I Av secured an affidavit before and believe u me, u are normally advised to talk less. U don't deposed to an affidavit telling stories. Ask any good lawyer u know. You go straight to the point. He didn't lose it, instead the military took it according to him.

You can not say that someone who disposed you of your valuables by force is holding it in safe keeping for u.

He said no such thing, the wordings said it's with the military though that in itself is generic but also applicable

Why should Buhari assume that the certificates taken from his house was destroyed by the military without any verifiable facts to substantiate this? I personally won't do that.

Moreover, do you realise that it could be possible that Buhari just made it up to APC as a face saving move?

And it's up to the military to deny it if untrue. As at yesterday during the press conference, they did not so apc did not lie.

I can only say that if there is anything to be misplaced, stolen or destroyed in GMB military file, it would only be photocopies, not original certs. No one, i repeat no one gives his original copy of his cert to his employer. Pls when did they ever said that the 'original certs of past leaders are with them? Give us the link pls. NB, pls no insult, we can do without it.

There is the need to acknowledge the trite rule of interpretation of Statutes which is to the effect that a Section of a Statute should not be construed in isolation. All sections in a Statute must be interpreted conjunctively, especially where the Statute has a definition Section, as it is the case with the 1999 Constitution (as amended).Section 131(d) must therefore be construed in conjunction with Section 318(1) of the constitution which defines the words “School Certificate or its equivalent.”

Sir pls tell us about the content of the said affidavit.... GMB lied that his credentials are with the miliary board...so swearing affidavit in place photocopy is not the issue. If he has said it was destroyed or that he lost it, then your point would been valid.

The truth is, APC is in a very dicey situation if Gen. Buhari cannot produce his secondary school certificate. By swearing to an affidavit to the effect that he had a certificate (lost, stolen, destroyed....), his eligibility to contest will be hinged on this secondary school certificate irrespective of any other certificates he acquired later.

But the bigger implication is the perjury aspect. I was with some very senior lawyers yesterday and even though I do not really understand a lot of their 'lawyer speak", what they all seem to agree with is that, even if Gen. Buhari wins, his victory will be overturned by the courts.

Head or tail, it seems APC loses.

I just hope its not too late for APC to present another candidate.
