but i loff d first
Yea, the first is fully dressed and it's like i know her from somewhere although i can't remember. the 3rd looks better to me in a way because of her complexion. my best is that Nnenna Agba. Chic is stunning. I love her style.

Chimanda has a preety face though but there is something about her that tells me she'll be a very weak woman that can easily take rubbish from a man.

If Nigeria were to get closer to China, I guarantee double-digit economic growth will the ever increasing need for oil there. Angola is their largest supplier of oil, and they actually prefer their oil to others. Now, if Nigeria were to get in with China, can you imagine all the trade/investment when over ONE BILLION people are demanding oil for their cars?
As long as there is a global price for oil set by OPEC, does it really matter whom you sale to? I thought you were suggesting if we exploit our trade agreements with China more than we do with America but Obasanjo did set that pace before the Northerners came in again and scattered the whole thing. That's why Obasanjo fixed Nigeria's economy to a considerable extent but my regret now is that YaraMugu will spoil the whole thing within 3 years.

33-year-old jobless graduate caught for stealing N80,000 from ATM

By Akin Oyedele, Ibadan

A 33-year-old unemployed graduate, Mr. Adebiyi Okunade, was almost lynched to death in Ibadan, on Tuesday, after stealing N80,000 from the Automated Teller Machine of the Intercontinental Bank Plc, Adamasingba branch.

The self-acclaimed graduate of The Polytechnic, Ibadan, was said to have stolen the money meant for unwary customer, who had earlier fumbled with the machine for several minutes.

It was gathered that when the money initially refused to come out from the first ATM, the suspect, who had lurked around the bank premises, advised the woman to try her luck with the second ATM.

Unknown to him, the woman had become suspicious of the gesture, having already programmed the first machine for the withdrawal, before the suspect played a prank on her to relocate to the other one.

As soon as the woman settled down on the second ATM, with an eye on the first one, the suspect was said to have taken position by the machine and collected the N80, 000 that came out, obviously meant for her.

The alertness of the owner of the money was said to have saved the day as she confronted the man over how he came about the money since he did not insert any card on the ATM within the period.

The thief gave himself away when he allegedly shoved the woman aside and started running away before he was caught and beaten to a pulp

Martins leads Newcastle players’ revolt
• As fans kick against Nigerian takeover bid
By Olawale Ajimotokan, 09.24.2008

Wednesday, September 24, 2008

Super Eagles striker Obafemi Martins is among ring leaders of players seeking an exit from Newcastle United in the wake of the acrimony that has trailed the club following the departure of Kevin Keegan earlier this month.

Newcastle, which started the season on a bright note with a point at Manchester United, has drifted to the foot of the table and an uncertain future with three successive losses.

Reports from England yesterday claimed that at the last count 11 first team players had indicated interest to leave St James Park in the winter transfer window which opens on January 1st.

Martins and local boy, Steven Taylor are believed to be arrow head of players disgruntled at the treatment meted out to Keegan by the club’s top brass.

Though Taylor has since dissociated himself from the exodus, reports claimed the situation has escalated with Martins, who cost the Toon £10m three years ago handling in transfer request on Monday to caretaker coach Chris Houghton.

Other speculated rebels include England striker Michael Owen and Charles N’Zogbia.

The injury prone Nigerian, who has not played for the club for over a month, is expected to return to action today in a Carling Cup Third Round action at St James Park against Tottenham Hotspur.

While the exit speculation continued to gain ground, a section of the club fan base has strongly voiced sentiment against the likely take over of the club by a consortium of wealthy Nigerians.

Either in a display of stereotype and lack of knowledge about Nigeria, some of the views echoed on the ‘Chronicle Live Fans Forum’ were clearly anti Nigeria.

Most of the comments were skewed and a demonstration of hatred against Nigerians who were lampooned as petty criminals and con artists.

Here is a selection of some of the posts: kthec wrote : be wary of Nigerians asking you to deposit 1k into an offshore account, for your share of nufc.

PeterWard: As Kthecat says are these the same Nigerians that send out these e-mails promising a fortune if you help them get money out? You do have to give them a substantial sum first. I had such an e-mail a while ago. Said to be a pretty nasty bunch. Selling to a Nigerian consortium? How much further can we sink?

Chriz78: Yeah right. And within 2 days of accepting the offer, Mike Ashley is going to be found dead on some Nigerian wasteland with a burnt tire round his neck. Not that I'm stereotyping or anything,

However, against the odds it seems a Nigerian take over is imminent as the tycoons are set to match Newcastle’s owner Mike Ashley’s £400 million (N96bn) asking prize.

Ashley is willing to divest of his almost two years controlling stake of £134.4million he acquired from Sir John Hall after he fell out with the fans following Keegan’s departure.

Reports say he has appointed London-based investment bank Seymour Pierce to handle the sale of the club after the Nigerian consortium announced it has raised £350million and is bidding to secure more cash to fund a takeover bid.The Nigerian bid is deal is being brokered by NVA Management led by Chris Nathaniel who is hopeful a deal will be done at the expense of a Dubai-based Arab Group whose offer was outright turned by Ashley because it was far wide the mark.

If goes thorough it will put Nigeria in the searchlight as the first African team to own an English Premier League club.

Why do you have such discontent to Bob Marley getting a street named after him? Are you a hater or something? I fail to see your point.
No, I do not. My point is there is so much sexism evident in naming the streets.

So is Miriam makeba, Tupac shakur and Lucky dube.
PoliticsRe: Why Is America's Crawling Economy Hitting The World? by DeepZone(op): 8:45pm On Sep 24, 2008
Nigeria and South Africa shouldn't have been so dependent on America, and should have made the smart decision and get close to China. Economies in Africa like Angola, Sudan, and DR Congo, who have growing business relations with China, are having their economies boom right now. China is also booming, growing at 8-9% a year, and it's economy shows no sign of slowing, neither do Angola, Sudan, and DR Congo with the before 2 being amongst the worlds fastest growing economies.

America's economic downturn largely effects countries who solely rely on trade/investment with them, more often than not, many others still continue to rise. Iran, India, Brazil, are also examples.
But we shifted to China some couple of years back?
PoliticsWhy Is America's Crawling Economy Hitting The World? by DeepZone(op): 8:20pm On Sep 24, 2008
Why is America's crawling economy hitting the world real bad. UK is on the brink of collapse, the pounds sterling is having a free fall. The EU is almost suffocating and let's not talk about Nigeria and South Africa(which are the two biggest African economies). It's now obvious that America will not be going down alone. Shouldn't the world be praying for America to stand on it's both feet again because I sense doom if this continues.

Comments pleez.

The police will do nothing because I think the legal marriage age in Nigeria is 12 and they do it everyday in the north. That's why the north has a high rate of VVF.

Pastor Marries School Girl

Tuesday, September 23, 2008 - By Lois Okereke

Head pastor of the Glory of God and Miracle Church, Pastor Emmanuel Chisaokwu Michael, has wedded a school girl, Juliet Uzoamaka Uzoeghelu, in his church.

Despite the disapproval of neighbours and friends, the couple went ahead to sign the dotted lines in front of family members and the congregation in the church, located at 1, Alabi Williams Crescent, Olusesi Bus Stop, Agbado Road.

During the wedding, the pastor gave orders that no one, except the photographer he contracted, must take photographs. When our reporter tried to take a photograph of the couple with his camera phone, he was bundled out of the hall and locked up in a room.

The River state born pastor showed up a few minutes later, collected his phone and demanded that all the photographs be deleted, after which he was allowed back into the hall.

The pastor later gave orders that the reporter should be monitored so that he does not take any more photographs.

Another reporter, who sought the reaction of close neighbours of the church on the same day, found out that most of them were against the marriage, as they stood outside the church, insulting those in attendance.

One of the neighbours, who pleaded anonymity, condemned the pastor, saying that he should be arrested for marrying an underage school girl.

“I have known this girl even before her father died. She is too young to get married. I can tell you categorically that she isn’t more than 14 years of age. This pastor should be arrested for destroying this girl’s life,” he said.

“You can see for yourself how everyone is abusing him and people attending the wedding. I am sure God will never forgive this so-called pastor,” he added.

Another neighbour told P.M.News that the pastor and the bride’s stepmother should be made to face the law.

P.M.News investigations revealed that Juliet (the bride) and two of her siblings, whose parents are deceased, had been living with their stepmother since the demise of their father.

P.M.News also learnt that Juliet, who ought to be in SS 2, was a scholarship student at Rehoboth Secondary School before she dropped out because of the marriage.

Sources close to the Uzoeghelu family told P.M.News that most of them were shocked when the news of Juliet’s wedding was broken to them
.

“I was shocked when her stepmother told me she was getting married because my own daughter is actually a year older than Juliet is. The girl is an intelligent girl who should be allowed to, at least, finish her secondary school education. She is too young for the responsibility of marriage,” a neighbour said.

“I am sure her stepmother must have allowed this marriage to avoid the shame of an unwanted pregnancy,” she added. It was, however, rumoured that Juliet may be pregnant, which explains the early marriage.

When P.M.News spoke with Pastor Emmanuel, he debunked the rumour, stating that to prove it wasn’t the reason for the marriage, his wife had been taken to the hospital to confirm that she wasn’t pregnant.

The pastor also refused to declare his wife’s age, saying ”age is a thing of the mind.”

According to him, “no one is greater than the Lord Jesus Christ. If he and other great men in the Bible were persecuted, who am I? People can only talk about great people and not nonentities. Age is a thing of the mind and it is nobody’s business who I chose to marry.”

He stated that he had never promised anyone marriage but his wife and did not see any reason why people should complain.

Offering an explanation for the rush, he totally disagreed that she is too young. “I have known her since September 2007 and I believe she is matured enough for marriage. This marriage is one ordained by God,” he said.

Juliet’s stepmother also said it is nobody’s business who or when her stepdaughter chooses to marry.
