Honestly you people need help. Do you understand that Surulere is five times bigger than St. Lucia in terms of population alone? |

lexy2014: which more friends?
saint lucia has 179,000 people.
which more friends are you referring to?
if tinubu did not go there, would you have known that a country like that existed? Compare that to the population of Surulere. ----------> As of a 2022 projection, the population of Surulere, a Local Government Area in Lagos State, Nigeria, is 744,400. It's important to note that official census data for Nigeria can be older, with the last comprehensive census being in 2006, which recorded Surulere's population as 502,865 or 503,975 depending on the source. The higher figure is a projection based on growth rates since then. ----------------- Culled. |

SmartyPants: Where did I say it shows so? I said the email supports it without being conclusive. It supports it in the sense that we can infer that there is clearly a relationship between the two men where Omokri has supported Obi in some way. That gives credence Ona preliminary basis, to the idea that Obi could have asked Reno for help.
And it is inconclusive, as I clearly said, because the email doesn't show that Obi asked for help with this particular desire to be made VP candidate.
On the balance of probabilities, I conclude Reno's story liklier to be true. No. Reno made out that he was begged and harassed by PO for help in getting the nomination. On the face of it, every one should know that is both absurd and impossible. And the email he released does not in anyway suggest that. It specifically said that Reno's boss gave an instruction in terms of forwarding a CV. End of story. That alone disqualifies Reno's entire suggestion. |

Image123: i don't understand this sort of self deceit. It's this same set of people that believed Buhari was jubril from Sudan for eight years because ipod said so. Don't you know that there'll be no cashless policy, or muslim muslim religious islamization war, or baba wey no well rhetoric against Tinubu in 2027? Don't you see that Tinubu will definitely get more votes in virtually every state than 2023? Your undoing remains that you continue to underestimate him and overestimate your trojan messiah. Why will he definitely get more votes when most of the country is disillusioned with him on account of the hardship occasioned by his policies? In 2023 no one knew the level of hardship he would inflict. But now, everyone knows. |

SmartyPants: Oga you are turning the issue on it's head. Whether Reno was qualified or not to advise is one issue. Of which you are saying someone who had already been a presidential spokesperson for GEJ was not qualified to be consulted on the choice of VP candidate. That's ludicrous and you should know it. This is a job a mere political consultant of no name or repute can easily do. One does not need to be a major political candidate themselves to simply offer advise.
Secondly I did not say Atiku consulted Reno. What Reno says here is that Peter Obi asked him to convince Atiku and the little evidence Reno has shared here supports this without being conclusive. Doesn't mean Atiku consulted Reno, means Obi asked Reno to offer advice in his favour. Is the difference clear?
It's all so simple. Please stop saying things that are completely false. Where in the email does it show that PO asked Reno to help convince AA? |

ElevationD: Hahaha. I just see you as one who attempts to bluff his way out of the clear reality of the matter. First refer to you previous comments. The “meaningless back and forth” is orchestrated by you.
“Obviously there would be a central team responsible for collecting and submitting…”. Thankfully you stated this yourself. If that was so, would it then no be clear to you that Reno’s job ended with receiving the CV and forwarding to whoever, including the Presidential candidate, who would vet and attach same to other documents, for onward presentation to INEC?
For your information bro, Reno Omokri was too little for that assignment. As clearly already mentioned years back, OBJ recommended Obi. Such a position was too big for a little known and inexperienced person like Reno Omokri, to as little as chip in a word. Atiku clearly stated in 2023 that he was handed 3 potential VP candidates to choose from. Why did Reno Omokri not tell him who to pick as his then PA too? In 1999, OBJ had 5 potential VP candidates, including Atiku himself. Where was little boy Reno? Tinubu submitted a list of 5 candidates and advised on Osinbanjo, who was his preferred candidate and handed over to Buhari. That’s what POLITICAL ONLY HEAVYWEIGHTS do. When political heavyweights are talking, where do you expect Reno as a PA to be?
By the way, why has Reno Omokri not tried to contest at least a local government election in his Itsekiri land, not to talk of Delta state as a whole? Why does he always have to act like an opportunistic football striker, who waits at the edge of the penalty box for others to do the hard work, and pass the ball to him to score? E shock me die that anyone, least of all Smartypants can imagine that Reno would have a jot of influence on that choice. |
Politics › Re: How Peter Obi Begged Me To Be Made Atiku's Vice in 2019 - Reno Omokri by DeepSight(m): 2:24pm On Jun 30, 2025 |
SmartyPants: That's why I started where I started...you people are talking as if the position of VP is one people apply for with CV's. Where is that done? You pick your vice based on the value the person can offer you. It is the principal to scout for a vice that fits his needs and he certainly won't be asking for CV's from one he desires. In fact, he would be the one to ask the person nicely.
That is to say, if Atiku asked for Obi's CV it only means he was not convinced yet. Can we at least agree on that? You are very funny. I am tempted to conclude you either don't know anything about Nigeria and its politicians or you simply don't know the dramatis personae you are discussing. There is no way in heaven or hell that Atiku will need Reno's intervention in choosing a VP, except in clerical or administrative processes. You asked why he will need the CV at all. Another funny question. They will need to build a profile for the campaign, for websites, for different things. Please please please and please stop pushing this line of thinking you have no idea how it makes you appear. Besides, as I mentioned, Atiku has already said how he chose Obi, and that it was on recommendation of OBJ after cancelling out Okonjo Iweala and Adesina because they were not members of the PDP. |

SweepingBroom: Lagos is a beautiful place planned well by Yoruba people. The planning and building of Lagos never was by any means a strictly Yoruba affair. As the capital of Nigeria for decades and the economic capital up till today, it has been invested in at all levels by virtually the whole of Nigeria, especially its Federal Government. I say this because you refer to the planning of Lagos. In this, I do not discountenance the fact that it was Lagos Island that was the actual Federal Capital - but there was a spill-over effect nonetheless to the rest of Lagos. E.g: The air and sea ports, 3rd Mainland Bridge, National Theatre, and much more. However it is fair to credit its Yoruba leadership with several progressive strides if you are looking at things from 1999. |

SmartyPants: But where did I say Reno was the decider? It is you who should do better than obvious strawman arguments.
I said he was the likely the convincer: To be a convincer in such a scenario, you must have decided first. You must have made a decision in your mind that that person was the right choice and that you would push that choice. Stop splitting hairs in a meaningless way good sir. If he forwarded the CV to Reno, it must be that Reno was to scrutinize the CV and then ostensibly give a report to the said Oga, and ostensibly, said report would logically have a bearing on the outcome of the entire discussion]. You have made baseless leaps of assumptions here - i have highlighted in bold the words that show this. If you disagree, no problem, but I would like you to explain to me, logically, what Reno's job in receiving the CV was. Reno was an aide to Atiku. Atiku could direct that CVs be collated through him or any other steps in the administrative process be taken by him for that matter. You need to pay attention to what is being claimed. Reno claims that he was being begged and harassed by PO for the role. His email does not disclose any such thing. It only discloses a CV forwarded to him at the instruction of his boss. Your assumption that Reno was a "convincer" is simply baseless - rooted in absolutely nothing. Aside from that I wonder what sort of imagination you have about Nigerian politics so as to give you the impression that at that level a personality such as Atiku would rely on a nonentity kid like Reno to "convince" him of such a heavy weight decision as choice of Vice President. I will stop short of saying what I really think of such a preposterous notion out of respect for you. At all events, you are surely aware that Atiku has explained how he chose Obi - at the recommendation of Obasanjo. |

SmartyPants: What would the resume be sent to Reno for? Scrutiny right? This is not an SSA 9r special adviser position.. A whole VP had to send his resume through Reno? Does that make sense except that it would mean Obi was not Atiku' first choice and he had to be convinced? And going by the email thread, who looks like the obvious convincer? The one to scrutinize the resume right?
Let's try to think straight. Jesus Christ, don't let me down, you are much better than this. The email speaks for itself. It says Oga asked me to forward my resume here. How does that make Reno the decider or anything? You know better than this. |

chicfarmer: From what I can gather here, your oga AA (Atiku Abubakar), if that is the name you redacted in the email, simply asked him to sent his resume to you. Meaning that Reno was more like an assistant to Atiku or maybe an adviser. What Reno posted above does not imply that P.O was begging him to help him beg oga to pick him Honestly. It doesn't imply any such jack. This fellow is utterly shameless. |

If Peter doesn't understand that, then he doesn't understand anything.
If Peter runs separately for President, just know that he has gifted the victory to BAT. Don't blame INEC, don't blame rigging, don't blame anyone or anything else other than Peter in that scenario.
Even the blind can tell that Peter running separately is the key to BAT winning. |

I've said the only way it will make sense for Obi to run is if he can get a popular politician like Kwankwaso to deputise him. Any other thing is a waste time Obi's best bet is to deputise Atiku. That's a combo that seems attractive to a lot of people. It also has the added advantage of familiarity having run before. Obi should not I repeat fools not try running in 2027.
