldwide since december 2019 is still a small number, most of the cases are in Europe and America, Africa has less than 20% off the worldwide death rate, let us look at things in perspective...300k dead in 6 month, means at most 600k in a year, still a far cry from 55million that meet their demise each year normally, people are always exiting and entering the world, this Corona is a big media hysteria, bad news is big business, it is not as sordid as we make it seem, soon our immune systems will adapt, vaccines and medicines will be developed to deal with it. please lets focus on solutions and stop spreading fear senselessly. Lagosians are smart people, not goats, government only need to apply more enforcements. The numbers you quote are dumb, only less than 10% of infected people die, and your assumption of 5billion being infected is far fetched, and illogical talk, let us talk like sensible people, not market women, you said a lot of nonsense without proffering a reasonable way forward, thank God Nigeria is not filled with prophet of doom and myopic people like you...noone said people should be careless, of course everyone should wear face masks, adhere to social distancing and stay home if you don't need or have to go out, if you or some are goats and cant comprehend these safety measures, then stay home, or die well. |

willyjacs: Lock down helps in controlling the spread.... if lock down weren't imposed on Italy,France or Spain, their death toll would have been 4x.....Lock down helps flatten the curve after peaking.... They did massive testing during the lock down,it enabled contact tracing nd fishing out infected persons, since if u don't move, the virus doesn't move..... now they are easing lock down after months of sacrifice.
Germany got it under control, they eased lock down, new infections rose again.... Same with Ghana.
without lock down, the numbers u are seeing in naija now will be 3x this.
How rapid the virus spreads means a lot of people can contract it within a short period...without lock down to calm the speed of the spread, the whole country can get infected over a short period of time.
I followed America from the onset... if early lock down measures were taken, the fatalities wouldn't have been this much.....
even during the 1918 Spanish flu virus pandemic... lock down slowed its effects.... but the biggest fatalities nd infections occurred when governments eased lock down.
May God help us. Do you know 55million people die yearly normally from diabetes, obesity, violence, poverty, natural deaths and other causes normally? Do you know how long Coro will be with us,lockdown is not sustainable, we are a poor country, government is begging and borrowing up and down, are you not thinking of the death and deprivation that 80% of the population will be subjected to in further lockdown? Coro kills less than 10% of those infected, some people immune can resist it, just like we are living with HIV anc co, soon Coro will be like that, our lives can not stop because of one virus. Lockdown for Lagos is a lazy approach, and not proportionate to the present threat. Lockdown does more harm than good in Lagos., time for lockdown has passed, the world is moving on with research, and management of the virus and the patients, lockdown is not sustainable, hence its good we learn to live with Coro now, while we look for ways to beat it. |

Farki: I said chances of survival after requiring ventilation is 50/50 read properly before you criticise someone.
If more people die from suicide than terrorism does that mean terrorism isn't a problem? Does that mean we should blow up our building while trying to catch a thief...our response should be proportionate, we are acting like its only Coro that kills, lot of things kill a man, living a good life with good nutrition is key, this lockdown causes mass hunger, it destroys more than Coro...anybody that is careless has themselves to blame, that is why we are humans, it means we can think, be reasonable and prevent ourselves from harm if we can...i repeat the hypocrisy is annoying, the government dont care if the people die from hunger, depression, violence etc, as long as its not from Coro, i say they are playing to the gallery. Lets look at the big picture and the numbers, 90% of those infected survives, and everyone can protect themselves via mask and social distancing, why destroy a whole nation cause of a careless few? Those afraid to come out, or who can not wear mask stay inside, those who have no job to do and like watching tv all day, please stay inside, so the industrious ones drive the economy. |

Farki: You would be surprised that my work is to deal with malnourished children, but we have to put things into perspective here. If someone has diabetes it can be managed, they can't spread it to others and it takes a long time to die from it without management.
With Covid-19 you have about a month or so to live or die if it gets bad, even with the best hospitals the chances of survival after requiring ventilation is 50/50.
If it was Boko Haram killing people on the streets no one would dare to step outside, yet because the killer can't be seen it is not given the appropriate respect.
I just hope the cure/vaccine comes out soon because I never trust people to listen to directives. Get your facts right, stop lying here, about 90% of infected Covid patients survive, you people should stop using false information as basis of your conclusions on here...do you know that depression, anxiety, hunger kills more...talk with sense, many things kill a man and most arise from hunger and malnutrition, boost your immune system, or stay indoors if you cant wear mask. Think about you and your family. |

Like I said we have choices, lockdown or open up, just don't whine when people die.
Whether I care or not it won't affect the outcome. People die everyday, we are hypocrites...so many are killed daily by bandits, malaria, diabetes etc...how many hungry kids have you fed recently...we dont care if others die, stop the pretence, the economy affects us all and lockdown destroys us more. |

Farki: Countries that have managed to control the spread with people who are actually following the guidelines. Even at that only very few business are allowed to open. Are you comparing a well organised society to Lagos where anything goes?
My work requires me to be in contact with possibly infected people throughout the day, so please could you not be an ass and try to actually understand the situation. Save your remarks for people on the streets flouting the rules, it's not me that's going to restart the lockdown but them. Shut up and speak for yourself, if you have a business you wont clamour for lockdown...am sure you dont stay in Lagos. Selfish Nigerians acting caring, nonsense. |

idtwo: "The economy my foot"---- you said. You seem NOT to be aware of how hard life is for many Nigerians. Which govt will revive your personal economy when it goes under? Which govt will pay your bills, cater for your loved ones and put food on your table? Which govt? Yet you said govt will revive the economy? The economy that matters most when the chips are down is your own personal economy. The Lockdown is NOT a solution, it is taking away people's livelihood, ruining lives and making other equally important & serious health challenges to be ignored. Isn't it clear with what we have seen after the last one, that lockdown is NOT a solution for our own situation.
[ You also talk about the economy! Awww what a kind way to show how much you love the economy, ECONOMY MY FOOT! T The economy u love so much is being manhandled by the ruling elits who plunder and loot from the proceeds of the economy, while the poor man on the street is left to die!
My parting words to you seun DO NOT WORRY SO MUCH ABOUT THE ECONOMY BECAUSE WHEN THE ECONOMY GOES DOWN , GOVERNMENT KNOWS HOW TO REVIVE THE ECONOMY worry about your own life. |

Farki: Like I said if you fall victim don't complain. Most of the leading causes of death in both Africa and the West are preventable and treatable.
COVID-19 is also preventable but we are fighting the same preventive measures. It's like someone insisting that they should drink from a gutter regardless of if they get cholera.
Countries more advanced than Nigeria tried to downplay the issue and now they have changed their tone after realising how serious it was. It's now the same Nigeria that you complain about 24/7 that you expect to be fine. stop talking nonsense, countries are opening up for business...stop acting like you care for others, protect yourself or stay inside. |

Farki: Why the insults, are you really so bad at getting your point across like a reasonable adult?
I am simply explaining a reality you are trying to ignore, most of the people on the streets aren't following these rules, your insults won't change that.
If you fall victim don't complain, don't cry to the government don't cry to God, that's all I will say. Oga care for yourself and your family, as usual...i hate hypocrisy...you people must think before you talk, the only thing we do in Lagos is to hustle...who will feed you, pay the rent,Corona does not kill everyone it infects, but you guys want to destroy everyone with lockdown. no one cares for anyone,we must stop acting like we care...Sanwo Olu should think well. The media is presenting a mole hill as a mountain to you. Farki: Rent will pass, coffins are permanent. Since Nigerians have refused to obey the conditions for easing the lockdown we have 2 options;
- open the state completely and accept that many people are going to die.
- lockdown until a vaccine or cure is found or the disease stops spreading.
If we could simply obey then we wouldn't have to make the above choices. If we choose number one nobody who falls victim should complain. stay inside your house, if you jobless people stay inside the crowd outside will reduce...if you idiots can not use mask and abide by social distancing...why do you care if others die? Protect yourself, we are 200million people, Coro can not kill up to even 4million, you know how many people die everyday, normally? |

wristbangle: This is Nigeria where motorists, people, market places, etc have thrown caution to the wind. Are you not in Lagos to see how people disregard simple instruction to wear nose mask and observe social distancing?
I don't like the lockdown idea but if it is to correct the stubbornness of people, Lagos should enforce it with immediate effect. continue lockdown for how long...you think coro will disapear soon? Economic depression will kill more people |

- People crowding a car boot to receive whatever was inside - people pulling down facemasks and fighting - crowded streets and markets. -some were not even wearing any face mask. - people continuing to touch their faces
Anyone who says that we will follow any science based rules is deceiving themselves. Some don't even think this is real and see no need to protect themselves. In the rush to save the economy we might end up making it worse by killing a lot of people and keeping Nigeria locked down while other countries open up. Coro will be with us for a long time, is this how we will continue the lockdown, even for a year...you people should think...who will pay your rent? |

I met a girl in my street in town she said we are just meeting and cant give me her number so second day I met her and waited for three hours she said she is busy let her go get something I waited I stood she didnt let me enter her house. I stood outside till she go to the street market and come back for hours later she said she couldn't give me. Secondly I met another girl I liked talked to her ask for her phone number she said we're just meeting for the first time and cant give me her phone number could u believe she pass that same street again i met again and ask for the phone number she said if we meet another day. I was like so i should be waiting here till i meet u another day you're plainly telling me i dont have anything to do with my life. When I added her on Facebook I just told her no sensible man will begin to stand in the road like an assassin waiting for another day to ask for your number dont he have work. She was like dont know. I didn't ask of the number again till today other things dey my brain. And this was a girl I loved at first sight. Some girls will say they dont give strangers their number forgetting every friend today was once a stranger. Some of my friend laughed at me. Telling a man to meet u another day to ask for the number again is telling him he doesn't have anything to do with life. Which busy man will mount street waiting for u to pass again.
