Ah! Allahu Akbar, I see the demon wiegraf viewing this thread! Wiegraf bro, Happy New Year. I bid you change thy contrary ways, and herewith conjure right thinking theism into your head. Receive! Allahu Akbar. |
benzics:I don't know where I have ever said that the red infers the blue. That inference must exist only in your misguided imagination. |
benzics:How is what verifiable or falsifiable? I am pointing you to the very things that verify God and you ask for verifiability and falsifiability? That is ridiculous. Study the evidence I have provided. I say it again. Evidence for God: 1. You 2. The observable Universe about you. After you have studied these two things, revert to me. |
benzics:Exactly, and you are free to observe your own existence and the universe about you which all empirically and ineluctably evince the existence of a Mind or Minds far above our reality. |
wirinet:I have to disagree with you here, Old Friend. Nigeria is a most abnormal country suffering horrendously disagreeable psychosis. For only in such a country can a person who committed treasonable felony by being involved in the military overthrow of a constitutional democracy - which plunged Nigeria into 16 years of egregrious military dictatorship ever be considered, much less permitted to contest a presidential election. The plain truth is that such a person should be in jail: should long have been convicted of treasonable felony and should never even contemplate the presidency of Nigeria. But because we are such a sick people with a dim sense of history, we permit such sacrilege and even celebrate it as positive change. In truth, whereas you attempt to portray Buhari as a peace loving democrat: this is false - you have forgotten the hundreds of yourth corpers killed in the North as a direct result of his provocative utterances to Northern youth regarding the 2011 elections. It is not only by going to court that one shows that one is a democrat: one also shows it by being large hearted enough in dicey situations which could cost lives. Buhari did not do that and that in 2011 and that cost many hundreds of lives. Do you also remember his comments about the dogs and baboons being soaked in blood? What is wrong with you Sir? Contrast him with Jonathan who left without a whimper. Do you know the real truth about the 2015 Election? Jonathan's life was a risk and Buhari's people had let him know in no uncertain terms that he would be assassinated if he did not "comply". I was close enough to key actors in the corridors of power at the time and I know what I am saying for a fact. In fact, the USA and Britain also advised him in similar terms. All of this was done for Buhari, who you here attempt to cast as a law abiding Democrat? If Nigeria were not a sick nation, we would not permit ex military dictators, particularly those involved in, or who were beneficiaries of a coup that truncated a constitutional democracy, to be elected President. It is quite unthinkable, but anything goes in Nigeria. The State of Emergency declared by Jammeh and ratification by the national assembly is an exercise in futility. An election had already been conducted and a winner had been declared. The constitution itself recognize that the elected president shall assume office after 60 days following the day of his election, no state of Emergency or even court order can prevent that. It is only a court judgement that can annul the results of the electionsYou are quite wrong. Only a court Judgment can put aside the State of Emergency and as per the Constitution of Gambia, Janmeh may remain under a State of Emergency. This in no way means I support his detestable actions: I am speaking strictly legally. |
Aseity a·se·i·ty (ə-sē′ĭ-tē, ā-, -sā′-) n. Philosophy The state or quality of existing in and of oneself, without external cause. |
UncleSnr:Whoever said God "came from" anywhere? ? ? God did not "come from" anywhere. God is rather self existent. This is what self-existence means: http://www.thefreedictionary.com/Self-existence |
UncleSnr:Because there is no such thing as nothing. |
benzics:Of course, not even an atom such as a whole being called you! |
Wilgrea7:Have you ever contemplated these questions: 1. Even if you were to die this second, are you certain that you will know it? How are you certain that life doesn't just continue in another frequency which is what every moment of the future is? 2. Are you sure that you do not simultaneously exist on multiple dimensions of time and space? And do not just experience each moment as an experience whilst moving forward in time. That man that is you may be dead five minutes ago in another reality but is here reading this in this reality at this moment. Have such things occurred to you? 3. What do you think happens at sleep? 4. Each time you awake, what has happened? |
benzics:Yes, It has been a while and I hope you have been conducting yourself with all sober propriety and not going to and fro seeking what incongruities you may spew forth. Well religion is the only reason we know about heaven and hell, cuz different regions have their own version of heaven and hell, so how are we supposed to consider heaven and hell without religion?Mankind have always known of the spiritual realms which are their real home. You talk of post death experiences? Again bro, I tell you, those are only speculations, or do you know one who has any post death experience? Many people have had both pre birth memories as well as recollections of past lives and even past deaths. At all events, that you will survive the demise of the physical clothing you call a body is a self evident fact to anyone who but pauses. Heaven and hell are simply not real! How do you know this? Even as your own video (which I saw long ago) asks: what if there is something that you do not know that you do not know? Even if they were, I thought you were a deist? What does being a deist have to do with rejecting the spiritual. Who told you that deists are necessarily materialists? Or are you just a religious skeptic? Cuz I know that deists believe in a creator of the universe that doesn't necessarily monitor the activities of his creation, so if you are a Deist, how then do people go to heaven and some to hell if no one is keeping records? Or people just get randomly throwned? Its simple really. Souls simply float to such levels of reality or such dimensions as are consistent with their spiritual weight and homogeneous with their vibrations. But if you are talking about "hell on earth", well I can totally relateThere is of course that everyday, and yes people also experience "heaven" and "hell" on Earth everyday. |
benzics:Be careful what you wish for. Put aside the religious notions and simply recognize that Heaven refers to a positive, improved and Light post death consciousness. Hell simply is the reverse: a negative, worsened and dark post death experience. In fact, people transit into heaven or hell as thus described every single day whilst living this very life here on Earth. For many die a thousand deaths before they die. |
Lennycool:Now this is exactly the sort of exasperating comment that one has grown to become most tired of: the barefaced thoughtlessness of the noveau-scientific pretenders such as this man, whose display of vacancy in matters such as this is just jaw dropping. For persons such as this lazy poster, once mankind discerns the barest surface of the question of "how" any process in nature occurs, then the whys and wherefores no longer matter - nevermind that replicating these processes in artificial environments still reveals precious little of the actual "how". This is like a man who denies the wonder of the growth of a plant because he can plant a seed. What vacuous shallow thinking. Or the wonder of the growth of a child because he can feed the child. Procreation is indeed a great and beautiful mystery. Only a thoughtless f.ool will fail to recognise that. Furthermore, this sad excuse of a post doesnt even touch upon the salient matter of transformation. |
Damianbrown:Why and wherefore. . . ? |
Our bodies are a living bundle of energy enlivened with electricity. We do not feel this electricity because of the protective covering on our nerve endings. I have suffered a condition before where that protective covering was compromised. Thankfully I have since recovered. However during that time I became acquainted with so many odd and intense electrical sensations and electrical messages that course through the body every second. To what extent can we say that the cessation of these electro/ neurological activity at death will cause the energy therein to cease/ transform or remain in an electrified spiritual form absent the body? |
Good Morning Nlanders, I thought to read a few chapters of my copy of the Holy Quoran yesterday, and came across these very instructive verses which resonated with me and I thought to share here. Sura 56: The Event From Verse 56 "Behold the semen that you emit: did you create it or did we? It was We that ordained death among you. Nothing can hinder us from replacing you with others like yourselves or transforming you into beings you know nothing of." I thought this verse to be powerful and very exact regarding the mystery of life and procreation and soul and death: these very simple but powerful words encapsulate the ignorance of man regarding the process by which he comes to be: his powerlessness therein, it also sets out the unstoppable grinding out of the generations and finally gives sober thought to the mystery of that form and nature into which we each must be transformed into: one and all. Let me use these powerful words to urge the atheists amongst us to reconsider their very essence: their very spirituality. PS: Mods please kindly do not consider this an Islamic topic and thereby move or delete it: it is a general topic on spirituality for which I have only extracted thoughtful words from the Quoran, thank you. |

4kings:Will revert. Stop calling me sir o. Happy new year |
KingEbukasBlog:Gbam. Happy New Year Mr. Ebuka. I must thank you for teaching me a few new words this year! As well as for your interesting and engaging discussions. |
KingEbukasBlog:There is no point engaging Seun in any intelligent conversation. As soon as he disagrees with my view, he will ban me - he has done this several times because he does not like my words. I'd much rather engage bigger freer minds than his. His mind is a hapless place. |
Revelation1:You are about to contaminate the refined thoughts I want to distill and engage with here, with horrible arguments like this: Revelation1:Remain only if you desist. Otherwise go away. |
Revelation1:I agree with the last line of what you have written, but please I have to ask you politely: go away from this thread. |
akintom:Use your hands to touch your physical head. Touch it all round - from the back of your head, to your ears, to the top of your head, then to your temples, feel your eyes, nose, lips and chin. Circle the jaws and back to the back of your head. What have you just touched and groped? A Visor. A helmet-like instrument designed to help the being within perceive its outer physical world. This object will be taken off at death along with the rest of the instrument - the body: and the real being will exist in its real transcendental reality. This is virtual reality. A simulated game we enter into at birth and be done with at death. Nothing you see in this world is real. It's all a simulation which we will step out of at death. |
plaetton:No, really they are imaginations or projections of what Paris might be like. You still have not got the point: get it now: An illusion would be actually visiting Paris - but understanding that what one sees and perceives is actually a simulation. Its not really there. It's an existential illusion. The existential illusion we live in prior to death. |
plaetton:Lol. Funny. I really don't know about word sorcery. It baffles me that you say it of me. I speak and write plain ordinary and simple words. Now, more seriously: 1. A person called Deep Sight exists: be it his birth name or his online name regardless 2. However the person called Deep Sight by himself cannot know whether his existence in this world is a simulation or not ~ 3. Other persons who independently verify his existence may know that he exists ~ 4. But the said other persons may not know whether they are experiencing a simulation or reality Now, note carefully that all of this would be unimportant if this were the permanent state of our existence: we could then regardless take it to be our reality no matter what: but the puzzling fact that we must (one and all) one day frizzle up and suddenly lie inert and rot away into the ground and air bestirs a deeper cognition: namely the cognition that our current form is not all that there is to our existence. |
OP. Why the title? |
plaetton:Perhaps I would be putting what you are trying to say better if I said that we cannot really know what an experience would be like unless we have it, and every supposition or imagination of what it may be like would only be just that: a supposition or imagination and never quite the experience. This is not to say that imaginations are the same thing as the illusion that we discuss here. |
plaetton:It is the general gist of what he was saying that I found interesting, and also the gamely take on death/; the fact that we all are, as it were, "waiting to transform" into some other form. There are many realities and Death is not the "only" reality but perhaps he meant to say it is the only certainty. |
Omudia11:This seems to contain the implicit suggestion that Western thought is predominantly theistic whilst Eastern thought is predominantly atheistic. Is this really the case? |
ScarletOverkill:Might I ask why, madam? |
urheme:Very well and very wisely said |
texanomaly:How are you Madam? Merry Christmas and a Fabulous New Year to you! |
