Each week one guest will just appear from nowhere and start educating people.
So it was only last week that Lagos state woke and realized Uber have been operating without license?
There will always be justification for any government Yeye move, the only thing I know is they feel they are not getting as much as they are supposed to or feel Uber drivers are just working and making money without returning anything to the state.
No more okada and maruwa guys in most places so that means dwindling revenue they now been their satellite on Uber guys.

u share ride for cash, isnt what taxi business is all about

before the app, there was telephone and your smartphone, people order call taxi by calling taxis through their telephone and smart phone, the app is just the replacement of the telephone or calling by smartphone, the business is taxi business.

so operating a taxi business with an app doesnt make it another thing, it is still a taxi business

so what are taxi people doing, even though they are rough, arent they ride sharing
Why don't you drop the matter from your head and let us handle our thing as we like, you seem to hate uber so much, is your husband a yellow cab driver grin

Evening house, trust our hustle paid off today ?
I want to narrate the ordeal i went through yesterday in the hand of an Old Baga who faked a transfer of 3100 naira .
Here's the story : I took this Jigolo from 17 Balarabe Musa, Vi to Oworo on a 1.5X Bolt surge at 10am yesterday . When we got to his street, he pretended to be nice by asking me to end the trip because the road that leads to his place is not motorable. I did and he asked if he could do a bank transfer, usually i don't grant that request but because we had good conversations all through the journey and he looked like a well to do elderly man, i obliged.
Called out my account details and he read out my name ,after which i saw saw transaction successful on his phone screen . He thanked me and we bid ourselves bye bye.
Long story short , this unfortunate slowpoke faked the transfer and all my efforts to get my money has been abortive.
Please guys, help me launch an attack on his phone number 09057031333.

Nothing gives me immense joy like the ban of worthless Keke, Gokada, Opay and all hopeless Okadas on Lagos roads. I was around Ogba today and I saw task force packing hundreds of keke. I was so happy.

This means with the ban of Gokada, Opay and other hopeless ehailers, more money for Uber and Bolt drivers. This also implies more free and sane roads all over Lagos so that you will complete more trips on time.

It is my warmest prayers to God to make the governor to start burning there keke and Okada. I careless. Zero Pity at all.

When Keke, Gokada, Opay and hopeless wheel barrow pushers where busy causing traffic, hitting other road users with reckless abandon, scratching cars with no pity, taking one ways, creating multiple lanes that cause untold traffic, disobeying every traffic law... Did they pity anybody? They didnt know others were seeking bread for there family too like them abi?

Now as they have been banned with full effect from February 1st, I pray the governor be ruthless and savage on them. No pity at all.

If they want, let hunger kill them and there family... I careless. Infact, let them pack out of lagos because they are hopelessly useless and wicked. They were a pain in the neck of other road users without recourse to how they felt. If am the governor, once they seize your keke or okada... Burning straight.

More Trips for Uber Bolt drivers, More money for them and there family. Death to all reckless Danfo, Keke, Okada, Opay, Gokada etc that have ever endangered the live of any person in Lagos either by driving one way or stopping suddenly in the middle of the road to pick a rider for a hopeless 50 Naira.

God bless disciplined drivers and God bless Sanwo Olu too for filling all potholes in Lagos major roads.

Thunder fire every reckeless Danfo, Okada and Keke in Lagos. May hunger and disease kill all of them. Amen.

USELESS THINGS.
huh

This is exactly why Nigeria might not work. Granted that the Lastma officer shouldn't have attempted to forcefully gain entry into your vehicle, you equally failed to acknowledge that you deserve a fine or at least a speeding ticket for violating a traffic law.

Obeying the rule of law is what makes the society sane.

God bless our hustle.

If bolt doesnt add a cancellation fee anytime soon, then drivers will constantly start cursing out these fake requests that come and you call they tell you where they are, you get there they dont pick up the phone again. No courtesy whatsoever. Bolt has already been able to take alot of uber customers because they dont have a cancellation fee which makes no sense.
They're still better than ocar, how can rider cancel request after I got to pick up location and you tell me I've been given cancellation fee of N20. I was like WTF will I do with that

I want to believe everybody loves and want that, but in the absent of that, we just have to face reality on ground. We r talking about cases where they r low riders due to inability to afford the price. Do you remember we once have taxify and taxify lite with low fare? Do you know how taxify drivers beg to join lite? Its so frustrating to take children to sch on short trip in d morning #500, luckily! you get another 1800 trip and you have to wait under burning sun till 2pm for another trip. What profit means to me presently, is if I can use 3k fuel to gross 13 - 15k daily, then I'm filled. Giving to what is obtainable with the numbers of car, if you want them to go back to the good ole days of where 3 trips can land u 10k, drivers may not do a trip in 2 days. I remember my beginning days, I'll set destination trip and stay on the bed, sometimes deep asleep and request will wake me maybe after 3hrs to get my ever sweet trip, then I'm indoor and wasn't intense or uncomfortable... Believe me, I pity for drivers, when I park to do stuffs and come back to meet them on same spot using dia phone as only tool to fight boredom, just as I pity for dose lone policeman standing on 3rd mainland bridge (No tot on earth dat won't pass thro one mind at such given point in time).
When we had taxify and lite, riders went for lite because they had a choice. They were asked to pay more for the same comfort in the same car (Corolla/camry 03 and 05 don't differ much). If there was no lite option believe me there wld be requests as usual on taxify. Before the era of ehailing, yellow cabs were charging exorbitantly and they were cashing out daily.

So, I think I should post this for all to learn from it. After doing offline to Ibadan last week and elders in the house agreed the fare was OK, I decided to chat up another rider over the weekend and let her know that I do offline even out of the state. From our discussion, she said I had picked her up before and she like my driving . Unknowingly to me, her husband was looking for someone to take him to IFo in Ogun State today. I quickly jumped into it. Was told I would take him and his colleagues there wait for them prolly for the whole day and bring them back.

Long story short, I charged 40k,used 3k to buy fuel again, on Coro 009. Picked him around 7 am from Osapa London and dropped him back at VI. Luckily for me they didn't even wait for up to 2hrs in IFo.

We re back in Lagos already. Local man is happy. grin

Not bad if we see a potential rider and let them know that we do offline. But be cautious sha o. Shine ya eye!
40k. Cool cool

Its better for rider to b available, then for drivers to b sleeping for 2/3hrs without ride. I know some sch of tot will disagree with me, but it is what it is a d remember availability of riders somewhat means surge.
Well.. I prefer doing just 3 trips in a day and make around 10k to doing 10 trips to make roughly the same amount.
My point. Plenty riders + low fare doesn't significantly increase your PROFIT, it only increases your stress level and car maintenance costs. My opinion

Not really talking about a plan to get trips.

If he loses a tyre on a weekend, how does he recover? Two days is to small to save up for this job.

The car is a machine, remember?
Ofcourse his salary will take a hit grin
Remember he will still be making money on weekdays from destination trips. Risks are meant to be taken, if I were him I would take this risk with both hands

You know a HP driver that will stay away for weeks (Monday to Sunday) driving just to pay his installment and save for his family and vehicle expenses, and you are saying a newbie can achieve that in 2 days?

The right amount of motivation and a clear plan is needed. The plan here, is not clear grin
Plans and strategies are overrated in this job. Weekends you don't need to wake up early or position anywhere. Just go online wherever you are, people are moving upandan everywhere. It's good to plan though but you can still survive without it wink

Please I have an urgent and emergency situation.

My sister said her boss wants to help her travel abroad (Kazakhstan), was hoping to meet them here in Abuja to check on her documents myself and also verify things, but she told me at the last minute on my way to airport that they were not able to get a flight to Abuja, so they will travel from Lagos.

Now I smell something fishy and wish to either stop her from travelling or get a tangible information of her flight itinerary and information of the person travelling with her.

Have placed calls to contacts I have at Lagos, no one is close to both local and international airport.

Please I cry out to you guys, how can you help me out. Who has any contact at International airport who can help me ascertain some vital information from her and her boss who is traveling with her. My head is going bonkers right now.

Please it's urgent as their flight to Kazakhstan is ur within 7 and 8, emirates. She doesn't even know all the information but is keen on going, even after I told her on phone not to go.
Just try and get the boss' full name, also call your sister and speak to the boss. Knowing there's someone monitoring her whereabouts should discourage him to an extent from evil plans if he has any. That's the best I can think of in such a short notice. It's better than doing nothing

That guy works from Monday to Friday already. Then he drives Saturday and Sunday to make 30k. What will he even save for maintenance and family expenses if he eventually achieves the 30k every weekend?(Remember that the 30k na remittance oh lipsrsealed)

Even HP drivers that drive weekdays still have unfavourable weeks and they supplement their payments with savings. Which saving this brother wan get?

I think he should just forget the idea. He will wear out fast. Unless, he's a robot sha grin
Remittance is 25k
He can use his salary to settle the debt monthly and run his family from whatever he makes from ehailing every weekend, then fuel the car from destination trips to and fro his office on weekdays. It will only take 10 months to settle the loan. Sometimes it's good to take calculated risks
