I use MTN modem and the updates where quite fast. The office package indicated that my OS version and type (win 7,64bit) was supported. But u know, these things are pirated copies. But I do know they work for most people. Pls how do I perform safe-mode installation? Thanks for ur prompt response and concern...
I'd advise that any previous office should be remove before installing another office. Ok safe mode restart the machine and keep pressing f8 until you see advanced boot options and select safe mode. All icons becomes big, that's normal. Remove any office through add and remove programs in control panel, then try installing the disk. Given your media is a pirated copy, it would be difficult to pinpoint to the cause of the error messages.

please skydancer, I am having problem with my HP Compaq window 7 pc, The screen cannot be brightened,it looks so deem, if I try to adjust the screen brighteness it w'nt even move, pls how can I make my screen to be bright.thanks.
Click start and search for battery from the start search menu. You are looking for hp battery test or check. Click on it and follow everything it says. I reckon that the battery is
Causing the problem. Also have you tried increasing brightness by right clicking on the battery icon on your desktop. Are the keyboard keys working?

I've updated windows and some drivers online. I've equally downloaded and performed Microsoft fixit and all kinds of troubleshooting, and eachtime I get "Windows found no problems"! I omitted these in my original post...
Are you on mtn or zain because I found it so hard to believe that you were able to install all of the windows updates. I asked you to get into safe mode, you didn't. Check your program list, it seems you have office 2010 installed, if so please remove it. If you get into safe mode try installing office 2013 again. Are you 100% sure that the office 2013 is compatible with your machine. For example, 32 bit cd\dvd on 32 bit machine

Where are the computer software gurus? Don't tell me this case is beyond you? Or is this supposed to be a new case, peculiar to only me?

I am 100% certain that you either don't have
Windows updates install, as in no available updates after installing them. Use google to research how to get to safe mode and try installing the office. If no joy, download Microsoft office 2013 fix it and follow the instructions. After that try installing the office again

it came with Windows 7 starter. Been using Windows 8 on it for like a month plus now b4 d problem started. Thanks

It just got worse o. I removed d battery and den tried cleaning d ram, afta coupling it back, d laptop fan will just run for like 8seconds then stop. D system is not booting anymore. It is not even displaying anything.
Given all of the problems, you would be better off to take to a
technician.Let us be realistic, the problems are way too much to
fix online. The laptop need to be assess by someone.

For the display issue, take the battery out and the charger and
anything else plugged in.Then hold the laptop power down for 30 seconds
dont let go and try switching it on

am using an acer d270 mini laptop. I have opened d device manager, dere is no exclamation mark nor yellow sign. Thanks. The system rating is 3.2
Dear Smudge,

Please click http://www.acer.com.ph/ac/en/PH/content/model/NU.SGASP.004
and tell us if the machine originally came with linux or windows.

Could you please run windows 7 or windows 8 compatibility check to ensure that
your machine is capable of running windows. A netbook that was designed for Linux
would have problems running windows 7 or windows 8. If the manufacturer built
Linux on a machine and it failed windows compatibility check. then stick with linux.

The manufacturer knows why it had linux, i.e. system capability

Given zyzxx previous advice's, please check your laptop memory and
your system rating by clicking start, computer and system properties.

What is the make and model of the laptop? for example
toshiba P300-20H windows 7. if you have an laptop, please
restart and keep pressing f10 for bios. The bios would display a menu, please
use your arrow key to select diagnostics and run me an hard drive short test.

How did you re install windows, e.g. copied windows disc or original windows disk.

hold the windows logo on your keyboard and the letter R and a box should appear.
In the box, please type devmgmt.msc and press enter. In the device maanager, can you
see any exclamation mark/yellow signs

Are you using the laptop on a flat surface not on the bed ?
Dear Users,

When asking for support, please mention the laptop make and model number. For example,
Toshiba P300-20H, Windows Vista/Windows 7/Linux/XP. If a dual or triple boot, please specify.
Also try spelling battery and not bat3. These are what I look for. I ignore post sometime if I am
having to waste my time to translate bat3 into battery, because cuz so on and so fourth. Be specific and
go straight to the point

Some would agree that the probability of replies depends on the above.

No bootable device insert boot disc and press any
key error.
when I try to re install Windows 7 it say Error 0x80300024 Fix Windows is unable to install
to the selected location.
my laptop is HP 630 Core i3
Do you have another operating system on the machine. for example
windows xp or vista. is the installation disc copied or original one ?

During installation, was there any hard rive attached ? for example an
external hard drive, usb sticks and sd card. are you installing inside windows
or outside windows ? as in, inside when you have logged in or outside, when
you restart the machine. Ok restart it without the install dvd and keep pressing f11
to start internal hard drive recovery. An internal hd recovery restore the machine
back to square one. you will loose all valuable data ! Have you saved all your
data . The cd you have got is it a 64 bit or 32 bit. If you cant tell, don't worry.

If you're not able to see f11 recovery manager. restart and keep pressing f10 for bios
and use your keyboard arrow key to navigate to boot priority or boot order and move the
hard drive you want to install windows 7 to the top of the list and your cd dvd drive should
be the second one.

Family ties

How your partner relates with the opposite sexes in his family could be a pointer to how he would relate with you. A lady who respects her father and brothers would definitely respect you as a husband. If your partner gets physical with his sisters, he may continue with you once you are married. Also, how do your intending in-laws behave towards you? How does your partner act around your family and friends? That could determine how successful your marriage will be.

Financial responsibility

Maturity or age is not the only requirements for marriage. One’s economic power also determines if a man is ready to marry or not. Financial instability is one of the major causes of broken marriages. It is safer to delay the marriage until both parties are financially stable. Also, how prudent is your partner? If you are extravagant, you may want to stay away from someone who is also extravagant, except if you have mutually decided to go bankrupt.

Temperament

People’s disposition towards issues should determine if you would marry them or not. Opposites attract. It is always advisable to marry someone who is not of the same temperament with you. That way, you would complement each other strongly. How does your partner handle issues? How effective can he/she control anger? Consider these.

Plans for future

It is always advisable to marry someone who has the same vision of the future with you. Take into consideration the vision your partner has for the future. Are they in line with yours? Do you want to have kids immediately after the wedding when your partner may not want any kids at all? Set short and long term goals and make sure they are in line with those of your partner.

Emotional maturity

Needless to say, you should get married to someone you are emotionally attached to. Not only should your partner be mature, also make sure he/she is emotionally able to handle whatever comes out of the union. Marriage is a life time affair, and for better or worse.

Motives

Surprisingly, the motive for wanting to get married may be different from that of your partner. You may be getting married because you love your partner, whereas your partner is only getting married out of desperation. Get to figure out if you are you getting married to each other for the same reasons.

Relationship history

Your partner may tell you that the past has been buried, but how he/she fared in that relationship might be a determining factor to the outcome or success of the union. Old habits do not die young and chances are that he/she would bring them into your union. Be sure to clear this air before you move on.

Background check

Before you propose to that lady or say yes to that man, carry out your background check to be certain that all the stories you were fed are true. Your intending spouse does not have to know about it and this should not stop you from building the trust either.

Medical fitness

Although medicine has clearly evolved and provided solution to most ailments, it is advisable to marry someone who is medically compatible with you. You may not have to spend too much money maintaining and sustaining yourselves health wise. Also, ascertaining your medical fitness gives you an idea of what to avoid or expect if you decide to go on with the marriage.

When you trust your spouse

Bayo: You do not hide things from her. The wife on the other hand, should have faith in her husband. She should not be a nagging type. She should also be the proverbial virtuous woman and offer support where it is needed. The couple should be contented with what they have and not spend money because they see others doing so.
