Your take is very misguided and you are also deeply misinformed. Aside from the fact that there have been significant contributions in science by black people, the truth nonetheless remains that various factors contribute to the development of civilization, not the least of which are climatic and geographic factors. Also at various points in history you will find that even peoples who are advanced today (e.g: the Brits and Germans) were once very very backward in the face of far more advanced foreigners. When Romans went to Britainnia and Germania, they met nothing but what would be called barbarians. Illiterate and living in small backward villages. This is long AFTER Egypt had already been long gone as a civilization. So there is an ebb and flow to this thing and its not as simple as saying "white men are intelligent and black men are dumb."

It is contestable to say that Japan was never colonized because the USA held control over Japan for a time after WW2.

AS for the USA itself, it is also contestable to say that it was colonized because what really happened was simply a question of the British in the Americas standing up against the British in the European homeland. One cannot really say that pre-independence America was being colonized in the way that other peoples were colonized, because you are speaking of principally the same people.

Likewise there are problems saying that Australia or Canada were colonized. Australia for example was set up as a far off exile settlement for convicts. British convicts. That's not quite colonialism - even though of course as was done to Native Americans in North America, the Aborigenes were decimated and pushed deep into small enclaves.

You must understand that past military juntas relied on consent to remain in power and always justified seizing power from fellow military juntas on the basis of lack of popularity of the ousted regime among the people.

There's no way we can have anything dictatorship today because that will require tearing up the constitution and drawing up Admiralty laws that are alien to civilian life.

Any coup will not only be disastrous to Nigeria's continued existence but to those who ochestrted it.

The guys in the military today are a total different breed from the cocaine sniffing rambo types of times gone.

The officers today just want to serve and cashout bigly and retire to politics or their businesses.

Why should they risk all that for a doomed coup that if successful will doom them?

This is why good and humane government is important. With government being pitiless and draconian, people are more likely to welcome such.
