You claim that Christians rejecting slavery is evolution. A "moral evolution" that takes them away from the "slavery" you insist the bible endorses. Fine, let's work with that. If this moral evolution as you term it took place, it was either as a result of their faith or their culture - and all that entails - which led to the subsequent civilisational progress.

Could you please show evidence of that same "moral evolution" in moose.slim countries or jurisdictions - slavery is clearly embedded in their texts and they only "legally" ceased trading under threat of war - as recently as 1960 or thereabouts (you can still buy black people in those parts).
+
I quote my words to ono -

It is a pity that there is much that is very backward about this religion. And more so since it once experienced a golden age when it was the leading light of much advanced thought in the world.

Sadly it has been unable to shake off the tendency towards misogyny/ gender apartheid as well as a very violent streak which is taken straight from the pages of its scripture. The insistence on dictating what women wear in many Islamic countries, and the fact that in a place like Saudi Arabia until very very recently they were even denied the right to drive, is very telling. Many women in these theocratic places cannot even travel or move at all without permission from a male, what is that?

Beyond that look at the application of Shariah law in Northern Nigeria. It has been used to lock up several non Muslims for years - for alleged blasphemy in a supposedly secular country with constitutional freedom of speech, freedom of expression, freedom of thought, conscience and religion? Look at the gruesome murder of Deborah, a Christian student in Northern Nigeria by a Muslim mob. Those who did it were on camera and they went scot free, even the governor justified it.

The truth is that this religion has an explicit creeping doctrine in which it seeks the total subjugation of the world to Islamic tenets. And in this they are specifically guided to appear moderate and gentle when in the minority but to become belligerent when in the majority. This is where the practice of Taqiyya often comes in. Telling lies to defend oneself and to defend Islam when in a weak position. But once they are in the majority, no one can truly be safe in terms of the rights we understand to be standard in the modern world.

Look at the practice of honor killing for example. What can we say of that.

There is too much that Islam has not evolved past and frankly it is still dwelling in the medieval world.

And lest I be accused of singling out moose.slims, please show where\when\how this moral evolution took place in your country? Where and when amongst the cultures or religions was it changed? I stand to be corrected, but there is nothing I can find?

Surely this ME would also encompass human sacrifice, blood offerings, money rituals etc. All of which are still rampant. Or, are they not as bad as slavery, which also still is.
+
Such evil exists on the fringes of society, and is criminalized by law and is not to be compared to that which was orthodox and legal such as slavery in its time - not just legal but defended morally by scripture.

Or perhaps you are just claiming the countries\nations\peples whith historic Judeo-Christian backgrounds are better grin. I an't callin' nobody "House N" or "Uncle R", just saying cheesy

TV
+
Nonsense.
As history shows, Judeo-Christian background didnt lead to freedom or egalitarian societies.
Gradual moral evolution through rebellions, wars did - and the efforts during the age of enlightenment / the renaissance, were key

I still dislike it. Sounds like saying "strengthness." There is a tautology inherent in that.

Anyone who has a real understanding of English will understand what I am saying.

The quality of being strong is called strength. You don't need to add "Ness" to it. The quality of being mighty is called might. You don't need to add anything to it.

At best it is an archaic usage that can only be found in drama or some poetry with poetic license.

Mightiness is not current proper usage but anyone can write what they like.

I sha advise you not to use it in civilised or polished company. They will snigger at you.

Of course, that's the lie that Christendom has heaped on your head.

There's a book you can quickly read to set yourself free. It's called THE 16 CRUCIFIED SAVIOURS. All of them were called "Christ" before anybody heard about your God Jesus.

In fact, Ptolemy, the second in command to Alexander the great, called himself "Christ" about 300 BC. Soter means "Saviour, Redeemer, Deliverer." So, stop talking what you know nothing about

I think you assume too much, are pompous in your assumptions and therefore rude without thinking. You also imagine you know it all.

For any claim or proposition to be considered true in the first place, there are certain requirements it must meet; otherwise, it’s just an empty claim. Truth, as we understand it, is objective. Truth is verifiable and demonstrable. Truth stands regardless of belief or acceptance.

Truth is falsifiable and consistent. Truth is non-contradictory. And Christianity quite clearly falls short of these criteria, making its claims anything but established truth. In fact, no religion meets that standard— they all make assertions and label them as truth. That’s a big difference.
+
Truth may not be verifiable, demonstrable or falsifiable. Because there are many things that are true that no human being can ever know about, talk less of verify, demonstrate or falsify.

But yes, Truth must be consistent. And it stands regardless of belief.

So, you know all that? If so, it doesn't appear you made the first comment that I replied to.

As you rightly said, the concept of "Christ" has been for thousands of years before anybody heard of Jesus. Europeans coalesced all the older "Christ" stories that existed in the known world to create Jesus.

People called "Christ" and sons of Gods before Jesus include; Horus, Krishna, Buddha, Mithra, Zoroaster, Ptolemy Soter, etc).

Europeans simply coalesced all of them and fashioned out Jesus. That's why Jesus has all the attributes of the older Saviours, Redeemers, Messiah
+
The word "Christos" existed in Greek, yes and simply meant "anointed one" and was commonly used, but the concept as a saving messiah did not exist, that concept came from the Jews.

Verses that contradict the idea that Jesus could have died for our sins.

Fathers shall not be put to death for their children, nor children put to death for their fathers; each is to die for his own sin (Deuteronomy 24:16).

Everyone will die for their own sin; whoever eats sour grapes—their own teeth will be set on edge (Jeremiah 31:30).

The one who sins is the one who will die (Ezekiel 18:4).

Flawless my foot!

1). No one has ever seen God (1 John 4:12).

Contradiction:
The Lord spoke to Moses face to face, as one speaks to a friend (Exodus 33:11).

No man has seen or can see God (1 Timothy 6:16).

Contradiction:
The Lord appeared to Abraham near the great trees of Mamre while he was sitting at the entrance to his tent in the heat of the day (Genesis 18:1).

2). There is not a righteous man on earth who continually does good and who never sins (Ecclesiastes 7:20).

Contradiction:
There was a man in the land of Uz, whose name was Job; and that man was perfect and upright (Job 1:1)

3). All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).

Contradiction:
Noah was a just man and perfect in his generations, and Noah walked with God (Genesis 6:9)

4). The women hurried away from the tomb, afraid yet filled with joy, and ran to tell his disciples (Matthew 28: 8 )

When they came back from the tomb, they told all these things to the Eleven and to all the others (Luke 24:9)

Contradiction:
Trembling and bewildered, the women went out and fled from the tomb. They said nothing to anyone, because they were afraid. (Mark 16: 8 )

5). I will establish my covenant as an everlasting covenant between me and you and your descendants after you for the generations to come, to be your God and the God of your descendants after you (Genesis 17:7)

Contradiction:
The days are coming, declares the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the people of Israel and with the people of Judah. (Hebrews 8:6–13)

6). If you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved (Romans 10:9)

Contradiction:
Not everyone who says to me, ''Lord, Lord,'' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven Matthew 7:21.

7). For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast (Ephesians 2:8–9).

Contradiction:
For the Son of Man is going to come in his Father’s glory with his angels, and then he will reward each person according to what they have done (Matthew 16:27).

cool. If you make the Most High your dwelling—even the LORD, who is my refuge—then no harm will befall you, no disaster will come near your tent. (Psalm 91:5–10)

2 contradictions:
Like a servant who earnestly desires the shade, and like a hired man who eagerly looks for his wages, so I have been allotted months of futility, and wearisome nights have been appointed to me (Job 7:2:3)

Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery ordeal that has come on you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice inasmuch as you participate in the sufferings of Christ, so that you may be overjoyed when his glory is revealed. (1 Peter 4:12–13)

9). I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me (Exodus 20:5).

3 Contradictions.

(10). Make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).

3 Contradictions:
Then Jesus said to the woman, "I was sent only to the lost sheep of Israel." (Matthew 15:24)

Jesus sent out the twelve disciples with the following instructions: “Do not go among the Gentiles or enter any town of the Samaritans.'' Go rather to the lost sheep of Israel (Matthew 10:5–6)

No Ammonite or Moabite or any of their descendants may enter the assembly of Jehovah, not even in the tenth generation (Deuteronomy 23:3).

Please sir, since you associated the term "weight" to this and even went as far as to say "specific", could you kindly quantify exactly what this weight is. How it specifically affects, or is supposed to affect individual Africa-Americans? Does it lead to mental or physical distress of some kind? If so, what are the symptoms - and the medical interventions required? Should there be legal redress?

One of the hallmarks of your narrative/discussive style is the ability to search far up your fundament and pull out notions that are at best ill-considered, and usually just inane (only matched by your propensity for dodging questions wink.
