The reasons I made my suggestion are simple:
- the damage has been done, friendly resolution is next.
- neither the OP's father nor the herdsmen can "relocate their geographical possession" meaning they are both stuck geographically hence, they better off as friends, not enemies
- what if the crops got destroyed by, say, weather, midnight farm thieves, stray animals, etc? Who would be held responsible? No one. Before my parents built a mall and schools, some of their lands were used as farmlands so I know these things happen. It's a farm business, profit n loss is part of the game.
