No two ways about it - she must lead a certain kind of wanton lifestyle to bag this. Bad luck cannot strike that plentifully and that repeatedly on one spot without control and direction leading it there. It is just statistically improbable.

come on bro what has MKO ever done for anybody apart for himself ? Nothing , meanwhile obafemi awolowo university built by awolowo has been attended by millions of people and has produced many great men and women . OAU

Please stop comparing gold to bronze. Awo is the gold in case you are confused lol
The bold just shows you know nothing about MKO, the most generous man who ever lived.
OAU is not the only University, and others have also established universities.

The truth is that AWO was a regional and not national champion. This is why unlike MKO he could not win elections outside the south west. He is also despised in the South East for very good reasons because he was a war criminal, given that he broke the Geneva Convention by deploying starvation as a weapon of war.

All that is written above are all bladerdash ! The writer is either a political jobberman or ignorant. First the fact that Babangida failed while implementing those policies does not invalidate the economic policies or make Tinubu approach an automatic failure. He conveniently gave us examples of places or times when it failed without telling us if places and times where it succeeded. Removal of subsidy and devaluation of a countries currency are not new approaches to management of economies. Big countries have used it successfully and prospered. Did China not use same strategies and succeed and now competing with America and others. Didn't China devalue it's currency at some point and time and hugely benefited from it. The truth is that whatever policy you implement depends on the knowledge of the implementer and how it's done not on the policy and I have no doubt that Tinubu knows what he is doing. Yes, temporary hardships even in Malaysia he cited it was never smooth ride, so please stop brainwashing us. He is a fake prophet preaching heaven without dieing, which is impossible..
Atikus project #2027 commissioned envelope writers !
China never implemented these ridiculous policies, please stop lying. These [policies have never succeeded in a single country in the world.

oh I am not in any way negating his achievements but they were all personal endeavors and not statesman-esque. The man was driven by his own personal ambitions and quest for power. I seriously don’t think he had any great plans for Nigeria. He just wanted power. What’s the next step up after you have conquered wealth ? Try to conquer power. But nevertheless a very great man in his own rights
Sometimes in our very flawed nature we are still led to do great deeds and for a great purpose. MKO remains the sacrificial bull whose blood made this democracy possible. The injustice done to him was so great that for the first time there was a consensus that the Yoruba must be compensated and that was how we had two Yoruba candidates and that was how Obasanjo was chosen. So Obasanjo would not even have arisen as a civilian president but for MKO.

As for Awo, he was never able to win a national election in Nigeria so please.

MKO remains a giant and I repeat: his blood watered this democracy. He was the sacrificial bull that was slaughtered for this country. So let no one put him down merely because he was ambitious. The truth is that when push came to shove he could have elected to run away with his life and wealth intact and he did not. That was beyond ambition. That was conviction.

All said and done, I still elect FELA as the greatest due to his activism as a rebel, his music, his inspirational capacity, his honesty, his originality. He remains for me one of the greatest human beings ever. Soyinka would have come really close but he has tainted himself in his old age by appearing to cuddle corruption in the person of the lowest and filthiest person on the list - Bola Tinubu.

MKO is more like personal accomplishments BUT he definitely belongs on the list but at the bottom
MKO's blood was shed for this democracy.
Say what you like about his personal life, but at the end of the day, he was the sacrifice that was paid in blood for this democracy.

That's probably what they will listen to.

PaNnamdi:
Tinubu handling of insecurity with kid gloves and using lives of security agencies as chess pieces without tackling the root of banditry in Nigeria is simply likened to a man that's trying to appease a lion who is ready to devour him at any opportunity.

Creating agro rangers is nothing but rubbish.if Fulani bandits can raze down communities, farmlands burn down army bases in hotbed states like benue adamawa and borno is it a poorly kitted agro ranger with a rusty ak47 and 1 magazine that will stop these violent jihadists disguising as bandits and protect farmland and communities from them?

Don't be deceived by jargon terms, the socalled bandits are Boko Haram members.i have been opportuned to speak to surviours of attacks from the battle ground states and also security personnel from those areas too, these bandits are equipped with machine guns, dynamites rocket launchers and almost unlimited ammo when they are on evil mission no Hilux of mopol or nscdc can withstand such an onslaught except for the army which happened to be poorly equipped.a soldier one personally told me how they ran into ambush of bandits in adamawa and how bandits were firing RPG 7 at them, that's is not a child play.

Tinubu had refused to take the bull by the horns and clamp down hardly on the sponsors of Boko Haram now disguising as bandits due to political reasons, and this very tactic he is employing would lead to his downfall no matter the amount of politics he is playing.
When his deputy is a Grand Patron of Boko Haram, what do you expect.

Britain is a monarchy not a Republic and therefore it's HoS is the King or Queen. They travel on a dedicated military jet - the Airbus Voyager ( see below). The plane is called the King or Queens Flight. Only junior ministers and cabinet ministers travel on commercial. And even in such cases if there are security or logistic concerns they travel on dedicated jets. ( also see below )

Benin Republic operates two Presidential Jets. Is Benin
a larger economy than Nigeria?

There are many points you can use to diss your country ( if you are so minded) - this is not one of them.
Your own snapshot shows that that dedicated plane only came on board 8 years ago. 2016. After much debate for decades. For such a wealthly first world country.

Whereas supposedly broke Nigeria, with the highest number of poor people in the world - has a fleet of ten presidential jets.

Sad! Imagine if this man had spent the last six months pushing bills and policies that would ensure that legislators do not earn higher than university lecturers and local government chairmen do not earn higher than secondary school principals. He would have boldly written his name in the heart of every single Nigerian. I hope the other legislators can reflect and start working tirelessly to end the income inequality between the Nigerian workers and Nigerian political office holders.
Never. Never ever ever. They will eternally work for their pockets alone.

This country will shake the world.

In fact we're already shaking the world.

But more to come.

See how Dangote Refinery is making the whole world tremble, especially Europe.

What will they say when we now complete our 35 billion dollar gas pipeline that is heading straight to Europe as we speak?

That will end Russia's status as the monopoly supplier to Europe, and triple our annual income.

We better go and start adding nuclear capability to our military.

Because I don't think Putin is finding all these moves by Nigeria funny at all.
If we know we can be serious let's be serious. This country has no business not being in the top 15 economies of the world.

I have seen that claim being widely circulated but I don't think any serious person should take rely on what is currently being circulated.

For one, 90% of reports I have seen are relying on the original report by the Premium Times which itself is scanty as to details. When exactly was this jet supposedly acquired? They should be able to tell us that much.
That a purchase has been in the offing is beyond cavil. That it has been done is what I am learning. I didnt even know it had been done. One teenager has been offering me insults for not knowing.

My issue is why the FG would proceed with such given the situation in the country and all its cries for sacrifice.

What I saw was that it was being purchased, not that it had been concluded. And yes I saw pictures as well - none of that suggested it was concluded. At all events, even if it was, then I missed it, I have other things in my life, and thank you if that makes me daft.

I am not interested in your insults and presumptions. I am very well aware of the matter of the presidential jet and even where it started from. I am talking about actually proceeding to close the deal in spite of the many objections. And in that regard you cannot speak of "weeks ago" given that it is obviously still in the process of being finalized.

Look, I am tired of children and presumptions on Nairaland. If you want to have a serious discussion the question should be why did the FG proceed with that purchase and is it justified in the face of our current economic realities, protests and all, and given all the talk about sacrifices.

Thats serious talk.
