mansakhalifa:Dem no born dem well to even think am. |
TheEminentLaity:First and foremost good sir, you are a capital f.ool. A study on how watches and laptops work would conclude on the mechanisms in which these units operate. What causes the the clock to tick and what and whatsoever objectives the study wants to cover. It may talk about design in relationship with function of component parts and the unit as a whole, not the designer. How dare you even use the word "function?" A function relates to a purpose - a task that is done for something. The functions of these devices cannot be spoken of at all without considering the users of the devices and what they use the devices for. In fact it is impossible to even utter either word absent a consideration of humans. Your comment showed a lack of thought. Its one of the most stuppid comments I have ever read in my life. What is the basis for your designer postulation?Hallmarks of design evident in living things. Particularly humans. I assume you are a christianAnd this assumption shows what a shallow mind you are. I am not religious at all. who knows next to nothing about christian theology or history neither do you know about modern physics biology or the sciencesI can bet I can school you on both subjects. Wanna bet? but here you are asking if it is even possible? Is it possible for humans to land on the moon? Why don't you ask your god, who created the earth in 6 days but can't do anything since then. Better go read a book and don't quote me unless you have something intelligent to talk about. My god? Six days? You are insane. |
KingEbukasBlog:The man says studying how laptops and watches work will have nothing to do with those who made them! The man is amazing! A true Genius! |
TheEminentLaity: A study of how laptops or wristwatches work would conclude on how it works and what makes it work. The conclusion has nothing to do with who/what designed it.Please just tell me you were being raped while you wrote this statement and so were out of your senses. Tell me, please tell me, that it is possible to even consider anything about watches or laptops without considering human beings? |
KingEbukasBlog:Gbam! I couldn't put it better! I thought sir plaetton was a thinker and an avid reader of books ? Why is he allowing sentiments cloud his judgement ?Plaetton is not really an Atheist. He is a breed of Pantheist who allows his hatred of religion to cloud his Judgment. Sometimes he can produce really dismal attempts at critical thinking. He still needs to return to school. |
plaetton:You are so funny. I don't disagree with a word you wrote right here - and I am sure you know that. I don't think anyone can possibly detest Oyedepo in particular more than I do. I am sure you know this as well. I am also aware that the universities they have established are for profit and highly exploitative institutions. This takes nothing away from the fact that these are contributions to intellectual development. Be objective. Do you think greed has not been a driver of intellectual development in other climes? Don't be a re.tard. You must really olodo, DepardoYou are the one insulting your own unintelligence. |
dalaman:In creating a car, I first create a factory. Does that now make sense to you? ? ? ? ? Created by whom or what? The Great Mind that upholds the worlds. You have already admitted that your brain has hallmarks of design. That gives you your answer. Work out for yourself the nature of a being that could create such a thing. |
plaetton:Such as the man who asserts that religious establishments in Nigeria have no contribution to Intellectual Development? You even specifically mentioned two men who have established universities and many schools and you stated that they have no contribution to intellectual development. Are you mad? And then someone points out the existence of a University to you and for that, you call him a child? You are a weak, cowardly, infantile m.oron, suffering from erectile dysfunction, period. |
Dalaman. Imagine yourself as a Cosmological Engineer trying to create a habitable planet. You would have to create a Solar System and every step along the way will be vital to the process. Even if some results are later vestigial. Read this: t’s generally accepted that the Asteroid Belt is a vestige of our early Solar System. Though we still don’t know exactly how our planetary system evolved, it’s believed that a collapsing nebula created the Sun and then each planet -both rocky and gaseous – developed out of accreting particles orbiting in discs similar to today’s Asteroid Belt. However, the millions of particles between Mars and Jupiter were unable to form a planet in this way because they were perturbed by the mighty influence of Jupiter’s gravity. So instead they have remained as a disc of orbiting material to this day. plaetton:This is stuppid. |
dalaman:In the same way, your manual is in-built into you. Where is the universe design manual? Does the designer of the universe want people to know about the designer and it's design?Yes and the Creator is screaming itself hoarse every second everywhere. You are the deaf one. What is the purpose of the existence of Jupiter? You've not given any answer. I don't have time for any spohism. It's either you state the answer of you know it, or say that you don't know it.Don't tell me you are this dafft. Your house could not be built on thin air, could it? In the same way the Earth could not exist other than within a System. PERIOD. |
dalaman:You have not understood what I wrote. I did not say the universe would notice the existence of this solar system or its disappearance. I said that in order to build an Earth, you require a Universe. In other words, an Earth cannot be built in nothingness. It requires an environment. This is in answer to your question about the purpose of Jupiter. The brain shows hallmarks of design. So why do you dispute that man was created? |
dalaman:That's nonsense. That's like asking me to prove that a someone created Laptops without referring to the Laptop at all. That's an absurdity. Why should I use God alone in proving its existence, and not use its emanations? Secondly, I hope you have gotten the answer to your question on the purpose of the existence of Jupiter. Did you digest it? |
dalaman:I have answered you. I said you cant have an Earth without a Universe. Did you miss that memo? |
KingEbukasBlog:Don't mind him. He's being cowardly with that s.illy response. |
plaetton:How does his revert to what you wrote show him to be childish? |
dalaman:1. To build an Earth, you require an entire universe. 2. What about your brain. Does it show any hallmark of design? |
The map below shows the temperate regions of the world in pink. Come on fellas - does it reveal anything quite clearly?
|
plaetton:The OP is not about Nigeria alone so I see no point in this statement of yours. You guys are so eager to defend religion, that you completely miss the pointWho are you talking to - me? You must be suffering from some undecipherable mental ailment. The religious people , the minds that built the ancient monasteries for study and careful contemplation of nature and the universe are far far different than the charlatans of of our clime that pollute the our mental landscape with superstitions for profit. This is irrelevant to the core point that you cannot blame religion for any alleged intellectual inferiority of sub saharan Africans. Doing so is simply not supported by the facts. I am specifically about superstitions, both traditional and religious, and how it shapes the African mind, and impedes the expansion of his intellectual potentials.Really? Just like it impeded them in Egypt and Timbuktu right? At least the Roman Catholic Church, being the oldest chancery in the world, is a promoter of education and intellectualism. They run school systems and school boards in almost every country in the world.I thought you ridicule them as idiots. Nevermind that sub saharan Africans are also part of this institution: for which you allege that they are thereby made iddiots. But what about our local brewed versions of Christianity, championed by the Adeboyes, the Oyedepos, etc ? What do they add to education, science and intellectual development ?They actually have set up universities, but besides that, this is altogether irrelevant to the core point. Religion is superstition, and superstition, deeply embedded superstitions are the bane of intellectual development in sub Sahara Africa. The superstitions of Europe and Asia have not slowed their Intellectual development, have they? Why do you single out Africa and insist that its retardation is about religion. That's nonsense. Go school up, there is one main thing responsible and that is the weather. |
plaetton:Your desperation on hang this on the neck of Religion is pathetic. Religious people have been and remain at the very forefront of most of mankinds intellectual accomplishments. |
Trudax:Its the Weather. It affects everything. http://news.softpedia.com/news/Severing-Climate-and-Civilization-35804.shtml http://www.amazon.com/Long-Summer-Climate-Changed-Civilization/dp/0465022812 |
urheme:The Holy Books dumb down things for the masses. So long as it works for you, cool. You shouldn't worry yourself about my musings. |
urheme:My friend the reason I asked you to go and observe a cadaver is one which should make you reflect deeply, for inescapably, that is what your body will become one day, and paying close attention to this gives perspective to the true meaning of life in that you can recognize in very stark terms that your body is an encasement only: little more than clothing - some rightly call it a cloak being worn by the inner being. When you come to that recognition you will also be able to appreciate more clearly that what you see of others around you is primarily their cloak as well, and indeed, that everything in this world is a cloak. It is when you have this recognition that you will appreciate what I am driving at. When this cloak is removed at death the inner being must stand naked and cloakless in the stark reality of all the living energies about it. |
urheme: plaetton: truthislight: Logicbwoy:Now let us calm down carefully together and let me ask all of you four these preliminary simple questions: first and foremost, I would like to ask if you people are crazy. Are you guys really in your right senses? Yes, you heard me right: the question is indeed if you guys are crazy. You guys must be the ones smoking something - not me: and I say that with all sobriety and sense of seriousness. For, if it were not that you gentlemen are indeed crazy, how else would you expect any sane and reflective person to perceive this world? From whence you know not, you opened your eyes made of flesh one day and began to see a world about you. You began to grow and your body became larger and firmer until you became an adult. You find that it turns out that your world is a small blue planet orbiting a red furnace in a universe of billions of similar furnaces. Everyday you live in this world is nothing but an astonishing and strange miracle, in all truth. Have you taken the time to observe your head closely? I stated in the OP that examining this very head of yours will unravel much about what exactly you are as a being. Yes, na me talk am: examine ya head. However my saying this has elicited nothing but mockery on this thread: but really a sane person must wonder why: do you not take a moment to pause and meditate to your self? Just take a mirror and stare really hard at your self, the eyes made of flesh, the skin which covers the bones, the temples and the teeth all of which will be empty and dry lifeless bones in the not too distant future. That entire physical make up which will all rot: become rotten meat and fade away, that skull in which your two seeing balls of flesh currently hang, will surely lie dead as an empty cage which is exactly what it is and yet you have the nerve to dare tell me that it is not self evidently a casing for a being for a short time: a casing which provides the being's experience of what it sees, touches, tastes, hears and smells, my friends does this alone not tell you that that entire experience is subjective and something that a being is observing through this casing and which therefore cannot have any objective reality to it: the experience of each casing being altogether different and when this casing dies and rots away what is the reality to that life which it just lived if not a short virtual reality experience, no? You are still in your encasements, perhaps this should be an excuse for your myopia, but for me it should be self evident to one and all that once this encasement falls away as it surely would, the human being must see and know its mortal experience for what it is: a virtual reality experience for a short time. If you guys don't see this, you are the deluded ones and not me: I will however continue the thread step by step to expand on this matter. |
plaetton:The real world is the other side. The Spirital realm. That is the reality against which one can compare and make such an assertion. The physical world is not real and there are pointers to this, one of which is the fact that we die and decompose for instance. I will be back to iron out the points soon. |
plaetton:Haba Kwa. |
dalaman:Still within this hologram of a world, my friend. Deepsight had Deep Issues to deal with. Money tins. Dont worry, I will continue. |
urheme:Have you ever closely observed and contemplated a cadaver? Do people hallucinate, and if they do, do some hallucinations involve pain? I am not sure you have contemplated this issue carefully, or perhaps you do not understand what I am saying. |
delishpot:No, on the contrary, it is you who does not have a point: because nowhere has it been asserted that kids should not learn. What has been in contention is the proper and advisable stages and degrees of learning having special regard to the needs of a child for balanced social and emotional development at its level. Please read the red above at least ten times okay, for that has always been the point which you miss. Forcing a five year old into the world of forty year olds because you have detected a special skill in him is and will always remain destructive to that child. Your arguments that you would permit kids to drive, vote and enter into contracts are so comical that there is hardly any need to properly address them. The reasons why such things are inadvisable are well documented and known to all literate persons. Your argument otherwise is as banal as saying that since 13 year olds are capable of having se.x, then the age of sexual consent should be reduced. This shows that you have no idea about the fundamental underpinnings and cardinal understandings which have guided the principles of child development and protection. Period. To underscore your confusion you even brought up the question of child mornachs. My friend, you know, there is a saying that a little education is a terrible thing. I can write all the epistles in the world, but it is obvious that you are of a rank that just is incapable of understanding these simple things. You belong to the pathetic rank of "e dey pain you" debaters. Really sad. No epistle i write will sum it up better than the poster up there who simply stated that a 13 year old needs to be allowed to be a 13 year old for the simple reason that she wouldn't ever be 13 year old in her life again. If this simple and eloquent missive still misses you, brother, abi you be sister - wetin I fit do? Nathin. |
delishpot:No problem, Mr. "I will allow ten year olds drive". Na you sabi. Enjoy. |
delishpot:Such a typical African answer to an educational issue. "Progress" paining somebody? You must live in a hovel. |
