NOC1: The protest was disrupted because the funds were blocked. What those guys where planning in Twitter space was anarchy. The protest has a serious political and regime change sponsors, but the ignorant youths did not understand Nobody planning regime change will give such generous advance notice of more than a month to the government. No coup works like that. |

The questions must be asked of this government -
1. If protesting is a right, why block accounts of protesters. 2. If protesting is a right, how is it a criminal offense to fund or sponsor a protest? |

Pastoshizzy: I don't care where you come from..if you can make your case objectively rather than curse then you just might make a difference regardless of your tribe or political affiliation.
From where? This Nairaland, anyone can talk trashy.
I said so.. anyone can spew trash You are telling lies. I made a statement. I said only a backward and demented country can have such a man as president. That was one line only. I was not addressing you, I didn't even know you exist. I don't have to explain my statement especially as I have done so many times already on this platform. You came from nowhere assuming that I was Igbo, assuming that I am a Peter Obi supporter and assuming I am bitter that the president is Yoruba. That just shows up your mind. There was no reason to make such assumptions. And all of you kids do so everyday to anyone who criticizes or dislikes the president. You all call us Igbo at once. And once I point out to you that I am not Igbo you now claim you don't care where I come from. You are confused and lost. Look let me just advise you this morning. Get this tribal block out of your head. It will just limit you. It will constrain your horizons. And for Gods sake stop the idiocy of imagining that Nigeria is one online battle between childish Igbos and Yorubas. Dump it. Thank me later. Good morning. |

ThothHermes: Image as used in the Bible in the context you mean is a spiritual quality. Think of it like your essence, a higher consciousness that other creatures do not possess. It has nothing to do with the physical body. This image allows man to rule over other animals. Here's the passage: Gen 1:26 Then God said, "Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness, so that they will have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the sky and over the cattle and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth."
Likeness refers to the anthropomorphic nature that God shares with man -- One head, two hands, two legs, you get the idea. This is nothing but the arrogance of man who assumes that God must be like he and he alone. God is intangible and has no form or image. |

Pastoshizzy: 1. It amazes me to see how bitter most y'all become over which tribe ruling y'all. Calling a segment of your country names reflects the extent of your values (which is nothing to write home about. Your preferred candidate has (since after the concluded election) has tried his best to disassociate himself from your toxic attitude because it could lead to violence. 2. By now we 'ronus' prefer your desperation for a country of your own is worthwhile (but you can hardly speak as one coz not all of you are fustrated and bitter anyway) than your attempt to turn our country into another multi ethnic war arena like Rwanda. Your hate will never bring anything to the table than curses and abuse. When will we stop this ridiculous nonsense of assuming with such finality that anyone who criticizes or despises Bola Tinubu is Igbo and an "Obidient?" Oga - I am neither. Neither did I say a word about what tribe BAT comes from - indeed I didnt say a word about any tribe. I hope this is enough to help you see that you are the one obsessed with tribe. Grow up please. There are over 300 ethnic groups in this country. Stop this nonsense of narrowing your vision to Igbos. Are Igbos the only people who may not like the president? Are other Nigerians such as myself not entitled to our opinion? Must we be Igbo or Yoruba to have an Opinion? You guys are crazy. |

9jatriot: I have heard some folks say Reino does not have a job that is why he always has time to be attacking Obi but the guy here that wanted to be president, I am not sure what to say about his job status either because he seems to only attend parties and major in minor issues.
How many family members wen de quarrel he go fit visit? There are many families where siblings do not see eye to eye, is he now going to request for a list of them and start visiting all of them?
If this guy had somehow managed to be president, he would have spent more time trying to keep up appearances than actually facing real issues. This is shallow, the man is obviously trying to ingratiate himself into the hearts of the people and that is all he will be doing untill 2027 believe you me. |

36STATES: Some Nigerian pastors, particularly those promoting prosperity gospel like certain RCCG pastors, engage in deeply unethical practices. They often ignore the deceptive actions of their leader, Adeboye, who has built a reputation on falsehoods and manipulation.
Despite being in his 80s, he continues to mislead his followers, claiming they'll go to hell if they don't pay tithes. As a billionaire, he preys on the vulnerable—those who are barren, sick, unemployed, disabled, or suffering from cancer—exploiting their hopes with promises of miracles that never materialize.
In one tragic case, my uncle, who was a member of RCCG was told that his son’s mental health struggles were due to insufficient tithing. Desperate, he increased his contributions threefold and selling some properties, but nothing changed. Sadly, my cousin ultimately took his own life. Staggering! |

The many malformations of the way we appear in this world suffice to put paid to the notion that we are created perfectly (or ever were) in the image of a perfect God, by such a perfect God.
I do not think it unreasonable to suppose that mankind might be the scientific experiment of an extra terrestial civilization every bit as mortal as ourselves. |

Proudlyngwa: Your government is too poor for all those fantasy you talked.
They only thing that can bail Nigeria is improving Nigeria to a production of crude oil in excess of 5 million barrels daily.
Cutting down unnecessary imports to balance trade.
Eliminating waste and flamboyancy from the system and investing heavily in education and security.
And this can not be achieved in 5 years In Nigeria, it cannot be achieved in five years. Elsewhere, it will be achived under two years. The most important factors are political will and creative economic re-engineering. |

Naija does not have the fore to stabilise anything.
Not that the don't want to, it's just not there.

Politics › Re: Edo Refinery Laments NNPCl’s Failure To Supply Crude Oil For Production by DeepSight(m): 9:55pm On Aug 11, 2024 |
wirinet: We should not be a member of OPEC in the first place. It's stupid logic to be exporting our crude when we produce only 1.2 million barrels per day, out of which we have only about 300,000 barrels at our disposal after setting financial obligations, and then importing over 1million barrels per day of crude from abroad with all the attendant higher costs to run our refineries including Dangote 650 000 barrels per day mega refinery.
USA produces 13 million barrels of crude per day, they are not a member of OPEC, Russia produces over 10 million barrels of crude per day, they are not member of OPEC, even Norway produces close to 2 million barrels per day, they are not exporting their crude. We that is barely producing 1 million barrels, 60% of which is our share, we pride ourselves as OPEC number. I can bet my left testicle that the quantity of crude stolen from Nigeria is in the ratio of circa 1 - 10. In that for every 1 million barrels we produce on record about ten million barrels are extracted and stolen off record. |

Proudlyngwa: You dont have enough resources to get the dollar to do that.
Consumption of forex exceeds what we are generating from our exports. Thats y we keep on borrowing.
The only way is let market forces of demand and supply naturalise the dollar naira exchange. You can do that when you have stablized yourself as a producing economy. No import dependent economy should do that. It is a suicide recipe for any import dependent economy. I hope I dont have to break that down for you and show you why. |
