Bros that is not how it works. What you need to keep your eye on is the liquidity in the market. Mallam doesn't have infinity naira to buy all the dollars available. That is why it is called trade. You must sell to buy.

The naira will continue to gain value if all parameters(peace in the ND and the international price of crude) as at today remains the same or improves. And the more Nigeria's Foreign reserves grows the more investors confidence is boosted.

Remember the mallam also must continue to make money by trading so, they cannot hoard to such a point as to distort the price as long as the CBN is still able to push more dollars into the system.

You missed out one of the steps.

You need an ECA by any of the accredited bodies before you can create an EE profile. This means you need WES or the other approved body to evaluate your highest degree.

I created my EE profile and submitted my application on the 24th of December and this morning I received a message, stating that I'm not eligible.

I was taken aback because I got 422 when I did the CRS ranking. I'm really confused at this point.

I already have my IELTS with L8, R 7.5, S7 & W 7.
I am a masters degree holder although I am yet to evaluate it because the certificate would be out this January. I have 5 years working experience,I'm 34 years old , married with 2 kids, my husband is 35 years old, a bsc holder with 8 years working experience. He intends taking his IELTS exams in January although I filled a dummy score of 7 across all bands .

I'm so devastated at the moment and would really appreciate if anyone with a similar experience can advice or share their experience. Also can I create another profile ,probably after evaluation of my certificate and do I state that I have applied before?

My wife had her Masters degree verified by WES last week and she tried the Comprehensive Ranking System calculator where she got (421) point. She filled the EE profile and was awarded 347 point. using the same information. Please house what should we do? CLB (7); 8speaking; 6.5 in reading and writing; 6 in listening. Age 32; Masters degree and 5 years experience as head of HR.

With the IELTS score above she cannot score 421. She would have missed out on some bonus points as the IELTS results is low. But as suggested above you can run through the EE application again.

What is their strategic plan? To export those items from China to Nigeria or to have the Chinese consume them?

If the former is the case, how do they intend to fund the import of the finished product from Nigeria if they couldn't fund import of raw materials. if the later then I doubt if that business will thrive with the same mentality in that clime.

In all, I believe this news is just an attempt to blackmail the government.

Here is the pointer: the date he submits his complete PR application and the date he gets married.

If he submits his application AFTER getting married (considering the fact that he got an ITA before getting married), he may likely be denied. Since we don't want him to lose his ITA, i have already suggested that he submit his application BEFORE getting married, then AFTER marriage he can inform CIC that his status has changed (this time AFTER submitting his application).

Friends of mine have done it and no problem because the dates are different (submitted PR application and status change).

This I also believe is the way to go. This also affords him the opportunity to get his wife's credentials evaluated and also have the wife take IELTS to boost the score.

I believe the case of the man that was denied in the letter shown above is different as it seems the man was married and had a child even before getting the ITA.

I believe overall the most important thing that the system tries to checkmate is sincerity.

So get the process rolling and deal the issues as they come. The good thing is once you get the processing rolling if you send your situation as an inquiry to CIC you will get prompt and honest feedback.

ETX is highly inefficient, I rate them 1/10. Aside making payment to the school on your behalf they rarely add any value. I used them to apply for my transcripts as well and for over 2 months they had no information for me, other than "it is being processed". Even when my backend checks and WES had acknowledged the transcripts and sent it back to the school for verification.

If this is not your first time, then I will advise you get someone out there to assist else be willing to wait for a long time as ETX will not give you any useful information until about 3 months after payment is paid .

What a friend of mine did was that after submitting his application for PR, he then included his wife. This is because it takes longer to bring your spouse AFTER getting your PR.

I would advise you submit/complete your application BEFORE you get married. After marriage, you can then include your spouse in your application. Otherwise, you will need to decline your ITA because it is likely your score may not meet the cut-off point with which you got your ITA.

This for me is the wisest thing to do. At the end the people in IRCC are humans and understand that life is dynamic. You may just be required to provide proof of funds to cover your self and your wife.

Finally, my school has found WES letter. It was received since May 25th,2016. Nigerian schools sha, God will help them.

But, WES has already changed my account status to reflect courier fee, since I told them to resend the verification letter via courier. I have written to them since yesterday to change it back to prior status. Waiting now.

Just want to put this WES wahala behind me.

Please state the name of the institution so that future applicants from there can take note and track them so as not to suffer same fate.

Your best bet is to focus on getting PNP if you do not have anyone in Canada, have never been there and do not have a masters.

You can start by getting your credentials evaluated.

WES will not accept transcript sent by you it must come from your school.Plz brace up and go to your school to get another transcript.WES don't accept original copies send by individuals let alone photocopies.

I will like to find out if I can send copies of my transcripts to WES myself as I have the copies made when I request it for a different purpose sometimes back. I also would want to go through the stress of running after my previous schools for the transcripts.

These people would have done tremendous damage on the senators before the final vote for this to happen is done on the floor of the national assembly.

There is nothing insensitive in the fact that the Governor has shown no mercy to hawkers who have been told severally to leave the highways. The issue with most Nigerians when we analyze issues of this nature is that we don't have a good understanding of the cost of lawlessness. The life of everyone is at risk because of this menace. People sell weapons (cutlasses, knifes, fire extinguishers in traffic) and that sometimes late at night. These can be used by same hawkers to perpetrate evil in the slow moving traffic.

Street traders damage major roads in the dead of the night to generate traffic so they can sell their wares, this is definitely at the expense of someone else.

Someone already highlighted above the economic impact of hawkers.

There is no condition that farming cannot take care of. Street trading is one of the reasons why people abandon former education.

Let us seek to have a broad perspective of issues.

My thoughts based on previous experience.

1. Two similar buildings are not the same, the so called little difference in location and size can affect cost of the building significantly.
2. Most times greed and bad quality jobs go hand in hand.
3. At most you will get a 300 to 350K difference from a newbie to the site which you may have to pay for a new concern later.
4. Negotiate with your current builder for price reduction if the quality of his job so far has been standard and satisfactory.
5. Scrutinize the cost items on a line by line basis. Granite ? Iron ? (Type and Cost) Sharp Sand?
6. Try to supply some of the materials yourself if you are bent on cost reduction ( a couple of (trusted ) suppliers from nairaland exists -chekiaut,crib,HSL$broker,Xzevian etc). Validate their claims about honesty independently.
7. Avoid people who avoid open forums such as this to solicit for the job.

And in fairness to your builder, the quotes given by your builder for the materials are within acceptable contracts markups.
