Dejsam: this is just a correction as i didn't include the neutral as posted earlier. @ fasone, no.its pin1-------------------------------5 thats what i use up till tommorrow.and it works with all receiver.100% sure of what i am saying.u may give it a trial to confirm what i am saying. |

Dejsam: @lovala,
its the same as the null modem cable.(both ends must be female)but the issue is that most of the ones u get from computer shops are straight cables, meaning that they are not crossed so u have to do the crossing manually.so all u need to do is get a multimeter used in measuring electrical values then the null modem cable will be cut in to two equal halves from the middle then u now cross both sides like this:
pin1---------------------------------pin5
pin2---------------------------------pin3
pin3---------------------------------pin2
neutral-----------------------------neutral(naked wires)
with this crossing method u can use it with any receiver or loader.either strong or echolink or starsat, etc
i hope this helps u out. this is just a correction as i didn't include the neutral as posted earlier. |

lovala: @Twinstaiye: Oga Moderator, I thank you so very much for your patience. All the others who helped in one way or another in pushing me in the right direction towards the resolution of my malaise, (for until I solve the problem with the 4663, it remains a malaise to me) I wanna say I am very grateful. FTA is for life and what is life if not tolerance. However, I pray I don’t become the cause for concern again in such a manner in the future albeit the fact that I regret ever flashing the decoder which I just bought from a dealer here in Yaounde. He got it from Alaba, Lagos since that’s where he sources all his electronic gears for sale here in his shop. If the 4663X Conax PVR is a fake then I’ve been taken for a ride. I do regret flashing it for it was working as smooth as a song until over sabi got the better of me. I’ll never go that far again without adequate advice from those who know.@Desjam Now, oga Desjam, is the RS-232 CABLE (which must be crossed) the same as a NULL MODEM Cable? ‘Cos some one hinted to me that the later can also do the same job. If not, will I be the one to cross the RS-232 cable or can one buy it already crossed? While waiting to get your take on this question, I’ll go visit a PC shop to see if I can get the cable. I'll get back to you as soon as everything is set via your e-mail addy. Thanks a trillion man. @George_D Oga GeorgeD, I hail o. @lovala, its the same as the null modem cable.(both ends must be female)but the issue is that most of the ones u get from computer shops are straight cables, meaning that they are not crossed so u have to do the crossing manually.so all u need to do is get a multimeter used in measuring electrical values then the null modem cable will be cut in to two equal halves from the middle then u now cross both sides like this: pin1---------------------------------pin5 pin2---------------------------------pin3 pin3---------------------------------pin2 neutral ------------------------------neutral(that is the naked wires of both side will be crossed together too) with this crossing method u can use it with any receiver or loader.either strong or echolink or starsat, etc i hope this helps u out. |

twinstaiye: You probably have a fake Decoder. If you are so sure you have an original one, take it to any Strong outlets, they will work on it for you, but they will surely reject working on it, if it is a fake. Goodluck pal. @lovala, what u need to do is what twinstaiye have just said above.and if u have the required materials for loading the firmware, then u can reload the right firmware. what happened to ur receiver is that u loaded the wrong firmware.but since it still displays light infront of the receiver when u power on,these are the things u need: 1-RS-232 CABLE WHICH MUST BE A CROSSED ONE. 2-STRONG LOADER. 3-THE RIGHT FIRMWARE. CAHT ME ON DEJSAM 247@YAHOO.COM LET ME GIVE U DIRECTION OF HOW TO GO ABOUT IT. |

@all,
this is an important info for all nilesat users
ART to close Irdeto boxes on June 1
27-09-2009
ART, the largest Middle East pay-TV platform, will begin the switch-out of its Irdeto encryption on June 1 next year, just days ahead of the important 2010 FIFA World Cup soccer tournament. ART is in the process of switching from Irdeto to Viaccess conditional access in an attempt to curb local piracy.
Viewers who want to see the soccer games will have to have bought a new ART-endorsed Viaccess-suitable set-top box. ART has exclusive rights to all of the World Cup games.
Despite this plan ART’s subscriber services company (MultiChoice Middle East) says it will continue to simulcrypt Irdeto conditional access for the foreseeable future, and the initial target is to see 95% of its audience to have new Viaccess boxes before any final Irdeto switch-off is concerned. |

George_D: @const6, Badr 4/6 is just a little after astra 2B on your east. Pito tracked it with 2.4m in ph and with my 3m, I got some nice H tps here. If you're not getting it, check your dish alignment and lnb focal lenght. Question: Are you getting astra 2B at all? If yes, is it high to maximum quality signal (97-98%)? If yes, then proceed to track badr. From astra 2b position, Just lift the dish up a little and move it slightly to your left (facing the dish) and use the tp pitodenz gave you and you should strike green. @ const6, what i am trying to explain is that.the distance from the centre of your dish to the point at whish u cut open your lnb should be betwn 35.5 and 36 inches for a 2.4m dish.and for a 1.8m dish the distance should be 26.5 and 27 inches.this helps your tracking very easy without sweating.withen five minutes u will hit green pointing the dish in the right direction pls let me have your e mail addy for the update. |

sholatech: Dejsam!! Please have you used Ecolink EL-888 FTA Superplus before? What are your comments on this decoder? I imported quite a good number from UAE last week and came with the card. its quite popular there even at the factory and the office in china there but it appears we use more of ecolink 3030 IR here. Do you have software for the EL-888 FTA superplus?Im presently in Lagos but want to come to Jos tomorow and install one in my house in Jos over the weekend before starting the sale to interested users. I will be returning to the factory hopefully in 3 weeks time after the sale of this first consignment and buy other versions too. Im not a FTA techie but i keep reading about it everyday. im also ordering some HD Decoders from Uk before end of september! @sholatech, it is thesame thing with the echolink 3020ir plus.they both use the same processor and firmware. hope this helps u. |

George_D: @Ecowas4All, Does the multi-tv digibox have an RF in and out port? I am asking because daarsat does not have.
@all, For those having daarsat decoders who intend to tie it in with other receivers in their house, you may be in for a hercullean task unless you have a way of converting the in-to-in video into an RF output to co-mingle with the signals of the rest decoders. Else you may only be able to watch multi-tv in the parlour (with video 1 or 2) as the case may be. In my own case, that formed part of the brainstorming I had to do when I was installing my daarsat. I noticed it had no RF output so what I did was to feed in the video into an old panasonic video cassete player. I then took the RF output of the panasonic and co-mingled it with my other strong and starsat decoders. Now I can watch multi-tv in all the rooms. Just a thought. @ all, i think this is the best idea u can bargain for.by using a video players rf output as an extension!!!!! @george d, thats a good idea u brought.as thats what i have always done in the past to watch vcd when i had a tv without an av port. keep it up. |

enitan2002: @ blexx, dem give u 'toto' u dey complain say hair no dey there. whether the LG skylife HD decoder can accept updates is not what is at stake here, it is its HD compliant, by the way what do we even use the updates for sef, so far it can work for HD, am ok with it, anyother function it hasnt got is of secondary importance to me.
The picture of CRTV I complained is not that its scrambled, it freezes for some few seconds continously.
I also noticed during my short stay in lagos during the weekend that al-jazeera on sirus is off, dont really know whats the matter with them.
Is the CRTV station controlled by JOY in Ghana? cos if they do, i wont be surprise if it go on HD very soon.
By the way, where on earth is ENIGMA?
@ olason, just count me in on the search for HD decoders (fairly used), i will also advice if u can make a visit to westminster at APAPA, it seems fairly used electronic gadgets can be gotten there too, will be in lagos finally in about 2 weeks time, goodluck in your search. @ enitaaaaaannnnnnn, na wa for u o.i beg no let female members de run from the forum noww.i beg make u de give that thing small respect. . in fact i go recommend 9m dish for u so that hotbird go dey for ur finger tips. @ butoneday, i de hail o.i am very sorry i have not been able to call u.i will give u a shout tommorrow by his grace. @george d, how far my oga?it quite some days.hope all is rolling smooth at ur end.u have finally joined the daarsat family.enjoy ur self |
