But as others have pointed out, it is very important to do your own research even with the services of a consultant. Asking questions should be encouraged in the black community. Do you know how many people have ended up in negative situations because they swallowed the words of an immigration consultant for example, without checking the information?

The OP drew a lot of interest because he hinted that residential mortgage holders could claim tax relief and that the black community needed to employ the services of a consultant to be privy to this and other tax loopholes.

This was deliberately misleading and he was rightly called out/questioned by other posters and subsequently clarified his assertions (with information that is freely available)

No HMRC won't tax your USD receipts automatically, but you do have a responsibility to declare it and pay applicable tax on it if it is classed as an income via self assessment. You only get taxed automatically on income you receive as as an employee via the PAYE system. Other incomes you'll have to declare and pay appropriate tax on them through self assessment.

Just finding ways to avoid the money being paid into my Nigerian USD account due to all the USD transfer and withdrawal wahala. Also trying to avoid the funds being taxed or poor exchange rate over the ATM.

Repayment mortgage is the best, you're paying the interest + capital........

Let me explain Interest only mortgage to you, in the simplest form ......

You buy a £200,000 property, mortgage term is 25 years........

The interest on the mortgage is £70K............. In 25 years, you would have only paid back £70K.......

At the time of maturity, you must pay your lender the balance of £130K........

If you're now semi retired, and lucky enough to have £130K, under your pillow (goodluck).......

If you don't ...... You don buy wàhálà.........

Even if your house is all electric - power, heating and eating - you shouldn't be paying that high. Either there's a debt on the bill or the energy rating is between band E - G, abi person don tap your light .

For context, I stay in a one-bed flat. Prior to the current weather, my electricity (pre-paid) was £30 per month and gas was £31. Now, I'm doing £40 - £50 for electricity and £46 for gas (cooking and heating). Both are still under £100.

Even if it's only electricity you're using for power, heating and eating, £250 is rather too much.

Also house pls advise: is an EPC rating of C or D manageable? I currently live in a B rated and it is really good. But now looking to move and I see some really nice properties but with C and D rating, is the difference that bad?

I have always helped him in his house projects,might not be much 100k,50k,20k when need be,I never siphoned my money to myself,as a young lady I envisioned my pretty little family on my head,(3 children, handsome husband and pretty wife with a fine car living happily)

So even when "two have become one" you still act as if you guys are not a team ...

The only time the word "we" appeared there, it was because it was suggested by your hubby ...

So while he sees you guys as a team, you see yourself as competitors ...

Until you change your mindset, it's best you don't go back ...

Another delusional bint who thinks Nigerians are the ones keeping the UK afloat. No UK university has gone bankrupt before so what makes you think it is Nigerians that are maintaining them and keeping the professors employed. Most coming in can only afford to pay for a masters for one year and most of these universities have UK students on 3-4 year undergraduate programs.

Genuine qualified Nigerian Doctors & Nurses are doing a great job on the NHS but they are not the majority and I have also not said anything against them..this is about fake students.

As for Careworkers, a Nigerian was jailed for 10 years the other day for killing a patient which is is my other point. People abusing certain visas which have lax protocols when they clearly do not know how to do the job.

Scotland has a rent increase and eviction ban in place till March 2023 at least. England is currently in consultations over a rental cap. Wales has stringent regulations in place. If you are aware of all the regulations and potential pitfalls, it's easier to manage. Property is like running any other business. Enter with a solid strategy and arm yourself with knowledge.
