Gbam!!! @ bolded. it amazes me how people make life/important decisions based on information from this thread without doing extra research. Not to discredit information given by people here but please do your research in addition to what you see here. there are some queries or questions people ask here that a google search would answer and if nobody replies the post/question the person will come back and start ranting that nobody wants to help.

I believe lots of people here are genuine but then as lots of people have said their info could be outdated, specific to location, personal experience/favour. In summary DO YOUR RESEARCH and add to whatever answers you get over here.

the op could be correct too if for 6 months HRMC did not tax him, the full story is not known and the thing about tax code is correct. If HMRC makes a mistake on your taxes one year they will correct it and take it out the next.

Lol, and someone would have us believe they didn’t pay (PAYE) tax for 6 months . While it’s not impossible (at risk of calling someone a liar), that would be a very rare exception, and not the norm. To come online and misinform folks confidently that that is the norm, is staggering and beggars belief.

HMRC money no dey lost. Of they don't collect it this tax year, they will collect it the next tax year

I think 30hrs is the ceiling offered by the govt to everyone until they get to primary school, and if you need more hours, then you gotta pay. is this correct?

I just started enjoying this benefit and from what I understand it works out to 30 hours a week during term time. So during school holiday periods no free childcare. Works out as 23 hours a week if you spread it out the whole year.

You start to get this after your child turns three the next April or October.

Ps. This is Scotland, I don't know about down south
If you need more hours you pay.

Tell your Son that it’s important that whenever people are rude to him or kick him, he should tell His Teacher FIRST before trying to retaliate in any way. Then get him to tell you immediately after school, anything funny that happens as well which you will then put in an email to his Teacher just to inform her that you’re aware and would like to know what was done about it.

That way, there’s an email trail of when people were aggressive to him as well and if the teacher starts having to answer too she might calm down.

Also remember that he’s only in her class for 1 more term. By September he will move to a new class. Use the time to pray and ask God for favor so his new teacher is much nicer.

Hopefully other Momma’s with more experience will read to and add their own soon.

Please, is this applicable to Virgin Media too? Had a similar experience, in my own case I wasn't able to connect to the internet. Called on several occasions to complain, they were giving me monotonous replies. Everyone of them repeating what the other said with no solution in sight. I had to angrily cancel the contract which was still within 2 weeks but £42 ended up being deducted from my account. When I tried to contest it, they said it's £35 connection charge which is non-refundable according to their terms and conditions, and about £7 for data I used for the few days which in actual sense I never used cos I was unable to access the internet.

Do you think I should push for a refund regardless cos I was never told of the connection charge when I got the contract?

Did you read the agreement or the fine print? Pretty sure there is something there that covers their ass. They will never tell you everything, it's up to you to read the contract before agreeing to it.

Pretty sure it's the conventional boiler with tank in the loft and not the combi boiler. If the hot water in the tank finishes it could take a while for it to fill back up in my experience with it.

At op, look on the bright side it will help you take quick showers, less energy bills.

I'm the second owner. The first owner bought the flat brand new and I guess the property was overpriced/over valued as at 2007. New builds are notoriously overpriced, hence why those looking to achieve the best returns in property investment avoid them.

Today, that same flat and others in the block have an open market value of at least 160k and those that have sold their flats recently achieved way above that figure.

I haven't spent a penny on any home improvement apart from painting the walls when a new tenant moves in (I'm blessed to have had 2 longterm tenants in the last 6+years) and changing the original carpets which were off white in colour.

My advice - do your research carefully, read the home/valuation report, read about the history of the area, find out if the area is notorious for crime (anti social behavior, vandalism,etc) and find out if the council is planning any redevelopment or rejuvenation around the area (e.g. demolishing houses in that area to build modern properties,etc)

I know someone who bought a house offplan last year. The house has not been completed but value has appreciated 40k almost 20% value appreciation.

This is what Africa should do. We should have a unified front and introduce a continental wide currency.

Any commodity bought from Africa should be paid in that currency.

Not only that there should be laws that prevent exporting raw materials, the materials need to be processed to some degree before leaving the continent. This will create jobs in Africa.

The wealth is in adding value to the resources not necessarily the resources itself

Nobody pays zero tax. You buy anything you pay vat, you pay for services vat, local council tax, everything is taxed. The only thing not taxed is the air you breathe in and the grace of God.
