Why cant we develop a unified system in which anyone with a phone number can vote electronically.
Of course your phone being tied to your NIN.

Your NIN being already tied to your bank account.
Your bank account already being tied to your BVN.

So how can you not be identified?
Technology can make this thing simple enough for people to vote from their bedrooms.

If people can safely use a phone to transfer money, they can safely use a phone to vote.

Name of your school ?
Kings College, Lagos, Founded in 1909.

I attended well over 30 years Ago.

Now, please you really need to drop the pomposity.

The truth is that it is ridiculous to claim that worms and maggots are beneficial in the body.

Here's a quick extract for you -

-----
No, not all worms and maggots in the human body are beneficial. In fact, most are harmful parasites that can cause various health problems.

Here's a breakdown:

Beneficial Worms: There are no documented cases of worms naturally living in the human body that offer any benefit.

Harmful Worms and Maggots: These are parasites that invade the body and cause harm. Some common examples include:

Tapeworms
Roundworms
Pinworms
Hookworms
Maggots (larvae of flies, often found in wounds)
These parasites can cause a variety of symptoms, including:

Abdominal pain
Diarrhea
Nausea
Vomiting
Weight loss
Fatigue
Skin rashes
Anemia

------

Now beyond the above, myaisis is known as the infestation of maggots in the body. It is very harmful.

Please educate yourself.

https://www.britannica.com/science/myiasis

Now, please name your own school and make your own case. I dey hear.

The issue is not a surprise. It shouldn't be.

The Naira is now a four digit currency. It is bizarre that the highest denomination is only 1,000 naira which is about 60cents. This is ridiculous.

That maximum 100k withdrawal can only purchase 10k goods of 2007. That 100k of 2014 could last you one week. Today, you could finish it in a day. So, you need to keep withdrawing 100k from the ATM each day. This massive turnover is why banks lack cash.

When the Naira became a 3 digit currency, the CBN introduced the N100, 200, 509 and finally the 1,000 note in 2007 if I'm correct. Then the 1,000 note was worth around $8.

There's an urgent need therefore for the government to introduce the 2k,5k and 10k denominations urgently.

Unfortunately, Nigerians would say higher denominations would cause inflation which no topnotch economist would support. An increase in money supply that is higher than the increase in goods and services is whats causes inflation.

The central bank should follow global best practices and introduce higher denominations asap.
Top notch economists ko, top notch economists ni. Go and sit down with this satanic recommendation.

Politics › Re: Labour Leaders Confirm Port Harcourt Refinery Is Operational, Functioning by DeepSight(m):
SmartyPants:
Oya now. Till then
Let's address the 97 per cent myth first.

The source for the "97%" Revenue Myth was the DMO (Debt Management Office) in 2021.

According to the DMO's 2021 Annual Report, the total revenue for the year was N4.00 trillion, and the total debt service payment was N3.86 trillion. Thus, the conclusion that 96.5% of Nigeria's revenue was used to service debt in 2021.

Lets examine this.

Whats was the Federal Budget in 2021?

Nigeria's federal budget for 2021 was N13.59 trillion. This included N7.99 trillion in total revenue and a N5.60 trillion deficit.

https://budgit.org/post_infographics/2021-approved-budget/#:~:text=The

Now, it is fair to note that this was a projection.

What this means is that from the get-go, the DMO office statement that total revenue was N4 Trillion was questionable.

Because as at 3rd Quarter, the govt had already raised about that much in revenue already. It is therefore impossible for that to be the figure for the whole year.

But what a minute. That is just the Federal Budget oh.

Remember that this excludes allocations to states and local governments! Which also includes sums generated from revenue!

So already you can see how terribly impposible it is for that statement to be accurate.

But that is just one level.

There is further logic to show that it is impossible. For it would imply that 97 per cent of the budget comes from loans. This is simply not true. To say that there is a budget deficit is not the same thing as saying that the entirety of that deficit represents loans. Because there are other sources of funding a deficit: e.g: future flows, ways and means - outright printing of funds, and several others.

Again, the truth is that the statement conjures up a certain imagination in the mind of the public: namely that is is 97 per cent of the Budget that is being used to service debt, which is obviously false. People deliberately make statements like that knowing that that is what will appear in the mind of the average man even if not what is conveyed. But you can see that even what was conveyed was false because going by the correct figures it would be more like 50 per cent of revenue represented in the Federal budget only.

But it has been parroted as 97 per cent of the revenue of the whole country. This is a key difference!

From the foregoing, can we agree that this thing was a myth?

The Catholic Church compiled their own Bible which is the most popular Bible today. But all other denominations outside Catholic use a different Bible not so? The Septuagint (OT) and the Vetus Latina (NT) were already in use in churches before they were compiled. So it is simplistic to say Catholic gave us the Bible today as it will make it seem as if the Bible was produced by the Catholic communion when it is not so.

The result of the debates was to propound theories that had deep effect on Christianity but it had no influence on the books to be accepted or rejected into the Bible. Go and study the history of the Bible my friend. The doctrine of Trinity is a NT concept and the NT was largely untouched in every selection of the books

The short and most accurate answer is that the Catholic Church compiled the Bible.

Re: Council of Nicea - Yes, theological debates. However, one thing I want you to realize is that the result of those debates also influenced books that would be rejected and books that would be accepted.

Re: Constantine - There would be nothing like Christianity as a major world religion today without him.
Kukutente23, please scan through the link here.

Also, I emphasize the bold.

When you say "years after" Nicea, that actually proves my point that those theological debates influenced what books would stay in and what books would be rejected.

There were literally hundreds of books, many of which preached completely different things.

Let me add why I asked who the first Pope was.

Because that ends the conversation. If Peter was the first Pope, then obviously the Catholic Church put everything together.

PS: That's probably a lie though.

You're mixing too many issues.

Let's start with the context: Nigeria's revenue-to-debt ratio was 97%. Do you understand what this means? Nearly every drop of income was going towards paying debts. This means living on more debt but already existing debtors were getting tired. Please do your research on these issues as it is impossible to have a reasonable discussion without this conctext.

1. Rising Fuel Prices

Up until recently, we have imported fuel, which means the price was dependent on the dollar. In the same post above, you have alluded to dollar being floated. Doesn't the resultant increase in dollar price then explain why an unsubsidized fuel price would then be increased? This is self-explanatory.

2. Is it relevant what he did in 2012? So if he was wrong in 2012, does that mean he should stubbornly persist in the wrong position just to appear honest? Come on. Let's have a serious talk here. Mind you, I never said Tinubu is a good person or he is the most honest person. I said he means well as Nigeria's president which he is today.

3. He is out to destroy Nigeria and kill many of its people with harsh policies

What would he gain from that? The easiest way to steal money as president is to maintain those fraudulent fuel subsidies and pay yourself as much as you like.

4. New jet is not a necessary talking point. I have agreed with you that some of the lavishing was wrong.

5. France and IMF. Now you are sadly delving into beer parlourisms.

a. How on earth can you say that having relations with another foreign nation - France - is corruption. What is the corruption there??

b. Under Tinubu, Nigeria has grown her foreign reserves and reduced her total loan portfolio. So what do you mean by slavery to the IMF and World Bank? In what way are we slaving to them? Does collecting loans amount to slavery?? How? What do they get in return other then their money back? This is disappointing and looking like you are simply hellbent on portraying the man in a bad light.

Well, while you are at it, I hope you can mention the Nigerian leader that has not collected loans since 1999. Good luck
I will give a detailed response later but first and foremost, please know that the claim that 97 percent of revenue was being used to service debt is the most silly lie ever spread in this country. If you think logically, you will see at once that it was always impossible.

PS: France / Corruption is not beer parlour talk. I know where Macron used to hang out in Lagos and it was a favorite hang out of mine as well. If you dont understand what's going on with France, I will take time to explain later.

PPS: If you know that the price of PMS is dependent on the USD, it is ridiculous to devalue the naira and expect that the same prices will not increase after you claim to remove subsidy. You will then have to pay more for the product again.

Later.

I'm not sure you have studied Christianity well enough. Do you realize that what you call Catholic Church today is an offshoot of the Jerusalem Council of the early Apostles who themselves formed the council after the Jewish council of Sanhedrin and Scribes? The history of Christianity is broader and more complex than just ascribing it to Catholicism. Christianity today has about five different branches with different theological emphasis. The Catholic, Protestants, Evangelicals, Pentecostals and Presbyterians are all valid branches of Christianity with different leanings in terms of theology. Each has at one time influenced the other with the Pentecostal which is the latest branch even influencing the Catholic which is the oldest and birthing the Charismatic Catholic movement.

The Council of Nicaea did not invent or produce the Bible. The council was convened majorly to deal with theological questions and debates and not the Bible. The Bible has existed long before the council was ever considered. The Torah is the oldest Bible. The Hebrew Bible is the second oldest. The Septuagint, which is the oldest Catholic Bible, existed before the Council of Nicaea.

More importantly, Constantine had nothing to do with the Bible. He made Christianity a state religion but he did not compile the Bible. The Catholics also left out some parts of the old scrolls in compiling the Latin Vulgate just as Martin Luther left out some parts of the Vulgate in compiling the Protestant Bible. Tyndale made some adjustment to the use and meaning of words from direct interpretation of the original Greek which is why he refused to use the Latin Vulgate extensively in his works.
