Thanks for your polite response. Such is rare in these parts.

But I disagree.

Some brilliant programmers stutter and stammer. Amaxing cardiologists who do the same. Taiwo is not a politician or a public figure. For years he has done his work for private clients, companies and states behind the scenes. His work is discussed in boardrooms and not on public stages. That being the case, I have no problem following his thesis. I worked in a Big six tax and accounting firm in 1995. Conceptually and philosophically, his work is beautiful. There is harmony in all its clauses, and everything jells together. You can always see where he is going.

We all see brilliance differently. The way an introvert sees brilliance will differ from an extrovert. What we should do is divorce ourself from emotion and review the work thoroughly first, and suddenly when we hear its oral argument, it will flow.
This wins me over. And very well put.
Especially the bold parts.

Horses for courses.

Thank you for your opinion. Elocution is not part of intelligence. Neither Bill Gates nor Zuckerberg are great speakers, and yet few would deny their intelligence. An aspect of intelligence is the ability to analyze a situation and come up with recommendations for improvement or stability. This will inevitably be accompanied by a body of work or some usable output other than grandstanding speeches. Taiwo has numerous research writings on tax all over the internet and has produced groundbreaking changes to the tax laws, which is currently passing through NASS. I am not aware of any similar body of work by Kelvin.

If there is, please point me to it.

Function over Form everyday
To be honest, I cant contradict what you say, he doubtless has significant gravitas. Pardon me, I can, like most people, sometimes be averse to a sluggish and ungainly demeanor and I am partial to the well (and spritely) spoken.

I was lectured in Tax Law many years ago by Ade Ipaye and I can tell a man who thoroughly understands the subject. In this regard I have no doubt that Taiwo does, I just dont see brilliance in him. Brilliance is the extraordinary - very thorough and knowledgeable people are often not necessarily brilliant - brillance comes with a wild streak that can see a matter from the angle of Jupiter while standing on Earth.

First there’s a difference between a federal road and a state road

Second, all federal roads are either undergoing repairs or contract evaluations so what next?
DeLaRue:
More roads are being repaired around the country today than at any other times in recent memory. However, every road cannot be fixed at the same time. And there has never been a period in the history of Nigeria where every single road was in good shape.

That will never happen, not least because every country has limited resources and there are other spending priorities beside roads.

The USA, Canada, UK, France, Germany, Saudi Arabi, South Korea, Japan etc all have their own bad roads, and people who use those roads in those countries also complain and are also frustrated and wonder why their governments are not fixing those roads.

That's just the reality.

And no country in the world stops building new roads because some existing bad roads have not been fixed.

At the time the now hugely important and expensive network of roads and bridges called '3rd Mainland bridge' in Lagos was constructed by Mr Babangida's government, Nigeria was poor and had even fewer good roads around the country than we have today.

Then, many people criticised the project for the same reason you have done, claiming the money should be spent on fixing existing bad roads.

However, imagine if 3rd mainland bridge had not been built how near-impossible living in Lagos would be today.

Like the Babangida government, the current government is right to have an eye on the future. The coastal road is a game-changing road project for the Nigerian economy and its people.
Its a big time misplaced priority and was only done illegally and without due process to corruptly enrich the Tinubus and their friend, Chagouri.

Remove oil and USA has a trade surplus with Canada.
Remove sentiment and see the reality.

Forcing Canadian factory isn't going to help USA. How much will be added to American trade by this tariff...maybe some 10 billion dollars. What would that change.

China is America's biggest problem, not it's neighbours. Canada actually lost a lot in manufacturing when American companies decided to relocate their factories to China. Most Canadian companies integrated as supply chain to American factories folded up.

Trump knows he can't do anything about china. He's even scared of hitting china with tariff because he knows the severe consequences- their agricultural export will collapse.

Since he can't bring manufacturing back from china, he's bullying American allies to send their factories to USA.
Europe and Canada did not steal American jobs. China did, Trump should face China if he's really serious bringing manufacturing back.

As for Mexico, Trump will be very stupid to place tariff on that country. America needs Mexico more than mexico needs America.

If manufacturing is to return to USA, Mexico has the be integral part of the value chain system or else it won't work.

No American will work in one assembly line earning 10 dollars per day. Those days are gone.
Someone has to do that job.
Thank you. Sensible.

If your country is running on trillions of dollar in debt and huge clunky trade deficits, what would you do?

Continue giving money out because you care for their opinions or you reduce most unnecessary spendings to cut loopholes

You continue in the path of trade deficit or you bring your allies to the table to buy more goods from you?
My advice for trump is to calculate a way to make American goods cheaper while keeping quality high.

I truly had no idea that the "Me too" movement eventually spread from the USA to Nigeria, where it has also become a vehicle of extortion deployed by opportunistic women both young and old, against men in the workplace. The paranoia that is fostered in such workplaces would be counterproductive and demoralizing in equal measure.
An expat MD in a multinational I once worked with was hanragued to have a secretary. He always refused. When I asked him why, he said to me - "I am not stupid enough to fall into that trap."

That ugly old woman reportedly has FOUR bastard out-of-wedlock rug-rats whose fathers are all former customers that fled for dear life after planting their seed to create another illegitimate member of the first 11.
Kai!

One must be somewhat wary though, of women who repeatedly make such allegations.
I fear that there now exist women who allege sexual harrasment on account that someone said to them - "Hello."

In fact, not that I fear, such exist already. When you ask them why, you will hear something like "it was the look on his face which made me uncomfortable." And I know of a case in at least one major multinational were a man was sacked on exactly this absurd ground.

It goes so far that rules are suggested for how long you may hold contact with the eyes during a conversation at work. Imagine being told, do not keep contact with the eyes beyond five seconds. If you do, its sexual harrassment and you will be fired.

In another case, at an office party, a man and a woman entered a side room to have a quiet conversation. After they exited, the woman filed a complaint at HR. She was asked - did he say or do anything innapropriate? She said no he didnt. So what was the problem? She said, well, I just felt uncomfortable. He was fired.

The instances of this kind of thing are legion. And it has been weaponized by many callous women deliberately. They know fully well that they can destroy you just by saying "he made a pass at me" - even if you never did any such thing. Once its said, in many scenarios, you are damaged - at your work place, in your marriage, in your family, in many contexts. Thats how far the madness has gone.

For this reason, I know career men who will simply have NOTHING to do with any woman in the work place - beyond greetings and simple courtesies. Some will go as far as walking in a different direction if they see a woman approaching. You might think they are paranoid, but they are not. They have been scarred by the wives of Potipher in this world.

You did not explain how it's bad logic. The same can be said about car accidents. More car accidents occur in urban areas where there are more cars than in rural areas where there are less cars.

I know that there can be more flights less accidents.

I asked you for source because you implied: that the the increased number of flights in the US could not explain the portional increase in crashes over the years. so I wanted to know where you saw this "PORTIONAL INCREASE". You can't just make claims, and when you're asked the provide an means of verification for the claim, you just say "Go look for evidence for what i just told you".

That's not how it works. If you make a claim, it up to you to provide evidence backing it up.

What I'm asking you for is the source of this increased rate information.
What you started with was simply: "there are more flights so that's why there are more crashes."
Everything I have said is simply to show you that that is bad logic.

Its about the proportions.
There can actually be more flights and less crashes - both by number and by proportion - in case you dont know.

If you cant understand that, then I cant go further.
As for sources, please go and do the math yourself. As for public / private, I already answered.

Have a good day.

How is the rate increasing?

I understand your explanation but where did you see that the rate increased?

Is it because this writerng moniker recently started posting about every single plane crash in the US that you suddenly assume that the rate increased by 5 percent this year? huh

Also, you are not taking into account public aircraft crashes vs private aircraft crashes.
I have no interest in Writerng - who is simply anti-American and either a Russian obsesee or payee. I also have no interest in Before or after Trump. My point of reference is simply the last few years. I have not gone into public v private because the same logic stands. You can actually find the data for private flights only and apply the same logic. My simple point to you is its not enough to say, there are more flights and that is enought to satisfy the question. You have to do the proportionate analysis. See the percentages and that is where the answer lies. I am glad you said you at least understand my explanation.
